Wasn't that delicious?
So good.
Your bill, ladies.
I got it.
No, I got it.
Seriously, I insist.
I insisted first.
Oh, don't be silly.
You don't be silly.

Easy English Expression, rehashed.
Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
The weekend is here.
Happy Saturday.
Coach Shane is here with you.
And for the people who study on the weekend.
I really respect the heck out of you because this is, you know, your rest time.
And yeah, but here you are listening to the podcast.
So that makes me super happy.
Today's expression, number 233, is great, especially when you are not feeling great.
Check it out.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression, listen carefully.
To be out of sorts.
I'm out of sorts.
He's out of sorts.
We're out of sorts.
To be what?
To be out of sorts.
O-U-T.
Out of.
Out of.
O-F.
Sorts.
S-O-R-T-S.
To be out of sorts... means you are not able to concentrate today.
You are not able to do a good job today.
For some reason, today, your skill, your ability is very bad.
Usually, you're good.
Usually, you can concentrate.
Usually, you know.
But today, something's wrong.
Maybe you're tired.
Maybe you're sick.
Maybe there's a problem that you're thinking about at home, so therefore you can't concentrate on your work or your schoolwork.
You're out of sorts.
It's a good expression.
Now I want to talk about the pronunciation of this expression, but first let's listen to the dialogue.
Where are you going?
Oh, I missed the turn.
Sorry, I'm out of sorts today.
Maybe I should drive.
Maybe.
My boss may be really mad and I keep thinking about it.
Yeah, that happens.
You're at work.
Somebody makes you angry your boss, a co-worker and now you're driving home and you just keep thinking about your boss or the co-worker and how angry you are and you should have said this or you should have done that.
And because you're thinking too much about that...
Your driving skill is not so good.
You missed the turn.
Or, oh God forbid, you go too fast.
Or somebody honks the horn because you're at the stoplight and you didn't move.
You are out of sorts.
Now, when we say this expression quickly, this is what it sounds like.
I'm out of sorts today.
I'm out of sorts.
I'm out of sorts.
I am, I'm.
Out of.
And here's the trick.
Out of.
We can simply write O-U-T-T-A.
And the pronunciation is that outa.
It is outa.
Outa.
Outa.
I'm outa.
I'm outa.
I'm outa sorts today.
Today.
Today.
Sounds like today.
Today.
I'm out of sorts today.
I'm out of sorts today.
I'm out of sorts today.
My concentration is terrible.
I keep thinking about my problems.
I need to focus on work.
I'm out of sorts today.
Maybe you're feeling sick.
Maybe there's a problem at home, a problem at work, a problem at school, and your concentration goes to that area.
You are unable to concentrate.
Your skill, your ability is not very good today.
You are out of sorts.
How are you?
Are you okay today?
I hope so.
Let's listen to the dialogue two more times.
I want you to find somebody to practice today.
Where are you going?
Oh, I missed the turn.
Sorry, I'm out of sorts today.
Maybe I should drive.
Maybe.
My boss may be really mad and I keep thinking about it.
Where are you going?
Oh, I missed the turn.
Sorry, I'm out of sorts today.
Maybe I should drive.
Maybe.
My boss may be really mad and I keep thinking about it.
Thanks so much for listening.
