Easy english expression rehashed.
Hello everybody, my name is coach shane and welcome to easy english expressions.
Come on, let's master english.
Hello everybody.
Welcome back to Easy English Expression.
Rehashed number 337.
We got a great expression today.
My wife has been gone for over a week, some business trip, so I haven't had to use this word.
Enjoy.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is nagging.
N-A-G-G-I-N-G.
Nagging, nagging, nagging.
Oh, why do you always do that?
Every time I listen to your video, you're telling somebody to do something.
You're giving advice.
You're talking about life.
Why do you do that?
Just teach English.
Yes, that is nagging.
Do you think so?
You know, I think it's true.
I need to shut up.
Quit talking about life.
Quit talking about life's lessons and just teach English.
Nagging n-a-g-g-i-n-g.
To nag somebody is to repetitively complain or harass or ask questions, especially repetitive questions, especially things like Did you wash the dishes?
Did you take out the garbage?
Did you clean out the room?
And then the next day.
Did you wash the dishes?
Did you take out the garbage?
Did you clean out the room?
And so on and so on.
Do you nag anybody?
Does somebody nag you?
Yes, mothers.
Mothers are all famous for nagging.
But it's not just nagging.
Many husbands nag too.
Check out the dialogue.
Wash your hands before eating.
I will.
And clean under your fingernails.
I will.
And you so.
I will.
Stop nagging me.
Yep, that was my mom.
And I'm serious, when I was a kid, I was silly.
My mom always told me, wash your hands before eating.
And when you're like five years old, what does washing your hands mean?
It means like, turn the sink on, put your hand there for like one second, and that's it.
So one second of water is more than enough.
To wash your hands when you're a five-year-old boy.
So wash your hands before eating.
No problem.
Clean under your fingernails.
Oh, come on.
I'm not going to eat with my fingernails.
Why do I need to clean under my fingernails?
It takes so much time.
And use soap.
Oh, soap.
Soap.
Come on.
Soap's not necessary.
Who uses soap?
Yeah, nag, nag, nag, nag.
Moms, once again, moms around the world are famous for nagging.
Wake up, clean your room, do your homework.
But it's not just moms, dads too.
Well, not really dads, but husbands nag.
Dads, I don't know, my dad never nagged me.
My dad told me to do something once, and because my dad was scary, I did it.
But my mom could tell me to do something.
She wasn't scary.
I didn't do it.
She'd tell me again.
I didn't do it.
She'd tell me again.
I didn't do it.
My dad would tell me, done.
Oh, my dad was scary.
Yeah.
My mom, she wasn't as scary.
Sometimes she was.
Yeah.
What about you?
Do you nag anybody?
Who nags you?
In your family, who is the biggest nag?
Who's always nagging?
Be honest.
Tell us.
Listen to the dialogue two more times.
Wash your hands before eating.
I will.
And clean under your fingernails.
I will.
And you so.
I will.
Stop nagging me.
Wash your hands before eating.
I will.
And clean under your fingernails.
I will.
And use soap.
I will.
Stop nagging me.
