Easy English Expression, rehashed.
Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello, everybody.
Welcome back to Daily Easy English Expressions Rehashed.
This is Constance sitting in for Coach Shane while he's out with a sore throat.
Even though he's resting, E-Cubed continues.
Here's number 265.
Enjoy.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is a good one.
It's simple.
It is give a shout out to.
Give a shout out to.
Give a shout, S-H-O-U-T, out to somebody.
I want to give a shout out to my dad.
I'd like to give a shout out to my mom.
Give me a shout out.
Give me a shout out.
Okay, so this is a great expression.
When do you use it?
You use it when you go on the radio or on TV, on some kind of broadcasting, even a podcast like this.
And what it means is you want to say a special hello to somebody.
Do you understand?
So I'm going to give you guys the chance to give a shout out to anyone you want.
But I'll tell you how to do that after you listen to the dialogue.
Welcome to the podcast, Country Shane.
I love daily easy English expression podcast.
Let me give a shout out to my mom.
Respect your mother.
I love your mother.
Oh, that is Country Shane making a special guest appearance on today's podcast.
I do have another podcast.
Let's Master English is the name of that podcast.
And we usually do it every week.
I have not done it.
In January.
I sincerely apologize.
But in February, we'll get back to that podcast.
It's a weekly podcast.
Let's Master English.
It's great.
Now, if you listen, I invited Country Shane to the podcast.
And he said, let me give a shout out to my mom.
And then he said, I love you, mom.
So Country Shane said, had an opportunity to be on this podcast.
And let me tell you, our podcast is very big.
Did you know that every month 500,000 people listen.
That's right.
500,000.
This is the biggest daily podcast out there.
This is absolutely huge.
So Country Shane basically said hi mom to thousands of people.
So everybody knows that Country Shane loves his mom.
He gave a shout out to his mom.
He said a special hi to his moms.
So I'm going to give you guys the chance to give a shout out to somebody.
I want you to send me a message on Twitter.
My Twitter handle is at Coach Shane.
That's C-O-A-C-H-S-H-A-N-E.
And I want you to tell me your name.
Hi, my name is John.
And I want to give a shout out to my brother, Tom.
Whatever the situation.
But that's the pattern I want you to use.
Hi, my name is your name.
And I want to give a shout out to and then somebody else's name.
It could be your mom or your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your husband, your wife, your daughter, whoever.
Let me hear who it is.
And then I will give that person a shout out in a future podcast.
Okay?
Is that cool?
Yeah.
So that's your chance to use this expression.
That's it, everybody.
I got to go rest.
I just bought some medicine.
So I'm going to take this medicine.
Hopefully it will allow me to sleep.
And hopefully I'll wake up in the morning without a sore throat.
Wish me luck.
And I'll be back again tomorrow even if I have a sore throat.
So don't worry about that.
All right.
