Easy english expression rehashed.
Hello everybody, my name is coach shane and welcome to easy english expressions.
Come on, let's master english Coach Shane here.
How are you doing today?
Oh, I love this expression.
Today, EQ number 364, a super useful English phrase.
Enjoy.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is actually related to yesterday's.
Yesterday, we studied to cut in line.
Is cutting in line good?
No, it's not good.
What about if you're standing in line with a friend and you know you're waiting to see the movies?
You're standing in line and while you're standing in line, suddenly you need to go someplace?
Maybe you need to put money in the parking meter or maybe you have to call your mom.
You have to leave for a second, but you don't want to lose your place.
You know, you've been standing in line a long time.
You want the same place.
It's just an emergency.
You need to get a hot dog.
You want to get a Coca-Cola or a coffee.
Well, in this situation, to the person next to you or to your friend, you say, save my spot.
And that's today's expression.
It's a great one.
Save my spot, please.
Would you save my spot?
Oh, I'm sorry.
I'm going to go buy a Coca-Cola.
Would you save my spot?
I'll buy you a Coke too.
It's such a great expression.
Save my, S-A-V-E-M-Y, spot, S-P-O-T.
You can also say save my place.
It's too easy, but it's so useful.
Let's check out a dialogue.
Are you okay?
Oh, man.
I've really got to go to the bathroom.
Could you save my spot?
Sure.
No problem.
Oh, thanks.
I'll be back quick.
Yes.
And that has happened to me.
Standing in line and suddenly, I don't know why, but suddenly I've got to go to the bathroom so bad.
You know, I'm dancing.
It looks like I'm listening to music, but I'm not.
I'm just dancing.
And oh my God, it's driving me nuts.
My eyes are actually turning yellow.
I'm not joking.
Oh, yeah.
Gotta go to the bathroom.
Could you save my spot?
Would you save my spot, please?
Could you save my spot?
Save my spot, please?
I'll be right back.
I'll be back quick.
It is an excellent expression.
If you are ever standing in line, I hope that you remember this expression.
Practice the dialogue two more times.
Uh, are you okay?
