Easy English Expression, rehashed.
Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Coach Shane here, back with EQ number 328.
This is a great expression you're going to learn, especially if you've been sick or maybe in the hospital.
Yeah, this is a great expression.
We can use it in other situations, too.
If you have a question about this expression, go to my community and ask.
School.com, S-K-O-O-L dot com slash L-M-E.
I'll see you in the community.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is very good if you have been sick or if you know somebody that has been sick.
Or maybe they were sick or, I don't know, maybe they had a broken foot.
Something like that.
Maybe they were very depressed.
But now they're feeling good and they're walking around.
They're happy.
We have the expression up and about.
He is up and about.
Oh, it is nice to see you up and about.
To be up, standing up, moving around, and about, walking, going from place to place.
Up and about.
It's a great expression.
Once again, I hope that none of you have been sick.
But if you were, maybe this winter, maybe you had the flu or something.
Wait a minute, people in Brazil and Chile, it was summer.
Well anyway, maybe you had the flu, but now you're feeling good, you're feeling healthy and you're up and about.
That's what I like to hear.
Let's check out the dialogue.
John, you're back.
Yes, I'm completely recovered.
Good to see you up and about.
It's good to be back.
Now we've all been sick, but can you remember the sickest you were?
Like, were you actually in bed for a day or a couple of days?
For me.
I remember gosh.
This was about I don't know 10 years ago, 15 years ago, about 15 years ago.
I was really sick and gosh, I think for at least two days, I was completely in bed.
But for about four days, I couldn't do anything.
I was really sick, just – and it was nothing – it was just a cold or, I guess, a flu or, But anyway, it was so terrible, my goodness, and I thought I was going to die.
But I recovered, and soon after, about a week later, I was completely up and about.
What about you?
When was the last time you were sick?
Isn't being up and about so much better?
So if you have a friend or a family member or a co-worker who has been sick and now they're back to work, they're feeling better.
Maybe they were sick and they recovered, or maybe they were in the hospital and now they're out of the hospital.
You can see, oh, it's good that you are up now.
That's today's expression.
Stay healthy, everybody.
And together, let's master English.
John, you're back.
Yes, I'm completely recovered.
Good to see you up and about.
It's good to be back.
John, you're back.
Yes, I'm completely recovered.
Good to see you up and about.
It's good to be back.
Thanks so much for listening.
