Easy English Expression, rehashed!
Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English!
Coach Shane here.
I am back, as always.
TGIF, everybody.
I hope that you have a great weekend.
We have a super expression today, number 292.
And don't forget, I want you guys to join my community, school.com slash LME.
S-K-O-O-L dot C-O-M slash L-M-E.
We got free lessons.
There's challenges.
There's so much to do.
It's a great, fantastic community.
So I will see.
And you can talk to me there.
I will see you there.
Enjoy the podcast.
Let's go back in time.
Right now I'm on vacation.
Yes.
So I'm not checking my computer.
I'm not checking the calendar.
I'm not checking my phone.
I'm doing my best to stay offline.
But every couple of days I need to make some podcasts and this is one of those days.
Now, my vacation ends today.
In the beginning of March, March 2015, Monday, I will be back in the saddle.
And by the way, this podcast is brought to you by my classes.
I want you to join before I am back in the saddle, okay?
I'll talk about that later.
Today's expression is...
Back in the saddle.
Yes, I've already used it twice.
Back in the saddle.
It's a great expression.
Back, B-A-C-K, to be back, to be doing something again, to come back home, to go home again.
So you were at home, then you left, then you came back, you are there again.
Okay, today I am back again for another podcast.
Yesterday I made a podcast.
Today I am back.
I am here again to make a podcast.
Back in the saddle, S-A-D-D-L-E.
Do you know what a saddle is?
Well, it's easy.
It's what a cowboy sits on.
Of course, cowboys ride horses, correct?
And when they're on a horse, they sit on a saddle, S-A-D-D-L-E.
Now, when cowboys work, where do they work?
Do they work at the office?
No, they work on the horse.
That's where their job is.
So if the cowboy is back in the saddle, that means he is working again.
He is doing his thing again.
To be back in the saddle means to be back at work.
Or let's say your favorite sport is tennis.
But you hurt your arm so for several weeks you could not play tennis.
But today your arm is feeling good.
You are back in the saddle.
You are playing tennis again.
It's a great expression.
Let's check out the dialogue.
Hey, long time no see.
Yeah, I was super busy.
Ah, it's good to see you exercising again.
Yes, I'm back in the saddle.
There you go, yeah.
So, once again, in about a week...
I'll be back in the saddle.
I'll be back doing my classes.
You know what?
I'm really excited.
March 2015.
Oh, we've got so many things happening.
We've got my YouTube channels Daily Dictation, Coach Shane's ESL Pronounce It Right and, of course, E-Cubed.
Daily Easy English.
Those channels will all be busy with new videos.
We've got our podcast, of course this podcast, the E-Cubed podcast and the Let's Master English podcast.
We'll be back.
I'm really excited about that.
So there are so many things happening.
Also, my classes, DDM.
It's the greatest class for listening skills, pronunciation skills.
And we have live classes where you can join me, ask questions and practice.
It's such a fantastic class.
DDM.
We have several levels for the busy person, for the not so busy person, for the person who needs to master English.
I'm serious.
Join DDM.
Also the same for Perf.
Perf, I'm really excited.
Perf is my speaking class.
Perf is a speaking class.
Each week, I give you a different speaking assignment.
And you do your best.
I mean, what can you do?
You have to practice.
And with Perf Live, it's going to be even better.
I'm excited.
I hope you're excited.
Once again, join me.
So what about you?
Uh, when have you been back in the saddle?
Do you have a sport?
Did you get injured?
Did you hurt yourself?
Did you take some time off and then now you're doing it again?
Maybe you have a girlfriend, a boyfriend, and the relationship was really good, but then the relationship was bad.
But now you talk to each other and things are okay and you're back in the saddle.
Things are regular.
Things are back to normal.
The relationship is working again.
You are working at the job again.
You are doing what it is you are supposed to be doing.
You are back in the saddle.
All right, guys, that's it for today.
Once again, I got a couple more days of vacation.
I'm really excited.
And then I'm also super excited to be back in the saddle.
Together, let's master English.
Hey, long time no see.
Yeah, I was super busy.
Ah, it's good to see you exercising again.
Yes, I'm back in the saddle.
