Wasn't that delicious?
So good.
Your bill, ladies.
I got it.
No, I got it.
Seriously, I insist.
I insisted first.
Oh, don't be silly.
You don't be silly.

Easy English Expression, rehashed.
Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
G.I.F.
Thank God it's Friday.
Coach Shane here.
So we are way in advance right now.
It is what September 26th something like that.
Yeah.
But you know in different parts of the world they are they celebrate holidays at different times.
In America, the big holiday season is in December.
And that's kind of like from the middle of December right up until the very beginning of January.
And we have a fantastic expression to use during this period.
But right now in China I know coming up, they have National Week, but they also have the Mid-Autumn Festival.
So there's kind of like two holidays happening at the same time.
What about in your country?
If you have more than one holiday happening close to each other, then today's expression is perfect.
Check it out.
Number 232.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is perfect for this time of year.
It is happy holidays.
Happy holidays.
So, as you know, December 25th is Christmas.
And that, of course, is a Christian holiday.
But many people who are not Christians still celebrate Christmas.
They think of Santa Claus and of charity, of giving and helping to other people.
But there's also Hanukkah, which is a Jewish holiday.
There's Kwanzaa, which is a holiday celebrated somewhere in Africa.
And I think right now in the Muslim world, there's a holiday called Ayn, if I'm correct.
I hope my pronunciation is okay.
And then we have New Year's.
Of course, December 31st and January 1st is a big day or two days of the year for many, many people.
In Russia, I think January 7th is the Russian New Year.
And then there's the Chinese New Year coming up, also celebrated in other countries like Korea and Japan the Lunar New Year.
I think that's in January.
Perhaps it's in February.
So there are many holidays coming up.
And that's why, to respect all the different cultures, we have the expression, happy holidays.
It can mean everything from Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Happy Russian New Year, to Happy Ein, to Happy Hanukkah, to whatever.
Happy Holidays.
And right now, to all of you, I want to say Happy Holidays.
Happy Holidays.
Huh?
Oh yeah, it's almost Christmas.
You forgot?
No, I've just been so busy.
Yeah.
I think – I don't know.
As time goes by, maybe as I get older, the holidays, they're just busier and busier and busier.
Not just with work but with friends and shopping and preparation and cooking, and there's just no time.
Yeah, I hope.
If you are experiencing a holiday within the next week, or two or a couple weeks, I hope that you are able to fully relax, to spend it with your family, to enjoy the time together and to have a truly happy holiday season.
So that's it.
It's time, everybody.
It's December for me right now.
It's December 19th, 10 p.m.
And I need to say happy holidays to everybody.
Whatever your religion background culture, if you got something coming up, at least you have January 1st.
So that's a holiday.
So happy holidays to you all.
Listen to the dialogue two more times.
Happy holidays.
Huh?
Oh yeah, it's almost Christmas.
You forgot?
No, I've just been so busy.
Happy holidays.
Huh?
Oh yeah, it's almost Christmas.
You forgot?
No, I've just been so busy.
Thanks so much for listening.
