Today's expression, very useful.
I can't help but do something.
something I can't help but do something I cannot help but do something that means I have to do something nothing can stop me from doing it oh I must do something so for example I can't help but laugh if you say I can't help but laugh that means nothing can stop you from laughing you have to laugh you must laugh even if it's not super funny or even if you're not supposed to laugh you laugh so for example if you're watching Jim Carrey and you think to to yourself, oh, this is so stupid, but you laugh anyway.
You might say, oh, I couldn't help but laugh.
It was so stupid I had to laugh.
Or maybe you're at church, or the mosque, or the synagogue, and everybody is praying.
But for some reason, your brother hits you, or your brother starts Starts to fall asleep or says the wrong words and you start laughing.
You can't help but laugh.
It's too funny. Maybe the grandfather in front of you, maybe he farts.
You're not supposed to laugh in church, but you can't help but laugh.
It's a great expression.
It's very useful. And the dialogue is perfect.
Check it out. uh uh uh uh uh what are you doing i'm eating more cake you are supposed to be on a diet but it's so good i can't help but eat it yes that's a perfect example somebody who is on a diet they're trying to lose weight of course they should not be eating cake and cookies and ice cream, deep fried foods, pizza, hamburgers, french fries.
But sometimes, it tastes so good.
Oh, you can't stop.
You can't help but eat those those delicious foods, even though you're on a diet, even though you shouldn't, even though you must stop.
You can't. You can't help but eat those delicious foods.
I hope my daily podcast is that way.
