Easy English expression.
Rehashed! Hello, everybody.
My name is Coach Shane, and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello, everybody. How are you doing?
Coach Shane here. It's Tuesday.
Oh, my goodness, it's a beautiful Tuesday.
Blue skies, nice weather.
I hope you are not feeling today's expression.
It is great. Check it out.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is a good one.
Actually, it's a bad one.
To feel boxed in. To feel boxed in.
To feel boxed in. Okay so, to feel boxed in means basically to feel trapped.
To feel like you're in a prison.
You have no freedom.
so maybe you're in a relationship and you feel boxed in you can't breathe you have no freedom you don't like it if you feel that way then you should probably get out of that relationship or maybe you have a job and you feel boxed in you can't be creative, you can't give your opinion, oh boy that's terrible.
If you feel boxed in at your job going to work every day that'll be pure misery, no fun, no fun at all.
Maybe in your family you've got a couple of brothers and sisters, your mom and dad, but you feel boxed in.
Well, all kids feel that way.
don't don't feel too bad one day you'll be old enough to be free to get out of that box and be careful when you get out of the box sometimes the box is very safe let's check out a dialogue sue wants to break up with me why you guys seem happy she says she feels boxed in you are a bit intense oh yeah and yes that guy sounds a little bit intense and I can imagine if you are in a relationship with somebody who's very intense you might feel boxed in now I'll be honest I feel boxed in I do why because of where I live.
I live in the middle of a desert and so hot and I can't go out in the daytime.
I feel like a prisoner in my house.
I want to enjoy nature and get outside.
But the sun, the UV rays are too high.
The temperature is just too hot.
Yesterday it was 43 degrees.
I'm dying! So my goal, if I can, if it's possible, maybe at the end of this year is to move up north where it's much colder and then hopefully I'll be able to enjoy the outdoors, to go hiking and maybe fishing in the wintertime, maybe some skiing, cross -country skiing, maybe even some hunting.
If I could do that, I would not feel boxed in that's for sure how about you do you ever feel boxed in suffocated like you can't breathe trapped like you're in a prison tell us in which situation do you feel boxed in and maybe by talking about it it will help you make a plan to break free let's check out that dialogue two more times Sue wants to break up with me.
Why? You guys seem happy.
She says she feels boxed in.
Uh, you are a bit intense.
Sue wants to break up with me.
Why? You guys seem happy.
She says she feels boxed in.
You are a bit intense.
Thanks so much for listening.
