Easy English expression rehashed Hello, everybody, my name is Coach Shane, and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Coach Shane here on your beautiful Saturday.
I save sometimes the best expressions for the weekend because anybody who is actually studying English on the weekend and, oh I love you.
You are cool. You are tough.
You are hardcore. The other people who don't, you know they're a bit weak.
They're softer. They're nice.
I understand. They're tired.
But the fact that you are studying on the weekend, you are tough.
And that is all about today's expression.
It's great. Number 125.
Listen to it. Use it.
Learn it. You can use this expression too.
And if you use it to your husband ooh Wow Cool.
Alright. Enjoy. Let's go back in time Today's expression is so excellent.
It's one of my favorite expressions Man it up Man it up.
Come on boy man it up man it up So this is a phrasal verb to man up, M -A -N -U -P.
And the expression is man it up.
So what does it mean to man it up?
It means act like a man.
Don't act like a child.
Don't act like a baby.
Act like a man. Don't be weak and emotional like a woman.
Uh oh, now all the ladies will be mad at me.
I'm sorry, that's what we think.
Man it up. There are some guys who just are not manly enough.
They're weaker than some of the weakest women.
Those guys need to man it up.
Man it up. You know, yesterday, not yesterday, about a week ago, there was a little bit of rain, it was raining out here.
not many people carry an umbrella because it hardly ever rains.
Well, there was a guy and he looked like a pretty tough guy.
He was a big guy with a mustache, tattoos on his arms. And he stepped outside and he felt the rain coming down and what did he say?
This is exactly what he said.
Oh my God! It's the store and I was thinking to myself, oh my god!
Little girls in Sunday dresses are tougher than you, motorcycle baby man!
Man it up! Come on!
Let's check out a dialogue.
Dad, I'm tired. Can we rest?
Only a little more to the top.
My legs hurt, dad! Man it up, son.
Man it up! Be a man.
Be strong. Don't be weak.
Mentally, physically, emotionally.
Be strong. Be like a man.
Okay, let's be honest. Some men, perhaps, many men, perhaps most men are actually not that strong.
I think behind every strong man, there's possibly a stronger woman." Yeah that might be true.
But I'm sorry ladies we do not have the expression woman it up.
However, you can actually say this expression to women.
It's not common but pretty funny.
So I can imagine there are two ladies and they're drinking together and one lady says to the other, let's have some whiskey and the other woman says, oh no, whiskey's too strong and the first woman says, come on you man it up, man it up.
That would be pretty funny and I really think that conversation could take place.
Now, another time this expression is horrible if a woman, especially the wife or girlfriend, tells her husband or boyfriend to man it up.
That's not cool, guys.
Guys, you should always be a man.
I don't know what your definition of being a man is, but we have an idea and I'm around the world it's pretty similar man it up let's check out that dialogue two more times dad I'm tired can we rest only a little more to the top my legs hurt dad man it up son man it up dad I'm tired can we rest only a little more to top.
My legs hurt dad. Man it up son man it up.
