In our last DDM assignment, which is our Listening Course, it's so great.
at the very end of the lesson I included a song called Hey yeah because of the lyrics shake it shake it shake it like a Polaroid picture but what's interesting and why I talk about that in today's podcast is the name of the band is Outcast and that's what we're gonna learn about in today's Pod -cast. Enjoy!
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is the black sheep.
Probably many of you know this expression.

The black B -L -A -C -K sheep.
S -H -E -E -P. Now when we say sheep.
What color do you think of?
Of course. Whites. White is everybody thinks of white.
It's the most common color for sheep.
Are there black sheep?
Well sure. Are they common?
No. If you have a bunch of white sheep together and one black sheep, can you see the black sheep?
Yeah. When we use this expression to describe somebody he's a black sheep I'm the black sheep is it a positive meaning or a negative meaning yeah it's kind of negative it doesn't have to be the hated person or the the person that nobody wants to be with it doesn't necessarily mean that it means the strange person the person who's different the person that if you're if children are picking a team the black sheep would probably be picked last hmm after the fat kid oh I'm just teasing and that's that's to be honest when I was in school do you think I was a popular kid or do you think I was the black
sheep I was the black sheep absolutely and I know you know probably thinking, oh but Shane you're funny!
Well I think I developed humor so that I could have more friends.
I was different, you know, I wasn't weird but just different.
And to be honest, when I went to high school in my grade, my level, my age students, I didn't really have any close friends.
All my friends were older.
One, two, three years older than me.
To be honest, I guess I was too smart.
No, I was just a black sheep.
I was just strange.
I was different. There's nothing wrong with being a black sheep.
However, when you're a child and you're a black sheep, it's horrible.
yeah so so if you're young, if you see somebody or know somebody that's kind of a black sheep, just be nice.
You don't have to you know invite them to birthday parties and sit next to them at lunchtime but just be nice that's all.
Don't tease them. That's the last thing a black sheep needs.

Today we heard it again and that's right.
Lots of children who are mature for their age, they're a black sheep.
Yeah. Lots of children who are childish for their age, they usually don't have so many problems. It's kind of interesting.
Yeah so, once again, personally, you know, black sheep, if my son or daughter becomes a black sheep, that's okay.
I'll be there to support them and to encourage them.
And I'll also beat up the other kids who tease them.
