i'm gonna guess you are but most people are not so i'll just say if you're actually listening to this on a saturday or even a sunday i mean you know a day off i mean by the way happy ramadan uh you know like today is a holiday for so many people international women's day international women's day um i just gotta say you are a superstar are.
You are the top 1%.
Oh, I'm not joking.
People who actually invest in their future are very few.
We like to watch TV.
We like to, you know, entertain ourselves.
We like to rest and sleep.
But if you're investing in yourself intellectually into English, oh my God, oh my God, You are top 1%, so you're awesome.
Again, it is International Women's Day, so first of all, ladies, if you saw my post, I tried to post it as many places as possible.
This is what I said.
I said, teachers are our future.
Well, maybe children are our future.
But in reality, women are our future.
And because we uplift women, we uplift our future.
Very important. I want you to listen to that again if you don't understand.
And I hope that you agree.
I mean, if you don't agree, then you shouldn't listen to this podcast.
It's the truth. It's just reality.
So I'm not really interested in celebrating one person over another person.
However, when we consider womenhood, that's our future, in my opinion.
and I'm just an English teacher, so don't listen to me.
Unless you're learning English, and today we've got a great expression.

Today's expression is a very good one.
On call. To be on call.
I'm on call. Are you on call?
On call. Two words.
O -N -C -A -L -L. And if you are on call, then that means you aren't working right now, but your boss might call you any time to come in to work.
On call. So, the perfect idea would be a doctor.
You might see a doctor playing golf, but the doctor is always looking at his pager.
Do doctors have pagers anymore?
No, probably not. Their cell phone, and they're always checking their cell phone because they know if there is an emergency, then they must go to the hospital.
They are on call. So, when you are on call, can you really relax?
No. You can go to a restaurant and you can go to the health club or maybe even go swimming or go to the park or something like that, go to the movies, but you must always be watching your phone because at any moment, the boss could call.
Yep. The life of being on call is no fun.
Let's check out a dialogue.
Hey Parmy, let's have lunch.
I can't. I'm on call.
The boss again? Yep.
As soon as he calls, I gotta go.
That's right. Now, people on call, there are actually lots of different people.
Not only doctors, and actually many of my students are doctors, But also computer programmers and security analysts for computers and things like that.
Yeah, something if you have a business that operates 24 hours a day, then somebody working in that business is on call.
I guarantee they might not be at the company, but they are near the company or ready to come in.
they are on call. And also, if you're a husband or maybe a wife or a son or a daughter, trust me, you are on call.
If your wife is wondering where you are and you are out drinking with your friends, as soon as she calls, you must answer the phone and maybe you must go home in that situation.
you are on call. Let's say you're a guy and you're out drinking with your friends and one of your friends says, why do you keep checking your phone?
You can say, I'm on call.
My wife might call me.
That's a true and funny situation.
All right, let's check that dialogue out two more times.
