Easy English expression.
Rehashed! Hello, everybody.
My name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Coach Shane here. How you doing?
Thursday. Is it Thursday for you?
November 14th. How cool is that?
The weekend is coming up.
I hope that you have some plans for the weekend.
Perhaps just rest. Hopefully, you don't have any work to do.
Today, we have a really good expression.
It is a phrasal verb and it is something that you do not want to hear from your boss or your teacher, professor.
No, you do not want to hear this expression, but you need to know it.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is do it over.
Do it over. Do it over.
Do it over. D -O -I -T -O -V -E -R.
Do it over. Do it over.
What does do it over mean?
It means do it again.
So, you did something and you're finished and you show your boss or you show your mom or you show your teacher and your boss, your mother, your teacher says, no, no, no, that's not good.
Do it over. Do it over.
Sometimes I know my podcast is no good.
So, if it's really bad, please tell me to do it over and maybe I will.
Let's check out a dialogue.
How do you like my picture?
Hmm, what is it? It's a picture of a bear.
Oh, you should do it over.
No, that's not nice.
If a little child draws a picture, we should encourage him or her and say it was good and then offer them some help.
Don't just say do it over.
However, to an adult like me, you can tell me to do it over if I make some horrible mistake.
Do it over. Oh yes, those words are not really good to hear, especially if you worked really hard on something.
So, do it over. It's pretty darn simple.
Let's listen to the dialogue again.
How do you like my picture?
What is it? It's a picture of a bear.
Oh, you should do it over.
How do you like my picture?
