Today's expression is to stock up on something.
To stock up on something.
S -T -O -C -K, stock up, U -P.
To stock up on something.
So we have a phrasal verb, stock up, and almost always we have on attached to it and then a noun.
To stock up on Coca -Cola.
To stock up on cigarettes.
To stock up on cookies.
Actually, yesterday I went to the store and I stocked up on cat food.
What does this mean, to stock up on something?
To stock up on something means to buy a lot of something.
To buy a huge amount of something.
So normally when I buy cat food, I just get one small bag.
However, the place where I get cat food is located very far from my house.
About eight kilometers.
And I don't have a car.
So my dad took me, thank you very much dad, and because he's very busy, I cannot ask my dad to take me every time I need cat food.
So I bought a lot of cat food.
I bought three bags of cat food.
I stocked up on cat food.
This is a great expression.
And if you're like me, somebody who hates to go shopping, it's best to stock up on things when you go.
So the next time I go to the store, I know already I will need to stock up on toilet paper.
Yeah, sorry, let's check out a dialogue.
What are you getting at the store?
I'm gonna stock up on water.
What about cookies?
Those two. Yay! Oh yes, I do like to stock up on cookies and chocolates.
Yeah, I like to stock up, I usually like to stock up on meat too.
I like to buy as much meat as I can if the meat is on sale.
What about you? When you go to the store, do you just buy a little bit of something and go to the store frequently?
Or are you like me?
Do you hate going to the store?
