Easy English expression rehashed.
Hello, everybody. My name is Coach Shane, and welcome to Easy English expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Coach Shane here. Thank you very much for listening to the E cubed Easy English expression rehash going back to the beginning today.
Number six, you know, uh, I'm not young anymore.
I'm not super old, but I'm certainly not young.
And today's expression is an expression I use almost every day.
Maybe you two. What is it?
It's coming up. Let's go back in time.
My knee went out. My knee, K N E E.
My knee went out. What does this mean?
My knee went shopping.
No, no, no, no. It means my knee is in pain.
I twisted my knee. I hurt my knee.
Something's wrong with my knee.
My knee hurts. We can also say my back went out.
That means your back is really sore and it's difficult to move.
So if your knee goes out, or if your back goes out, you are in pain.
It's difficult to move.
And I tell you, as I get older, one week, my knee goes out.
The next week, my back goes out.
The next week, my neck goes out.
What can I do? Let's check out a dialogue.
You want to play some basketball this weekend?
I'd love to, but my knee went out.
How did that happen?
When I was playing soccer.
Listen to the pronunciation again.
My knee went out. If we say it really fast, went out, the first T, the T in went, can actually be canceled.
My knee went out. My knee went out.
But if you say it slowly, keep the T.
Okay? My knee went out.
My knee went out. My knee went out.
My knee went out. And some students asked if my stomach is in pain.
Can I say my stomach went out?
No, no, you can't. We use this for joints and for muscles.
But once again, especially for the knee and the back, the neck, the elbow, the wrist, and the ankle.
Sometimes the hips too.
Those are the most common.
So once again, I hope your knee never goes out.
Anything like that.
You want to play some basketball this weekend?
No, I'd love to, but my knee went out.
Ouch! How did that happen?
When I was playing soccer.
