It's imagination time with Katie. Hi friends. you're listening to Super Simple Imagination Time with Katie.
We read a review of our podcast that called Imagination Time, the best toddler podcast out there.
Thank you so much for that. The review also said, when they finally release a down by the Bay episode, I might start excited crying.
Well, my friend. Get out the tissues because this episode is inspired by the super simple song down by the bay.
And we're about to get super silly. Here we go!
It's good to be with you my friend. Hello.
I'm glad we're together again We've got Zach on the keys Katie singing, la la la la la.
We'll have some fun in our imagination. Go on adventures again and again.
Hello. Hello! It's good to be with you, my friend!
Oh, hi! I'm Katie and this is Zach. Hello, hello.
Hey, Zach. Hey, have you ever seen a frog walking a dog?
Nope, can't say that I have. What about a bear combing his hair?
I don't think so. Those would be very silly things to see, wouldn't they?
I don't think I've ever seen a frog walking a dog or a bear combing his hair in real life either.
But I imagine that they would be pretty funny things to see.
You know, I've heard of a place where funny things like that happen all the time. in our imaginations?
Well, anything is possible in our imaginations, but I'm thinking of a different place. a place where ducks drive trucks and spiders fly in gliders.
A place where the watermelons grow. Oh, I think I know.
Yeah, you got it. I'm talking about down by the bay a silly place where anything is possible.
As long as it rhymes. Today, let's use our imaginations to go down by the bay together.
You never know what we might see. Before we get going, Let's take a moment to calm our minds and relax our bodies.
Because it's about to get really silly in here.
Are you ready, Zach? Ready, Katie. Are you ready, friends?
Let's take a deep breath altogether. In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one. Let's imagine what a place down by the bay might look like.
I imagine I see a bay of blue water. with waves gently rolling onto a beach.
A little further from the water, I imagine, grass starts to grow up a sloping hill.
The grass gently sways as a breeze comes off the bay.
And I imagine I see watermelons in the grass.
Big watermelons growing down by the bay.
Can you see it in your mind? Maybe you can imagine you hear the waves from down in the bay.
I imagine it's a beautiful place. Let's take one more deep breath all together.
In one, two, three, hold it. Out three, two, one.
It's a beautiful place, but it's also a very silly place.
Let's keep an eye out for anything interesting.
Down by the bay Where the watermelons grow Back to my home I dare not go For if I do, my mother will say Did you ever see a bee drinking some tea down by the bay?
A bee drinking tea. That's pretty silly.
Oh, do you hear that? It sounds like a buzzing bee.
I don't see it though. These are pretty small.
We'll have to look carefully. Look around, look around Look around and see what can be found Oh, I imagine I see it.
It's flying high in the sky, buzzing all around.
I imagine it's doing loop-de-loops and big circles.
Wow! Can you see it in your mind? I imagine the bee is flying down, coming closer to the ground, and lands gently on a watermelon.
The bee is taking a little rest. Maybe the bee would like some tea while they rest.
A B drinking tea. Let's see. Oh, even more rhymes.
Let's pretend to make some T for the B. Let's gather the things we need.
Getting ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready to make tea.
Now, the bee is very small, so the tea cup We'll have to be very teeny tiny.
I imagine I see the teeny tiny teacup sitting on a teeny tiny dish.
Let's imagine pouring the hot water into the teacup very carefully. and dropping in the smallest little tea bag that you ever did see.
Such a teeny, tiny tea bag. The tea is brewing just a little longer.
There! It's ready! Getting ready, ready, ready, getting ready, ready, ready to give a piece of tea.
This is super silly. Do bees even like tea?
I guess we'll find out. I imagine bringing the teeny tiny teacup over to the bee.
Hello bee! Would you like some tea? I imagine the bee reaches out with its teeny tiny arms, takes the teacup, and sips the tea.
The bee likes it. It's a bee drinking some tea.
What do you know? I guess anything really is possible down by the bay.
I'm glad you enjoyed your tea, little bee.
Oh! But now, what do we do with our dirty dish?
What's that little bee? I think the bee says there is someone who can help us wash the dish down by the water.
Okay, lead the way, little bee. Let's imagine following the bee down to the water.
The B goes buzzing one by one, hurrah, hurrah The B goes buzzing one by one, hurrah Hurrah!
The bee goes buzzing one by one The little one stops to have some fun And they all go buzzing high in the sky To get back to the high buzz buzz buzz buzz I'm certainly having fun down by the bay.
Okay, little bee, where is this person who can help us with the dirty dish?
Oh, it's not a person? It's a fish. A fish washing a dish?
Down by the bay Where the watermelons grow Back to my home I dare not go For if I do My mother will say Did you ever see a fish washing a dish down by the bay?
I'll believe anything down by the bay. The fish must be in the water.
How are we going to get out into the water so we can get the dish to the fish, and the fish can wash the dish?
I'm thinking a thought I'm thinking a lot Hmm.
We need an idea. Let's work with what we've got.
I know. We need a boat. Can you imagine a rowboat in your mind?
Hey, Katie, you know who rose in a boat around here, don't you?
I think I do, Zach! Down by the bay Where the watermelons grow Back to my home I dare not go For if I do My mother will say, did you ever see a goat rowing a boat down by the bay?
I imagine I see a goat skipping from where the watermelons grow down towards the water.
Can you see the go in your mind? It goes right up to the rowboat and hops in.
I imagine the goat is sitting up and using its hooves to row the paddles and take the boat out onto the water.
Don't forget the dirty dish. Oh, wait, little goat.
Can you take this dish to a fish? The fish is going to wash the dish.
I imagine the goat knows exactly what we're talking about.
The goat takes the dish and rose out to the middle of the bay.
Row, row, row your boat Gently down the stream Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary, life is like a dream.
It feels like a dream down by the bay watching a goat row a boat.
I imagine the boat is way out in the bay now.
Can you see it in your mind? Oh! What's that splash?
I imagine a fish jumps up over the boat.
The fish grabs the dish from the goat in the boat and takes the dish underwater.
Whoa! I guess the fish is busy washing the dish.
Then the fish will give the dish back to the goat in the boat.
I wonder how long it's gonna take for the fish to wash the dish.
Waiting, waiting, we're patient as we're waiting.
Splash! There's the fish! Oh, it has the dish!
And it's all clean. I can see it sparkling from way over here.
Thank you, little fish. Wow. We have seen so many incredible and silly things down by the bay.
Down by the bay Where the watermelons grow Back to my home I dare not Well, we will have to go back home eventually.
But we can come back and visit down by the bay anytime we like in our imaginations.
It's fun to imagine all sorts of interesting things, and to get a little silly sometimes.
Like, let's see. Did you ever see a dragon pulling off?
Wagon? Yeah! Or... Did you ever see a snail delivering the mail?
All sorts of silly things can happen down by the bay and in our imaginations.
Thanks for getting silly with us today. It was really fun spending some imagination time down by the bay with you.
