Hi, this is Sophia Cartman, host of the Dream Big Podcast show, a place to learn, laugh, and grow.
Big Dreamers, have you ever woken up in a bad mood, feeling tired, grumpy or just not excited about the day ahead?
I've been there too.
And in this episode I'm sharing a real story of how one of those grumpy mornings turned into something completely unexpected.
It's a reminder that what we think, what we say and what energy we bring to the day really does shape what happens next.
So if you've ever had a meh morning or just a blah day, Stay tuned, because this episode might change the way you start your mornings forever.
This is episode 449 of the Dream Big podcast and it's time to dream big.
Welcome back, big dreamers.
Today's episode is super personal and a little bit surprising.
It's about something I learned the hard way, but also something that could change your life if you really take it in happened one morning I woke up and I was just not feeling it.
I was tired, I was grumpy, I felt sad and kind of off and I remember saying in my head uh, I don't want to go to school, this is gonna be the worst day ever.
I didn't try to change my thoughts.
I just kept thinking how tired I was.
How much I didn't want to go.
And guess what?
I went to school anyway.
At first, things were okay.
My friends were around.
We laughed a little.
And then I started to feel better.
But then... lunch happened.
During lunch, we were talking, we were having fun, and out of nowhere, I tripped.
Not like tripped, I really tripped.
I fell hard right onto my arm.
My right arm.
I couldn't move it.
It hurt a lot.
I had to go to the school nurse and then me and my mom had to go straight to urgent care.
We sat in the emergency room waiting for x-rays.
And while we were sitting there, we thought wow, what if this whole day was connected to how I started it?
Now, big dreamers, do I think that thinking a negative thought caused me to fall?
Not exactly.
Here's what I know for sure.
Our energy creates our reality.
And what we focus on grows.
When I woke up and told myself this is going to be the worst day ever, I already decided the day would be bad.
I walked into the day with low energy, a negative mindset, and zero excitement.
That energy stuck to me like glue until I shifted it.
But by then, the day had already taken a pretty rough turn.
And don't worry, my arm is not broken.
It's just a sprain.
But here are a few lessons that I learned that day.
Every day you make a choice.
You can choose your thoughts.
You can choose your energy.
You can choose to expect good things or bad things.
And the cool part?
You don't even have to be fake happy.
Even if you wake up tired or sad, you can still choose a better thought.
Like, today may be a tough day.
But I am going to look for the good.
I'm creating a great day, one step at a time.
Let's see what fun surprise the day has for me.
Because how you start your day often shapes how the rest of the day flows.
So big dreamers, tomorrow morning, before you even get out of bed, set an intention.
Say to yourself, today is going to be a great day.
I choose to have fun today.
I am grateful, strong, and I am ready.
Even if you're tired, even if you're a little grumpy.
You can still shift your energy with the words and your thoughts.
Because you are so powerful.
And your energy, it's like a magnet.
It pulls in more of what you're putting out.
So start your day.
With the energy that you want to bring into this world.
That's where the real magic happens.
