Quiet on the set.
I need quiet on the set.
Welcome, my friends.
Yay!
Welcome to The Eagle's View.
The podcast where Emerson students share their voices, ideas, and creativity with the world.
I'm Layla, a fourth grader who loves figure skating and Lego.
And I'm Santi, a fourth grader who enjoys football and math.
We'll be your hosts today.
In this episode we have Michigan basketball, NBA top five Zabonky, snowboarding and, as always, the joke of the week.
We've got so much to share.
So let's get started.
You're listening to the Eagle View!
Awesome!
The Penny Challenge at Everson School.
Hi, I'm Aria, and today we're going to be talking about the Penny Challenge at Everson School.
If you don't know what the Penny Challenge at Everson School is, let me tell you.
The Penny Challenge is when young fives through 8th grade compete to see who can fold the tube the highest with coins.
Now that you know what the Penny Challenge is, let me tell you.
This coin challenge benefits our playground.
So let me tell you the rankings.
Right now, Young Five's kindergarten is in first place, and no one seems they're going to beat them.
And in second place is seventh grade.
And in third place is third grade.
Yippee, that's my grade.
And in fourth place is first grade.
And fifth place is fifth grade.
And second grade is in sixth place.
And in the last three is fourth grade, sixth grade, and eighth grade.
That's all the rankings.
So remember to bring your coins in and put them in the tubes.
Hi, my name is Usher, and I love Michigan basketball because I play basketball.
And I met Yaxel Lindenborg and Andy Morrow.
And two years ago, I had season tickets for Michigan basketball.
My prediction was that they were going to make it to the final four in March Madness.
Go Blue!
Oh man, that was loud.
Hi, my name is Aki and I'm in second grade.
March Madness is a NCAA men's basketball tournament.
It's really competitive.
The last two winners were Florida and UConn.
There are many different teams that make it.
March Madness is very entertaining.
I think you should watch it soon.
Hi, my name is Lucas and here's the joke of the week.
Why is it so easy to get an egg to laugh?
Because they crack up.
Hi, my name is Rishi.
Hi, my name is Alex.
And today we're going to tell you about the top five buzzer beaters in the 2025 through 2026 season.
Starting with number five, the Pistons beat the 76ers.
The Pistons have the ball with only a couple seconds left in the second quarter.
They give it to Dennis Jenkins, who has to haul it up.
It flies through the hoop.
And he comes down and bangs in the hoop.
What a play before halftime.
And here we come to number four where Pablo Bencaro just inbounded a pass with three seconds left.
Two.
The shot is up.
And he connects with the 26-foot triple that the refs had to review.
Was he on the line? after 10 minutes of reviewing.
Officially, it was a three.
After the game, they declared he was less than a centimeter away.
Phew!
Locking in at number three, we have the 76ers v. the Warriors.
Tyrese Maxey has the ball with seven seconds left in the game.
Six, five, Four, he shoots it and he air balls.
But surprisingly, BJ Edgecombe is there to put it back in the basket.
With .9 left, Buddy Heald chucks it down the court to DeAnthony Melton.
And he tries to lay it up, but Tyrese Maxey denies it.
With the block at the last second to win the game for the Sixers.
As always, there's a number two.
So here we have Devin Booker who inbounds with four seconds left.
Gets past the defense.
Two seconds.
One second.
Shot is up.
And it's good.
Devin Booker with his eighth career game winner.
Woo-wee.
With 1.6 left in the game, the Raptors beat the Hornets.
Sandro Mounavinsky passes it in to Emmanuel Quickly, who hauls a three ball and hits it for the win.
Swish.
Woo-hoo.
What's your top buzzer beater?
Let us know in the comments.
My name's Lucas, and I'm in second grade.
A few years ago, we created toys called Zabonkis.
They're hybrid animals.
There are six of them.
Axel, Charlie, Sean, but Carmelo, Ronan, and Maz call them John John.
After...
Sean slash John John is Sophia, Ricky, and Unity.
You can get them on Amazon.
Hi, my name is Oz and I snowboard.
I have only been two years and I'm pretty good.
Snowboarding was invented in 1965.
I used to ski, but I switched.
The first Olympic snowboarding was in 1998.
I want to watch an Olympic game.
Here's three facts about snowboarding.
Sean White is the best snowboarder in the world, too.
The fastest snowboarder is Jamie Barrow with 203 kilometers.
Three.
The hardest trick in the world is the triple cork, 1,440.
Fresh Powder, go snowboarding!
