Hello. You are listening to my first podcast, a magical world of your daily sounds made just for you and your grown-ups to enjoy together.
I'm Lucy. How are you today? In my first podcast, we listen to all the sounds we can find around us.
There are so many sounds that we hear every day.
Tings. Pings. Clangs. and pops, hisses, tingles, toots, bangs, and boings.
Soft ones. and loud ones. Big sounds and small sounds. long sounds and short ones.
Whisper in your ear sounds and crashing far too noisy sounds.
Each day is filled with sound. And of course, we can make sounds ourselves too.
Did you hear that? I'm making a snorting sound like a pig by breathing in through my mouth and nose.
It does sound like a pig, doesn't it? It's quite a tricky sound to make.
Maybe your grown-up can show you how to make it.
Are you ready for today's sound adventure?
We're going to join twins Max and Finn at a coffee morning.
A coffee morning is a great place for grown-ups to meet, talk and drink coffee while their kids play together, which is great news for Max and Finn.
They get to play with lots of toys. Let's listen to the sounds as Max and Finn go to their first coffee morning with their dad.
Hello Max! Hello Finn! Oh, no. Yeah! I love you.
Yay! Bye! Oh! Oh! Oh my geez. Bye! Bye!
Parent and toddler coffee mornings are busy places and full of interesting and exciting sounds.
Max and Finn had a lovely time. Let's listen again and see if we can name some of the sounds.
Max and Finn are on their way to a friend's house for a coffee morning.
Dad pushes them along the street in their push chair.
They arrive at the house and Dad rings the doorbell.
Ding dong! Someone lets them in. It's quite noisy inside.
There are lots of parents and toddlers and babies.
Dad takes the boys out of their push chair. and sits them down with the other children.
They all play together with the toys. The toys leap and squeak.
Max plays with a toy car. He pushes it back and forth.
The grown-ups sit around the room and drink cups of coffee.
They add milk to their drinks and stir the drink with a teaspoon.
The grown-ups talk a lot. One baby cries, but it's okay.
Mum sues her. The grown-ups drink more coffee and tea.
The cups clink and they slurp their drinks.
Snack time. Dad opens a packet of snacks for Max and Finn.
Lovely crunchy breadsticks. The boys eat their snacks.
It's time for Max and Finn to go home. Dad puts them back in their push chair and takes them outside.
What a busy time they had at the coffee morning!
