China's called on the G20 to strive for broader global cooperation, to jointly cope with challenges and promote development.
Premier Li Cheng made three appeals at the G20 Summit in South Africa to strengthen cooperation on the environment, green energy and food security.
Premier also noted that scientific and technological revolutions present new inequalities and development gaps, as well as opportunities.
He urged the Group of 20 to play its part in promoting openness and sharing opportunities.

Chinese Premier also held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the G20.
He told South Africa's deputy president that China is ready to step up alignment and help more South African products enter the Chinese market.
He also said China will support more companies to invest in South Africa and enhance cooperation in new energy automobiles healthcare, the digital economy and infrastructure.
Premier Li called on the two sides to work with global South countries to promote a more just and equitable international organization.
While speaking with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the premier urged both governments to strengthen dialogue properly, handle differences or concerns rather, and pursue cooperation in emerging fields.
He expressed hope that Germany will encourage the European Union to maintain a long-term perspective on China-EU relations.
Chancellor Merz emphasized Germany's commitment to deepening relations with China and acknowledged the opportunities presented by China's 15th Five-Year Plan.
He expressed readiness to play a constructive role in advancing EU-China dialogue and enhancing coordination with China on global affairs.
China and South Africa have launched an initiative to support modernization on the African continent.
It builds on commitments from the China-Africa Cooperation Forum in Beijing last year, where China announced 10 partnership action plans for a three-year period.
Yelisa Njamula has comments from Chinese and United Nations officials in Johannesburg.
This initiative is part of a broader commitment to deepen cooperation and promote the common development of both countries, internationally and the African continent as a whole.
The initiative on cooperation supporting modernization in Africa was jointly drafted by China and Africa.
Best distinctive African features and it has the cause for Africa's development.
Its features include a huge population going together towards the goal of modernization Common prosperity for all.
We believe each one should not be left behind.
Material and cultural ethnic progress, harmony between humanity and nature and, very importantly, peaceful development.
The initiative also calls on other countries to enhance international cooperation on green infrastructure and green mining.
Green and low carbon development is injecting new impetus into high-quality development of the mineral sector and creating new development opportunities for all countries.
The initiative paints a blueprint providing a feasible path towards green sustainable development in mining.
It elucidates the concepts of green mining and minerals.
It's an initiative that has the backing of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, or UNCTAD.
We at UNCTAD are very committed, very supportive of the initiatives that are being presented and especially we have been participating in the Green Mining and Minerals Initiative that is so close to what we do.
And let me start by saying that somewhere in rural South Africa tonight, a family will turn on lights powered by the sun.
In a village in Ethiopia, a clinic will refrigerate vaccines using battery storage.
And Chinese technology and investments have made very important contributions for these awesome possibilities to exist at all.
The details of the initiative and how it will be rolled out have not yet been announced, but its launch is yet another reminder of the increasing cooperation between China and South Africa, whose impact is being felt in both countries and the wider African continent as well.
That was Elisa and Jamila on cooperation making a difference in Africa.
For more discussion.
Tianyu spoke with Liu Jurchin, a senior fellow at the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Ruman University of China.
So Professor Premier Li highlighted China's leadership in renewable energy and its cooperation with over 100 countries on wind and solar projects.
So how significant is China's role in driving global green energy transition through the G20?
As we know, in the past 10 or 20 years China has tried its best effort to make all the climate conditions in China, with the different policies and efforts that China has achieved, to tremendous and remarkable progress in climate change.
So many countries have seen the effects.
Firstly, China's policy or China's practice is very practical, that all the countries can do it, as China has done.
Because China is the second largest economic and also as a developing country.
So its success, its progress has a very important model for the rest of the world.
The second is that it's sustainable because China's model is sustainable.
It's not for a short time, not for one year or two years.
In the past 10 years, China's climate change conditions are so tremendous and remarkable.
Everybody knows that 30 years before, China was a heavy polluted country in the region.
So nowadays we can see Right, and Premier Li also emphasised China's contributions to AI development, open-source collaboration and international AI governance.
So how might China's approach influence G20 efforts to ensure AI is safe, equitable and widely beneficial?
Countries do not understand the real meaning of AI.
So in this way, China has really exerted a very good effort to tell the rest of the world how to make the AI more safe, more equitable and more beneficial to all.
China has set up this very clear principle, a universal principle for AI development.
That is to mean that AI development to be.
Jurchin, a senior fellow at Renmin University of China.
G20 leaders have adopted a declaration addressing the climate crisis and other global challenges, despite objections from the United States, which boycotted the summit.
Washington will take over the group's presidency, but the traditional handover ceremony has been postponed due to tensions with South Africa.
Julie Shire reports from Johannesburg.
It was a defining moment for South Africa when the G20 reached unanimous agreement on the summit declaration at the very start of proceedings, a rare procedural shift initiated by President Ramaphosa.
A declaration was adopted without objection, despite the US's decision to boycott.
South Africa's presidency has centered on pushing for a fairer global system by tackling inequality and driving development.
There's been overwhelming consensus and agreement that one of the other tasks we should undertake right at the beginning is to execute the task that we have come here for principally, which is, by overwhelming consensus, to adopt our declaration.
The US is next in line to take over the G20 chair, but refused to attend the leaders summit.
South Africa also declined a proposal for the US charge d'affaires to conduct an observer-level handover, meaning the symbolic transfer of the presidency normally done before.
The closing will instead take place later in Pretoria.
The issue of handover.
The president of the Republic of South Africa will not be handing over to the charge d'affaires from the US.
We will be handing over to the US in the DERCO offices or anywhere they may want us to arrange within the borders of the Republic of South Africa.
We remain open, we are very cordial and we are willing to cooperate and to work with them.
This is the very first time where we had an unprecedented situation where one member voluntarily absented themselves and based on that, we had to have a discussion on in this informal group how do we define consensus and how do we deal with consensus.
And we dealt with that through the very first paragraph that says those who gathered here.
And nobody else other than Argentina who raised the concern.
There's overwhelming support for every single paragraph, which was negotiated through consensus in that declaration.
Although there was some disagreement on climate change, South Africa secured strong backing from other nations for its commitment to multilateralism and rules based on global order.
The Johannesburg legacy is especially critical for Africa, as it pushes to break free from crippling debt and assert a greater say in global governance.
That was Julie Shire reporting.
Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, says the turnout at this year's G20 summit, together with the absence of the United States, is the latest sign that the centre of gravity in the global economy is shifting.
Speaking in Johannesburg, Carney said the two-day gathering in South Africa underscored a world increasingly defined by new power centres and rising middle economies.
This year's G20 summit brought together nations representing three-quarters of the world's population, two-thirds of global GDP and three-quarters of the world's trade.
And that's without the United States formally attending.
It's a reminder that the center of gravity in the global economy is shifting.
The last century was defined by concentration of capital, production, and power.
The next one will be defined by diffusion of technology, of energy and influence, by the rise of the Global South and new roles for middle powers like Canada, to multilateral arrangements that work for all.
Carney also said that, while some countries retreat into geopolitical blocks, Canada sees the G20 as a bridge.
On the Russia-Ukraine conflict, he cautioned that President Donald Trump's proposed peace plan still needs a lot of work, even as US and Ukrainian officials claim progress in negotiations.

14 minutes past the hour.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi welcomed Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan's reaffirmation of the One China principle.
He just wrapped up his visits to the three Central Asian countries.
The Chinese diplomat said mutual support on core interests is essential to building a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
He also condemned recent remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanai Takeuchi that infringe on China's core interests and undermine the post-World War II organizations order.
Wang said the Japanese leader has sent the wrong signal by suggesting military interference in the Taiwan Strait.
He stressed that China will respond firmly to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity, defend the post-war order and uphold international peace.
He urged Japan to reflect and correct course.
The foreign minister said, if Japan persists in its stance, countries and people that stand for justice have the right to hold Japan accountable for its historical crimes and the responsibility to prevent any any resurgence of militarism.
All flights on 12 routes linking China and Japan have been canceled.
Cancellation rate is projected to peak at 216 on December 27th.
Routes from Tianjin and Nanjing to Osaka are among the most affected.
The slump is causing concern in regions such as Hokkaido, where the winter season is a critical period for tourism.
Meanwhile, data from China's Civil Aviation Service platform shows that projected flight cancellations to Japan for the remainder of the year jumped 56 compared with the month before.
Ticket bookings at Chinese airlines for the next 60 days dropped by nearly 30 from the two-month period beginning November 15th.
Experts warn that Japan could see a 50 drop in visits from China if the government fails to rebuild trust.
As NHK reports, local businesses are growing anxious about their performance in the coming months.
Youyang spoke with Executive Director Qiao Shanshun at the Low Altitude Economic Development Research Center Henan Industry and Trade Vocational College.
Chinese allies have refunded over 500000 tickets for flights to Japan within three days after Chinese authorities advised their citizens to avoid traveling to the country.
More than a dozen Chinese airlines, including the three biggest companies and some private carriers, have offered free refund and rescheduling options to passengers who have booked flights to Japan between November 15 and December 31.
I think the cancellation of 500,000 flights tickets to Japan can reflect two facts.
The first one, according to a report released by McKinsey Company, shows that safety has become a major concern for Chinese visitors who travel abroad.
On the other hand, the cancellation of the tickets also shows that Chinese consumers won't pay for uncertainties.
Some domestic analysts began temporarily cancelling flights to Japan and reallocating capacity to countries and regions with higher demand.
In fact, data released by Japan's National Tourism Organization shows that, in the first nine months of this year, Nearly 75 million tourists from the Chinese mainland visited Japan, making it the largest source of visitors to the country.
Tourism is actually the second largest pillar for Japan's economy.
Last year, Chinese tourists contributed the highest tourism numbers in Japan.
Thus, the cancellation of the tickets to Japan would definitely have an impact on Japan's tourism industry.
Meanwhile, the cancellation of the tickets will also affect Japan's supply chain.
As we know, the civil aircraft also have the function of transporting goods.
And among tourist cancelling plans to go to Japan, some have switched to Southeast Asia, while others have opted for domestic destinations such as South China's Hainan and Southwest China's Yunnan provinces.
I believe in the future.
If the Japanese government does not make proper efforts to repair our mutual trust, the number of Chinese tourists to Japan will drop by 40 to 50.
In a mid-long term, the transporting capacity would be reallocated to areas with higher demand.
I believe capital will not stay in high-risk areas and Chinese airlines will also not allow their planes to stay on the ground.
Thus, more flights may be put into Southeast Asia or our Belt and Road partner countries.
That was a report on the performance of the Asian aviation sector under strained relations.
People from various sectors in Taiwan have condemned the Japanese prime minister's remarks on the region.
Commentators Lai Yue-Chin and Wang Ping-Chung said the remarks challenged the one China principle and the outcomes of World War II.
Sanae Takeichi's remarks violate the four political documents between China and Japan and the one-China principle.
But what's more serious is that she sent signals to Taiwan independence forces.
In fact, it has always been these ambitious politicians who want to destroy the historical achievements of World War II.
They intend to take advantage of this moment the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War to overthrow the fact that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China, and that Taiwan is a part of China.
This is a fact that has long been recognized by the whole world.
Meanwhile, former Chinese Kuomintang Party Chairperson Hang Shuo-chu said any attempt at independence must be crushed.
If we fail to support the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and allow Taiwan independence forces to act recklessly, willingly acting as pawns of external powers.
We will repeat the mistakes of history and push Taiwan to the brink of war.
Insightful figures in Taiwan have called on people on the island to stand on the right side of history and act in line with justice.
They also call for joint efforts with compatriots on the Chinese mainland to firmly oppose separatism and external interference and safeguard the common homeland of the Chinese nation.
Sanai Takeichi's predecessors again criticized the Prime Minister's remarks on Taiwan.
Shigeru Ishiba said on issues involving diplomacy, Takeichi should not indulge in momentary verbal satisfaction.
Kyoto News reports that the leader of the main opposition party has called on Takeichi to mend relations with China.
Yoshihiko Noda earlier said, Takeichi's comments crossed the line and pushed China-Japan relations into an extremely severe situation.
Japanese political economist Kazuyuki Hamada has stressed China's indispensable role for Japan.
From a long-term perspective on Japan's relations with Asia.
No previous Japanese prime minister or government has ever crossed this red line.
Yet, Takuichi has deliberately stepped over it.
I believe she sees this as a way to raise her political profile and an excellent opportunity to gain support from certain groups.
Such remarks may win favor from these people, but for Japan as a whole and China-Japan relations, they have absolutely no positive meaning.
Instead, they have generated significant negative impact.
China is Japan's most important economic and trade partner.
China's presence is crucial for Japan on history, culture, geography, and even national security.
It is easy to anticipate how China would react to such remarks.
The expert questioned the prime minister's competency for the leader's position and in diplomacy.
Visiting Japanese studies professor Alexis Dutton at the National University of Singapore says the Japanese prime minister's remarks change diplomatic protocols in place since the 1970s.
The history professor added that denialism shapes Takeuchi's politics and goes against the opinions of many people in Japan.
Denialism is front and center because the two most popular films, for example this summer in China about the notorious Japanese biological warfare unit 731 and the latest film about the Nanjing massacre, are banned in Japan.
And so it's denial of atrocities Japan committed outside Japan's borders shapes the politics of Takahichi.
That's one position in Japan.
Many others in Japan would like to move forward, to atone for the past.
And so the politics of how to deal with Japan's disastrous loss, as well as the atrocities Japanese committed abroad 80, 90 years ago, now remain central, in a rather unusual but really prevalent way.
And that was Professor Alexis Dutton on the current Japanese government's denial of historical events.

The United States and Ukraine say they have created an updated and refined peace framework to end the conflict with Russia.
Washington and Kiev are having further negotiations in Switzerland, after discussions that also involved Europe, about a 28-point US plan.
European national security advisors in attendance pushed for a future peace deal to be more favorable for Ukraine.
Ross Cullen has more from Geneva.
The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, saying that a tremendous amount of progress had been made, trying to narrow the differences between the American position and the Ukrainian position.
He said that Sunday was a very good day perhaps the best day of negotiations between the US and Ukraine.
We've had probably the most productive and meaningful meeting so far in this entire process, since we've been involved from the beginning.
We have a very good work product that was already built on a foundation of input from all the relative parties involved here, and we were able to go through some of those items now point by point, and I think we've made good progress.
They were discussing this, much talked about 28 point peace plan and which of that proposal could be changed, could be edited, some could be removed, others could be put in.
Ukraine certainly trying to put forward its points of view.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, did say that he feels that Ukraine's positions are starting to be heard by President Trump's team.
It is important that there is dialogue with the American representatives and there are signals President Trump's team is hearing us.
It is important to ensure that the steps toward ending the war are effective and that everything is workable.
Now, the Ukrainian delegation is being led by Volodymyr Zelensky's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak.
He is trying to ensure that there can be a just and lasting peace that respects Ukraine.
Because the 28-point police plan, a lot of European leaders in Ukraine certainly thought that it was tilted more heavily in the favour of Russia.
They're trying to regain the initiative of the Ukrainians through their dialogue with the Ukrainian US delegation to try to ensure that it is Ukraine's position that is favoured in any final document.
Now there are also European national security advisors here in Geneva, and on Sunday they had discussions with Andrew Yermak as well.
There is a European counter proposal that's being discussed, with possible changes as well to the US proposal.
We understand that the Europeans are trying to put forward that as well, to have influence, because they back Ukraine.
They want Ukraine's position to be respected as well in any final discussion.
And those talks will continue here in Geneva That was Ross Cullen in Geneva.
Russia did not immediately comment on the talks in Geneva, but earlier voiced readiness for negotiations.
Moscow insists that the peace plan must be thoroughly discussed to make sure its interests are considered.
Dasha Chernyshova reports.
Russia reaffirmed its openness for talks on the Ukrainian settlement, with the Russian president saying that the US
28-point peace plan could serve as a basis for long-term peace.
However, officials in Russia say all points need to be worked out in detail.
Commenting on the peace plan, Deputy Head of the State Duma Defense Committee, Alexei Zhuravlyov, was critical, saying that it is aimed at keeping the threat at Russia's borders for a long time and, at best, could be seen as a starting point for negotiations.
But he noted that what Europeans are trying to push through in further talks would be completely unacceptable for Russia.
Russian politicians still know that the US relies on sanctions and armed supplies to Ukraine as tools to pressure Russia.
Last week the Russian president visited the front lines and said Moscow is happy with its advances on the battlefield.
Putin also threatened that Ukraine would lose more territory if talks fail.
That was Dasha Chernyshova reporting from Moscow.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen says, any peace plan for Ukraine must ensure the country's sovereignty.
As discussions continue in Geneva,
Speaking at the G20 summit in Johannesburg, she outlined principles she believes should guide negotiations.
Any credible and sustainable peace plan should, first and foremost, stop the killing of and end the war, while not sowing the seeds for future conflict.
We have agreed on the main elements necessary for just and lasting peace and Ukraine's sovereignty.
And let me highlight three of them.
First, borders cannot be changed by force.
Second, as a sovereign nation, there cannot be limitations on Ukraine's armed forces.
That would leave the country vulnerable to future attack and thereby also undermining European security.
Third, the centrality of the European Union in securing peace for Ukraine must be fully reflected von.
Der Leyen also stressed that any agreement must include securing the return of every abducted Ukrainian child.

Iran says a cooperation deal it reached with the United Nations nuclear watchdog in September is now no longer valid.
The announcement comes after the International Atomic Energy Agency passed a resolution demanding Iran fully cooperate with inspectors and provide detailed information about its stockpile of near-weapons-grade uranium.
The agreement signed in Cairo was meant to reopen the door for inspections after Tehran halted all cooperation following Israeli and US bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities in June.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bagai pushed back forcefully at the new resolution.
The confrontational move by the three European countries and America against Iran in the IAEA will definitely have consequences.
One of them, as I mentioned, is that the agreement reached between Iran and the IAEA in Cairo is practically not viable anymore, and we have officially announced that the agreement is no longer valid.
Bagay also argued that the resolution ignored the reason Iran halted inspections in the first place, namely the strikes carried out by Israel and the US.
He reiterated that Tehran would not give up what it calls its right to enrich uranium, even though its enrichment work has remained suspended after key nuclear facilities were heavily damaged in the conflict.
And finally, Syrian authorities have imposed a curfew in homes and deployed security forces after the killing of a Bedouin couple triggered retaliatory attacks in the central city.
Interior authorities said a man and his wife were found dead in their home, with sectarian-charged graffiti at the scene and the woman's body partially burned.
Local officials condemned the killing as heinous crime aiming to ignite sectarian discord.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said armed tribesmen carried out retaliatory attacks, causing civilian casualties and damage to homes and vehicles.
The Britain-based War Monitor said gunfire, arson and isolated kidnapping have spread across parts of homes.
Witnesses described the development as uncontrolled chaos.

The 23rd Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition is underway, serving as the grand finale of this year's auto show season.
The event highlights cutting-edge automotive technologies and major brand innovations, offering a clear vision of the industry's future direction.
Olivia Ha walks us through what's new at this year's show.
The annual Guangzhou Auto Show is where the industry's future comes into focus.
And this year, the buzz is all about electric and smart.
Another theme, new tech, new life.
Auto Guangzhou 2025 is spread across 220,000 square meters, featuring 1,085 vehicles.
Of those, 93 are global debuts and 629 are new energy models.
Put together, intelligent electrified vehicles make up nearly 60% of the display.
This year, we're seeing Chinese automakers gain even more ground with highly competitive offerings.
At the same time, joint venture brands are stepping up their game, tapping into local supply chains, accelerating innovation and rolling out smarter electric vehicles tailored to Chinese consumers.
As a result This Is Guangzhou Auto Show has become a key platform for joint ventures to showcase their technical strength.
Many have introduced new models packed with smart features and new energy tech, spanning sedans and SUVs and covering segments from family use to off-roading.
However, that doesn't mean these brands have walked away from gasoline.
Instead, they're also giving conventional cars multi-tech and more frequent updates to stay relevant.
But what does the public think of all these changes?
We hit the show floor to ask visitors who impressed them the most, and their answers were surprisingly consistent.
Let's take a listen.
Actually, I'm from Germany, so I want to see what's going on in the Chinese market.
I'm quite often in China and it's so rapidly evolving.
So it's super exciting to see all the new car brands coming up and new technologies.
So actually, you get a feeling of the market.
Yeah, so many new concepts, really nice looking, especially Chinese made.
So the Chinese car industry has tremendous progress in recent years.
I've been out of China in COVID. and actually i left china in the beginning of 2020 when i returned after four years i didn't recognize it so the old brand new cars all new design and it's really number one now in the world i think i'm looking forward to see like a chinese brand innovative brand like xiaomi i really love xiaomi like the line because i think in china you have a lot of potential a lot of new car, so yeah, I'm looking for Chinese brand mainly.
Chinese Chinese Dongfeng.
This is a really good one.
You know the M Hero.
Some really good Chinese vehicles are being made.
The quality is increasing, the price is great.
So yeah, I think the Chinese vehicles are taking over.
And that was Olivier He at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

Car maker Stellantis and Chinese company CATL are teaming up to build an electric vehicle battery plant.
The gigafactory is expected to bring investment and thousands of jobs to a small village in Spain.
Ken Brown reports.
A million EV batteries a year by 2028.
That's the aim of the CATL Celantis EV battery plant in Zaragoza, where work is already underway.
Close by, you'll find peaceful streets and a quiet local bar.
Welcome to Figuerelas, population 1,000, a tiny town in northeastern Spain.
It's getting ready to receive 2000 Chinese experts who are going to help build the Gigafactory five minutes from here, bringing 4000 direct jobs and many more indirect opportunities.
We've run off our feet.
We're delighted working hard because of course the Chinese workers are coming and now countless companies see big opportunities.
They want to build, they want to promote, they want to buy.
So it's been a bit crazy with all the inquiries about the zone.
So is she practicing her Chinese?
But how did Spain's Aragon region win this massive investment?
First of all, because the Stellantis plant that already exists here is highly efficient at a European level.
Another reason is that we have a lot of land.
Aragon is 10% of Spain and has a small population.
89% of the energy we produce is renewable and that was important to CATL.
Then of course, the good relations with China and Spain, and particularly with China and Aragon, were important.
It's a very fluid relationship.
In 1982, General Motors installed the factory next to Figuerelas, and the village has helped build five generations of Opel, Corsas and Peugeot 208s, among other cars.
And this Gigafactory may just be the beginning, as Spanish authorities aim to make Spain a European EV hub, hoping to attract other big names like BYD, the Chinese electric car maker that will decide on the site for its next European mega factory soon.
More good news for Figuerelas.
That was Ken Brown reporting.

I don't think I will.
I love it so much.
