A total of 81 qualified practitioners have recently received China's first ever long -term care specialist certificates in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu Province, marking the official launch of the newly recognized profession designed to address the growing needs of an aging population and the social challenges posed by chronic illnesses or disability.
The long -term care specialists are expected to alleviate the burden on families struggling with the disability of family members.
Li Tao, deputy director of the National Health Security Administration, said that the aging demographic has created enormous demand for long term care.
This profession will elevate service quality, drive innovation in health and wellness industries, and enhance public satisfaction.
The 3 tiers, namely elementary, intermediate and advanced, with exams combining written tests and simulated practical assessments to evaluate both knowledge and skills.
The inaugural Jiangsu exam saw an 81 % pass rate among 100 candidates with applicants aged 20 to over 60.
Lu Ya Yun a 51 year old former child care worker said that this certificate recognizes her expertise and fuels her confidence in this career, adding that every senior deserves compassionate care and she is committed to serving more families with professionalism and dedication.
To standardize evaluations, Jiang Su has introduced a comprehensive regulatory framework with 21 documents covering exam administration and certification management among other areas.

The trial scheme launched by the MTR Corporation Ltd limited stipulated that a cat dog carrying pass for pet owners is a must aside from their own fare and each pass holder can only carry one cat or dog per ride.
MTR has laid out specific rules for the trial scheme to ensure railway operational safety, hygiene, and well being of traveling cats and dogs while minimizing the impact on other passengers including specifications of the cat dog carrier as well as boarding and alighting locations.

China's marine tourism sector recorded robust growth in the first quarter of the year, with coastal regions reporting strong performances.
According to preliminary estimates from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the sector's value -added output reached 384 .2 billion yuan, about US $53 .4 billion in the January through March period.

China has established 903 national wetland parks over the past 20 years.
That is according to an international seminar recently held in Hangzhou in East China's information from the Wetland Protection Seminar shows that these parks have helped protect 2 .4 million hectares of wetlands, providing ample habitat for key national wildlife species.
Speaking at the seminar, Yan Zhen, vice head of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, stressed that the country has long prioritized wetland conservation and made continuous efforts to this end.
Data from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration shows that so far, China's total wetland area stands at 56 .35 million hectares.
The country now boasts 82 wetlands of international importance, ranking among the highest globally.
Yen said that, meanwhile, ecological protection and restoration have also been strengthened, adding that 300 ,000 hectares of wetlands have been restored, thanks to the National Wetland Conservation Plan.
As part of efforts to promote international cooperation in the sector, China has established the International Mangrove Center, contributing to global wetland conservation efforts.
For the next step, Yen noted that the administration plans to strengthen protection of wetland ecosystems in a holistic manner, with major projects in key areas, including the Yangtze and Yellow River basins.
The forestry and grassland authorities will also work to enhance international cooperation and exchange on wetland protection, and participate actively in global ecological governance.

Meanwhile, large molecule drugs face an even tougher challenge in that they are often blocked by the cell membrane, which acts as a security gate.
The team integrated flexible electronics and micro nano processing technologies to create the ultra thin patch which is as thin as a regular sheet of printed paper and can be attached directly to the surface of an organ.
The patch's unique structure enables its wireless power supply.
It can safely perforate cell membranes at a low voltage and through the ultra high electric field strength formed within the nanobores can deliver drug molecules to the target site rapidly and precisely.
Changling Qian, a professor at Beihang University's School of Biological and Medical Engineering, described the innovation as creating a highway for drug delivery.
