Coffee Break English, season three, episode 10, extra.
Hello and welcome to another extra episode of Coffee Break English.
In this week's main episode, we focused on superlatives in English, so in this extra episode, Mark and I have a conversation, including lots of superlatives.
We hope it's useful practice for you.
Josie, what was the best day of your life?
That's a hard question.
I don't think there's one day which I remember as the best day of my life.
Recently, my closest friend got married, so that was probably one of the best days of my life so far.
I went to a wedding recently and the wedding cake was the most delicious cake I've ever eaten.
What kind of cake was it?
It was lemon and coconut, it was very moist and it just melted in my mouth.
It sounds like that cake was one of the most memorable parts of the wedding.
To be honest, it was.
I had one of my most embarrassing experiences at a wedding a few years ago.
Oh no, what happened?
All of the guests were dancing and so was I.
But I was wearing a long dress and it ripped and I fell over in the middle of the dance floor.
Everyone was looking at me and I just wanted to disappear.
That sounds terrible, but kind of funny as well.
My worst wedding experience was at a wedding in Spain.
It was in the south of Spain in the summer and I decided to wear the full traditional Scottish wedding outfit.
A kilt, a shirt, a waistcoat and a jacket.
You must have been boiling.
Exactly, wearing a thick wool kilt is not a good idea when it's 30 degrees.
That was definitely the hottest I've ever been.
But everyone was interested to see the kilt.
So I suppose it was worth it in the end.
Let's listen again.
A little faster. Josie, what was the best day of your life?
