Coffee Break English Season 3 Episode 8 Extra Hello and welcome to this week's Extra episode of Coffee Break English.
Do you remember that we talked about irregular past tensees in this week's main episode?
Well, to help you practice, in this conversation, Josie and I are going to talk about what we did at the weekend and we'll use lots of irregular past tensees.
We hope you enjoy it!
What did you do last weekend, Mark?
I had a really nice weekend actually.
My family and I went for a walk up a hill.
I've just bought a new rucksack and some new walking boots, so I got the chance to try them out.
That sounds fun. Was it a long walk?
We thought it wouldn't be very long, but we began walking at ten o 'clock and we came back to the car at five o 'clock.
So in the end it was a long day.
And did the weather stay dry?
At first it was quite sunny and warm, but later it became cloudy and we got caught in the rain.
I only realised after it started raining that I had forgotten my waterproof, so I got soaked.
Oh no, I hope you dried off quickly after that.
I did. How was your weekend?
Did you do anything exciting?
Well, last week was really busy, so I was exhausted.
I woke up late on Saturday and then I met a friend for a coffee.
After we drank our coffees, I realised that I couldn't find my phone.
I think it was stolen.
Oh no, do you know how it happened?
I think I put it in my bag, but the zip wasn't shut properly.
Someone must have taken it without me realising.
Do you think you'll get it back?
Well, it cost a lot of money, so obviously I like to get it back, but I spoke to the police and they said there's not much they can do, unfortunately.
What a shame. But these things happen!
Let's listen to the conversation again, a little faster.
