Coffee Break English, Season 3, Episode 6, Extra.
Hello and welcome to this week's Extra episode of Coffee Break English.
Do you remember that this week's main episode was about the invention of the telephone?
Well, you're going to hear Mark and me discuss some useful inventions that we would like to have.
We hope you enjoy it.
Mark, there are lots of good inventions in the world which make our lives much easier.
But what do you wish someone would invent to make your life easier?
That's a good question.
Let me think about it.
Oh, I know. Often I can't decide what to make for dinner.
So I'd like an invention to help me with that.
That's a good idea.
But maybe you just need a recipe book?
Well, the problem is that I never know if I have all the ingredients to make a particular recipe.
I wish there was an app which could detect all the food that I have in my cupboards and my fridge and tell me what to make.
I think that sounds really useful.
You should try to invent it.
Yes, maybe it would be handy for other people you never know.
I actually enjoy deciding what to have for dinner, so I don't think I would use an app like that.
So what invention would you like to have?
I'd love to have a toothbrush that you don't have to hold.
Really? Why? I find brushing my teeth really boring.
So my ideal invention would be a toothbrush that can clean your teeth while you do something else.
I see your point, but it only takes two minutes to brush your teeth.
For me, that's not enough time to be bored.
I know, but sometimes those two minutes can feel like two hours.
Okay, each to their own.
Let's listen to the conversation again a little faster.
