Hello! You are listening to my first podcast, a magical world of your daily sounds, made just for you and your grownups to enjoy, however you wish.
I'm Lucy. How are you today?
In my first podcast, we listen to all the sounds we can find around us.
There are so many sounds that we hear every day.
Bangs, booms, walops, tones, clangs, lasts, or buzzes.
soft ones and loud ones, big sounds and small sounds long sounds and short ones tickling your ear sounds and booming far too noisy sounds.
Each day is filled with sound and of course we can make sounds ourselves too.
Did you hear that? I just put my hands together and that made a noise.
It's called a clap.
Can you clap too? Maybe your grown -up can help?
That sounds amazing.
It's time for our sound adventure.
Today we are joining Fatima in her home where she lives with her mum, Dad, and little brother.
Fatima is having breakfast with mum in the kitchen.
She is having yummy porridge.
That sounds like lovely warm porridge bubbling away.
Let's join Fatima and her mum in the kitchen for breakfast. It didn't work!
Woo! Ha! Hoo hoo! Oh… It sounds like Fatima is really enjoying her morning porridge.
Let's listen again and see if we can name the Kitchen Breakfast Sounds.
It's early morning in Fatima's house, the sun has come up and it's shining through the window.
Fatima's Mum is standing at the stove.
She is cooking porridge for Fatima, who is waiting patiently at the table.
That's Fatima. The porridge bubbles on the stove.
Fatima's mum stirs the porridge with a wooden spoon.
The cupboard door opens.
Fatima's mum takes out a bowl.
The porridge is almost ready to eat.
The porridge pours into the bowl.
The cutlery door opens.
In the drawer we can find forks, knives and spoons.
For porridge, we need a spoon.
Fatima's Mum sits down with Fatima at the table.
It's time to feed her the porridge.
A nice yummy spoonful of porridge but be careful it's hot.
Fatima's Mum blows gently on the spoon to make sure the porridge is just the right temperature to eat.
Fatima gobbles up her porridge, she really enjoys it.
Another spoonful of their licious porridge and of Fatima's mum blows on the food first. Fatima takes her last mouthful of porridge.
Thanks, Fatima for sharing your breakfast sounds with us today.
Having porridge in the morning for breakfast sounds yummy and there are so many sounds that go with having breakfast. Did you listen to all the sounds?
Let's listen again, to a breakfast sound.
Can you tell me what this sound is?
It's the sound of a wooden spoon, the spoon stirs in the pan of porridge.
How about the next sound?
Do you know what it is?
That's the sound of cutlery.
Spoons, knives and forks.
For porridge, we only need a spoon.
There's one more sound I'd like you to listen to!
We blow on the food to make sure its not too hot when we eat it!
Can you blow too? Be gentle.
Let sing a song all about breakfast time and the sounds we've heard. It's time to eat The Morning Has Come Take your seat and fill up your tongue.
