Authorities have deployed rescue teams to the front lines and allocated about 350 million yuan, or 49 million US dollars, for relief efforts in nine provincial -level regions.
After days of relentless rainfall, parts of central Beijing and surrounding areas have experienced severe flooding, with local authorities confirming multiple fatalities and widespread evacuations.
The northeastern district of Miyun was among the hardest hit.

Right now, it's all hot and sunny over here.
Nothing like the previous few days.
I feel like the worst has already passed.
Although skies over the capital have cleared and temperatures soared under the summer sun, Li Chuan says the memory of the storm's fury remains fresh.
She never expected the gentle creek outside her window to turn into a roaring torrent, with the water almost bursting the banks and submerging the nearby roads.
Her relatives in the hilly town of Taishitun saw even worse as the floods came fast and without warning during the night.
They told me a lot of cars were swept away, and in some residential buildings, the flooding came suddenly during the night.
The heavy rain was something the elders said they had never seen before, but everyone quickly got notified by various people, neighbors, community workers, etc., and they basically all moved to safer locations.
Rescue operations were swift. Emergency teams worked through the night, while helicopters and excavators were deployed to evacuate stranded residents.
Li said her relatives told her that as part of the response, local authorities also deployed drones to survey mountain regions for landslide risks, allowing for the preemptive evacuation of at -risk communities.
Government -run temporary shelters have provided refuge for displaced families.
families. Basically, from the time the rain began and risks started to emerge, different places began organizing responses.
Many of the shelters were set up in schools, and schools had already prepared their duty shifts and supplies.
Many locals also stayed with relatives or friends nearby, and essential supplies were distributed.
So there haven't been any major problems. By the following day, floodwaters had begun gone to recede, though many areas remained waterlogged.
Local authorities have advised residents not to return to flood -affected areas just yet, citing the risk of contamination and the need for thorough disinfection.
Li Chuan said her relatives have now relocated from Taishetuan to join her in downtown Meiyun.
She described scenes of rescue personnel still stationed along the river, reinforcing embankments to prevent any further danger.
Despite the disruption, Li said essential supplies are readily available and that local coordination has been smooth.
She and her family are now trying to stay optimistic as they believe things will soon get back to normal.

From politics and the economy to business and technology, Today covers regional and international issues that affect China and the world.
Keep up to date with today.
Seven minutes past the hour.
Beijing's hosted the World Youth Peace Conference.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a letter to the event.
He said the future of peace lies in the hands of youth.
President Xi expressed hope that young people from all countries will take this conference as an opportunity to exchange ideas, deepen mutual understanding and build friendships.
He called on them to become advocates for the values of peace and active participants in peaceful development, contributing their wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese aggression and the World Anti -Fascist War.
And with more on the conference, we're joined live by Gao Junyap, who's covering the event.
Thanks for joining us this evening.
And first of all, what have you observed at the conference?
Good evening, Shane.
Yes, I am here at Peking University covering the World Youth Conference for Peace.
And it actually started at 2 .30 in the afternoon and it is still underway.
I think to some extent you can tell how big this event is.
And it has attracted over 3 ,000 young people from over 130 countries in the world.
and to sit down to talk about peace, one of the highlights of this event is the release of the World Youth Peace Initiative.
As you mentioned, yes, this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti -Fascist War and the founding of the United Nations, actually, you know, the most important multilateral institution.
And, you know, in the initiative, it calls on young people to defend world peace, to oppose any form of war and violence, and to defend the outcomes of the victory in World War II and to safeguard the international system with the UN at its core.
and besides the speeches, besides panel discussions, and there are many different performances of different cultures, for example, there was drumming from Africa and also traditional music and dance from Australia and New Zealand and a choir from Japan put on a wonderful performance about the friendship of sakura.
Back to you, Shane.
What did you personally learn or take away from the experience?
Yes, as I mentioned, that over 3 ,000 young people from five continents, from 130 countries, are here for the event.
And they came here for one topic, for one shared goal, that is peace.
Actually, many speakers have mentioned this, and I can't agree more, is that peace is not a word. Peace is not a slogan.
Peace needs to take action and it needs to be built.
So, yes, to some extent, yes, on one hand, yes, to build peace, we need to stop war, we need to stop violence, but on the other hand, we need also to pursue development.
I was talking to an advocate from Kenya, and she's telling me that, you know, Africa, it has a population of 1 .4 billion, the same as here in China, and over 60 % of that population is actually young people that is under the age of 25.
It means a lot of potential, but actually the truth is there is a high unemployment rate among young people in Africa.
So it is really urgent for us to take action to empower young people and to make sure that the social development, the technological advancement can benefit young people so that they can play their constructive role in global peace.
Back to you, Shane.
Thank you very much for joining us tonight.
That's Gao Junya who's covering the World Youth Peace Conference in Beijing.
And today we're continuing our 25 -part special series, Resolve and Resilience, the main eastern battlefield of World War II, which revisits China's pivotal battles and heroic stories during the War of Resistance against Japanese aggression.
In today's episode, we journey back to 1932, a pivotal moment in Chinese history, when Shanghai became the epicenter of fierce resistance against Japanese invading forces.
Olivia He has more.
The Battle of Shanghai, also known as the January 2018 incident, was yet another act of Japanese aggression following the September 18 or Mukden incident.
as Japan moved to expand its control over Chinese territory.
Chinese soldiers and civilians rose in fierce resistance, marking the first full -scale battle between Chinese and Japanese forces in what would become the 14 -year -long war of resistance against Japan that took place between 1931 and 1945.
This is where Yangtze River meets Huangpu River, a crucial gateway for ships entering and leaving Shanghai.
Shanghai. This old photograph here taken by war correspondents showed that these waters were once choked with the warships of the invading Japanese forces.
Their goal was to land at the Wusong Astillery where the Hongpu river meets the sea, capture Shanghai and push deeper into China's eastern coast. But here, against overwhelming odds, Chinese defenders held their ground.
This strategic point became a vassal ground of defiance where where soldiers swore to fight to their last breaths.
On the night of January 28, 1932, Japanese forces launched a surprise attack against China's 19th Bertami troops stationed in Shanghai's Zhebei district.
Fierce fighting erupted, marking the explosive start of the Shanghai War of Resistance, also known as the January 28 Incident.
Commanding General Jiang Guangnai and Division Commander Cai Tingkai reacted swiftly, ordering reinforcements from the rear to mobilize overnight as the battle raged.
General Cai Tingkai addressed his troops with grave determination.
He said, if we fail to hold back the Japanese here, there will be no peace in this world.
Should every last soldier of our 19th Route Army fall in battle, then our countrymen must rise as one united in resistance against japan in the early hours of january 29th japanese reinforcements arrived with 1 700 additional troops unleashing devastating airstrikes and armored assaults they boasted they would take job in four hours the 19th rear army's anti -aircraft guns had not even arrived yet with nothing but raw courage General Tsai led his men in a desperate defense.
Flesh and blood against steel and fire.
The Chinese defenders tied grenades together to blow apart the treads of Japanese armored vehicles.
As smoke engulfed the battlefield, suicide squad members would charge through the haze, leap onto the disabled tanks and drop explosives inside.
The resulting explosions would destroy both the enemy armor and the brave attackers in a final, sacrificial blast. This footage, captured by war correspondents near Chunyun Road in Zhebei district, shows the brutal back -and -forth of trench warfare.
Through six waves of ferocious combat, the 19th Route Army eliminated over 100 Japanese soldiers and destroyed five armored vehicles, ultimately repelling multiple enemy assaults.
This was the Shanghai North Railway Station during the Battle of Shanghai, the lifeline of the entire resistance efforts.
This photograph here captures the aftermath of the bombing at this railway station.
As the critical transport hub for troops and supplies, its tracks became some of the most fiercely contested grounds in the entire campaign.
Japanese forces relentlessly bombarded the station, determined to sever the strategic artery.
Yet here, amid shattered platforms and twisted steel, Chinese defenders held their ground through a wave after wave of attacks.
attacks. On February 20, 1932, Japanese forces launched a full -scale offensive in Shanghai.
The nine divisions' spearheaded attack at Shanghai's northeastern suburbs was supporting units swept in from both flanks, attempting to encircle Chinese defenders and capture the key districts of Jiabao and Miaohang.
Under General Zhang's command, Chinese troops fought with with desperate courage, in what became one of the bloodiest engagements of the campaign.
When the smoke cleared, over a dozen Japanese tanks lay destroyed and more than 1 ,000 enemy soldiers had fallen, a staggering blow that shattered Japan's incitement plans.
Why was Miao Hang so critical?
Because it was the linchpin.
Its fall would isolate Chinese armies, surrender Wusong's strategic waterways and give Japan's navy a clear shot up the Yangtze to Nanjing, a disaster for the nationalist government.
On February 22nd, the Japanese 9th Division launched an all -out assault on Miao Han defences, supported by continuous artillery and aerial bombardment.
General Zhang expertly utilised the terrain, leading his troops in three days and nights of brutal combat that resulted in over 3 ,000 Japanese casualties, a decisive Chinese victory known as the Battle of Miao Han Triumph.
The conflict finally ended on May 5 with the signing of the Shanghai Ceasefire Agreement between China and Japan.
This is the January 28 Resistance Memorial Square in Shanghai's Baoshan District.
Its three still -forged towers stand as permanent symbols representing the unbreakable result of the Chinese people in defending their homeland.
During these 36 days of resistance, Chinese defenders stood firm against better equipped invaders.
This unprecedented unity between troops and civilians doubt Japan's heaviest defeat since September 18 incident, showing the world China's unshakable resolve against aggression.
That was Olivia He reporting.
In the next episode, We'll take you back to the 1933 Battle of Shifang Co., where the Chinese broadsword team wrote a legendary chapter in the history of the war of resistance against Japanese aggression.
Coming up, China and the U .S. have completed another round of trade talks.
United in purpose during World War II, the Chinese military and people stood as one, fearlessly resisting Japanese fascism.
China's unwavering whole -nation effort forged the pivotal eastern front.
Through fierce battles, immense sacrifices, heroic endurance, and decisive support to the allies on the European and Pacific battlefields, China has helped secure liberation, the final victory, and the lasting legacy for global peace and human progress.

19 minutes past the hour, high -level delegations from China and the US have wrapped up the first day of a new round of trade talks in Stockholm, The world's two biggest economies are holding negotiations aiming to resolve long -running trade issues amid the Trump administration's tariff war.
Ken Brown reports. U .S.-China trade talks concluded at around 8 p .m. local time after around six hours of talks here in Stockholm.
This is the third installment of these talks.
The first one happened in Geneva.
Neva. That really was the icebreaker where we saw US and China come to a consensus.
We saw a tariff truce.
The next came in London in June.
And there, they really worked out a framework, something that wasn't published.
So we don't have the details of it.
What we are expecting is that those details are being finalized here in Stockholm unlikely that we'll see a completed a done deal something that we have seen in talks with Japan and Britain and the European Union we heard Scott Besant the US Treasury Secretary say last week that another 90 -day extension could be possible to continue with these talks to the two world's largest economies of course this is not a simple thing to work out top of the list for china is a lowering of tariffs and more access to a high -end technology to to keep growing in terms of their ai industry the u .s wants more access
to the chinese market so the lines are set out for what both want and these need to be held with with cooperation, joint cooperation, mutual respect and equality.
That's what we heard from the Chinese foreign ministry.
That was Ken Brown reporting.
European leaders have criticized the trade deal between the European Union and the US.
Washington will impose a 15 % tariff on most imports from the EU.
Germany and France say the agreement will damage the bloc's economy, forcing up inflation and affecting transatlantic trade.
William Densler reports from Brussels.
Dealmaker -in -chief is how the White House is describing President Donald Trump following the framework trade agreement reached with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday.
European goods entering the U .S. market will now be subject to a baseline 15 percent tariff, as opposed to the 30 % duties threatened by Washington had a deal not been struck by an August 1st deadline.
Reaction from across Europe has been mixed.
Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban is highly critical of the new pact, saying that Trump ate von der Leyen for breakfast. France too has railed against it, while one group of parliamentarians here in Brussels is blasting the deal as lopsided and calling the tariffs an unjustified illegal tax.
The chief negotiator on the European side, Maros Sevkovic, praised the Commission president for getting the deal she described as the best she could get over the line on Sunday.
I'm absolutely convinced it saves the trade, saves the trade flows, saves the jobs in Europe and opens a new chapter in EU -US relations, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and President Trump held a press conference on Monday fielding questions on a range of topics, from the Epstein Files to windmills and foreign policy.
Off the heels of the trade agreement reached with the UK in May, President Trump said he wanted to expand ties in sectors including energy and pharmaceuticals.
That was William Denslow reporting.
A Cambodian official says the country's military and its Thai counterpart have agreed not to deploy more troops on the border.
It comes after Thailand said its military units on the border were coordinating ceasefires with their Cambodian counterparts.
The two countries reached a ceasefire deal in Malaysia on Monday.
Thai officials say the border is calm and they've successfully conducted an initial round of meetings with the Cambodian side.
The Cambodian Defense Ministry also says there's been no new fighting on the border, reiterating the country's commitment to the ceasefire.
Thai officials have reported 15 deaths and 38 injuries among civilians.
Cambodian authorities have reported 13 deaths and 71 injuries.
The border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia have led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from their homes.
Mal Sripich has more from Cambodia.
Thousands of Cambodian families have been forced to evacuate their homes to temporary camps as armed clashes between Cambodia and Thailand intensify.
A Ministry of Defense official said on Sunday that more than 134 ,000 interviews, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities, have been evacuated to safe areas.
I flew here last week.
I was frightened as I was escaping because there were bombings behind me.
I tried to run to a safe place, and I didn't even bring any of my belongings.
My son is on the front lines.
It's challenging and different from our time at home.
When we were at home, we had a comfortable place to sleep.
But here, we don't have enough tents and supplies.
I don't want a conflict, but since it has already occurred, I'm at a loss as to what to do about it.
I want to have peace, but since the conflict started, we had to flee here.
I was worried and I couldn't sleep or eat for two days.
I was evacuated here last Friday after the bombing.
It isn't easy and we just eat anything we have. We had no choice but to flee to a safe place.
I want our country to be at peace because I'm so scared.
Living in the tents, the displaced families face the immediate need for food, water and sanitation.
Anclas broke out on the border between Cambodia and Thailand early Thursday morning local time with both nations accusing each other of opening fire.
On the first day of the conflict, Thailand deployed F -16 jets checking a hospital, house, a pagoda and a school in Cambodia.
Both sides have agreed to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire from midnight during the a special meeting hosted by Malaysia and co -organized by the U .S. with the participation of China.
That was Mao Sreipitch reporting.
Some residents on the Thai -Cambodia border are wary despite the ceasefire deal.
Thai villagers in the Surin province say the damage to their homes and lives remains.
Desita Sakow has more from the border area.
The roof is gone. The walls are ash.
And in the smoldering ruins of what used to be his family family home, monk Pratyat Pramat, peeks through the wreckage with his bare hands, lifting debris from the rubble as the air still reeks of smoke and scorched timber.
This was once my home, and now it looks like this.
It makes me so sad.
There are no words to describe how I feel.
I'm holding back tears because many people lived in my home, my nieces, a newborn baby, my elderly parents.
Just look at my house now.
No one was injured.
His family of 11 who lived here had taken shelter at an evacuation centre nearby.
But the destruction was total.
A single rocket has turned this home into a smoking ruin.
Now only ashes remain.
There's an eerie silence in this village and a palpable sense of fear.
But that silence was short -lived.
The explosions are coming.
If you hear these sounds, many bangs will usually follow.
This village in the red zone was hit hard. More than 20 rockets landed on this community.
There are no words.
I have never experienced this before.
I feel so sorry for my whole community.
The scars of the conflict are visible here, part of a rice field gouged open by a crater, the backyard of a house, its toilet sinks into another.
But the threat has now expanded far beyond this red zone.
The city of Surin itself, once a safe distance from the border squirmishes, now sits on edge the entire province has been declared a war disaster zone the suspected use of long -range rockets with capabilities of striking targets up to 120 kilometers away has locals pondering if they should stay or flee the I have prepared everything all my important documents I have also prepared some unclosed.
I am ready to evacuate if an announcement comes.
For now, Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
For the villagers, they are holding on to hope that the ceasefire will hold and the smoke will soon finally clear.
