Hello Aubrey. Hello my friend Aubrey. How are you?
I'm great. How are you? I am wonderful. I am so happy to be back here on Business English.
I've actually gotten to make a few appearances over here lately and I'm very happy about that.
It's been fun to have you over here and I'm especially excited for this because guys, you should be excited.
Black Friday is coming and we have a very special surprise for you.
Oh my gosh, this is our third year in a row doing Black Friday.
And it really is like a worldwide phenomenon now.
This is the one day to get the best deals.
And so we really wanted to do that. And this year...
Oh, my gosh. So we can't tell you what's in it because part of the fun of Black Friday is like you don't know what amazing deals are coming yet.
You have to like wait for the day. But what we can tell you guys is this is our biggest bundle yet.
It has six courses in it. Six, six courses.
And this is only available for one day, November 24th.
Yes. Right. So this, these courses come with lifetime access and this is just a once a year offer guys.
This is, you don't want to miss it. So we want you to sign up so that you can be the first to know when the offer is open because it's only available for 24 hours.
It would be really easy to miss it. So you want to get on the list so that as soon as it's available, you're the first to know.
So yes, I was distracted because I was watching Aubrey speaking just now and she was using her hands in very interesting ways.
And I wish this were a video now. It was like villain hands.
They were. Like jazz villain fingers. But guys, so this year, the bundle is called Black Friday Be Social in English Bundle because all six courses are about different aspects of being social.
So guys... If you need to go to a work party, a holiday party, or a networking event, or even just a party at a neighbor's house, maybe you need to have a one-on-one meeting with a client.
Maybe it's someone you know or don't know.
All of these situations are social because you are interacting in real time with other people, guys.
All of this stuff is covered in this Be Social Bundle.
Absolutely. So go right now to allearsenglish.com slash Friday to get on the list and then we'll remind you.
It's a little tricky with time zones to know like when is Black Friday in the United States and it's only available for that 24 hours.
So get on the list so that you don't miss out.
Yes, allearsenglish.com slash Friday. Easy to remember.
But guys, we did want to teach you a couple things today.
And these phrases are from one of these courses included in the bundle.
So we want to teach you some phrases for saying goodbye.
One is informal and one is formal. Because That's tricky sometimes.
How do you leave a conversation? How do you leave a party?
How do you leave a meeting? How do you end things well and confidently?
So here are a couple ideas. Yes, it can be super awkward.
We want to eliminate that awkwardness. You just leave.
And this is your last impression, right?
You want to leave people remembering like, oh, that guy was cool.
I I liked her. That's a good point. So here's the formal option.
You can just say apologies, but I have to go relieve the babysitter or apologies.
I have to say goodbye for the night. This has been a lovely evening.
Thank you. I love this to just, you don't have to say, I am so sorry, but I have to apologize.
Like we just shorten that to just apologies.
Right? Yeah, exactly. Um, so it still feels friendly.
You know what I mean? Because we're not saying, Oh, Please forgive me.
I am so sorry. Right. So we're not saying all of those words.
We don't have to. It's not natural. But to be polite and formal.
Right. Apologies. But I have to go do something.
I like this. I have to go relieve the babysitter.
That's really nice. If you're a parent, always an easy excuse.
Absolutely right. I use this one a lot. I'm like, OK, let's how much are we owing the babysitter?
I got to go. But as long as you're also saying thank you after that, you know, it's just it is perfect.
It hits all the appropriate notes you need in this situation.
So, again, that last sentence, guys, was this has been a lovely evening.
Thank you. So what if, though, we are in a more informal situation?
You're you're amongst friends or you're amongst coworkers that, you know, well, how do we say goodbye?
Yeah, a really fun informal way to say goodbye is just to say, I'm off.
I'm off. So you might say, wow, the week has really caught up to me.
I'm off. And that's such a fun way to say, like, I got to go.
Bye. Yeah. And we could still use that thank you sentence, right?
This has been a lovely evening. Thank you.
I say that to friends. Absolutely. You know, you could say that to anyone.
So say that you're leaving and say thank you, but use these natural phrases to do so.
So, guys. Aubrey and I are off to do another podcast now.
