Niminey, are you okay?
What happened? Did you see a spider?
Maybe some kind of bug?
No! Did you see a ghost or a goblin or maybe a ghastly ghoul?
Well then why did you sound so excited?
Because Skyler Twist is coming to perform here on the ship!
The Skyler Twist? The pop star?
Yes! The most talented singer -songwriter of the last like billion years!
She's doing the Auras tour here tonight!
The Auras tour where she performs songs from each of her different auras and vibes?
Exactly! I'm her biggest fan!
Cool, I'm not, but I do really respect her and enjoy her music!
This is so exciting.
Aaaaaah! Megan, Niminey, I heard you screaming with pure and utter joy!
What happened? Did you see a spider?
No! Or maybe some kind of bug?
A spider is a kind of bug.
And no! Maybe some sort of spooky skeleton?
No! Then why did you both sound so happy?
We're excited because Skyler Twist is performing on the ship tonight!
The Skyler Twist? Yes!
Gosh, I hope she gives me her shoe!
Totally! Wait, what in the world are you possibly talking about?
At every concert, she gives her left shoe to one lucky fan.
Maybe tonight it will be me!
Maybe! This is so cool!
I've never been to a Skyler Twist concert before.
Can I scream in excitement with you?
Sure. Aaaaaah! Ha ha ha!
Peter, Megan, Niminey!
Hey, what's happening?
We heard you're screaming.
Is it because of the Skyler Twist concert tonight?
No! I mean, yes! That's exactly why.
Actually, that time I was screaming because I saw a spider.
The spider? Hold on.
Skyler Twist is performing the Auras tour on the ship tonight!
Apparently yes! Ok, that is amazing.
I think we all need to scream in excitement now.
Aaaaaah! Aaaaaah! Aaaaaah!
Aaaaaah! Aaaaaah! Aaaaaah!
I love Zoripirates!
I'm very different from everybody.
Confusion is the step for curiosity.
Ok, that's a really funny idea.
We have to send that in.
It looks cool and it's, like, scientific.
I believe all the things in that story.
Human beings are just able to create.
The Zoripirates. Welcome back to the Storypiers podcast, everyone.
Where we take stories written by kids.
And turn them into sketch comedy.
Nimini, that's your line.
You're supposed to say, and songs.
Oh yes, of course. AND songs.
Sorry, I was too distracted thinking about the Auras tour tonight.
Which special secret songs do you think Skyler is going to play?
Do you think she's going to announce a new aura?
If we met, do you think we'd be best friends immediately or would it take a couple days?
These are all really good questions.
But first, let's do a story.
And here to introduce it is the author.
Hi, I'm Julian and I'm 10 years old and I live in California.
This is my story, Attack of the Paper Mache.
Dude, I'm so excited to present my project at the science fair tomorrow.
How about you, Maisie?
Ugh, I kept putting it off.
I started working on my cell breakdown break dancing routine two weeks ago.
I made a whole mitochondria costume and everything.
That's pretty cool.
I guess I'll just make a volcano or something.
Don't you need vinegar, baking soda and paper mache for that?
I'm sure my dad's got stuff in his lab.
He's a mad scientist after all.
Maisie, that's a terrible idea.
You know your dad doesn't want you messing with his lab stuff.
If you're not careful, things could go horribly wrong.
Or horribly cool. Maisie, listen, you have to - Sorry, what?
I can't hear you. I gotta go home and work on my project.
Bye. Maisie! Okay, I'm home.
Better sneak into my dad's lab before he gets back.
I'll just open the door.
The one with the sign that says danger.
Mad science. No kids allowed.
That means you, Maisie.
I'm sure he doesn't mean me.
Here I go! Ooh! Let's see what he's got.
Beakers, weird bubbling potions, a terrifying creature in a glass bottle.
I'm a creature. Ugh.
Ah, here we go. A bottle of vinegar and here's some, um, monster baking soda?
I wonder what that means.
Oh well, no time to think about it.
I have to make my paper mache volcano.
And done. I can't wait to see everybody's faces tomorrow at the science fair.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to this year's science fair.
I'm the science teacher, Mr.
Teach! Wooh, wooh! Thank you, Greg.
Anyway, we will be starting the judging in just a moment over in the paper mache section.
Which is over here.
I better make sure I have my vinegar and baking soda ready to go.
Maisie! Mom! And dad!
You're here! Why didn't you tell us the science fair was today?
I had to find out from Wendy's, Mom.
And why didn't you ask me for help?
I am a mad scientist, you know.
How does that happen?
I'll never tell. Mom, I didn't tell you because, well, I kind of forgot until last night.
And dad, I didn't ask for your help because, well, I didn't need it.
Look! I will admit that's a pretty nice looking volcano.
Thanks. But what did you use for...
Maisie! Teach! It's Mr...
Never mind. Please present your project.
Here is my volcano.
First, I'll pour in the vinegar.
Very good. And next, I'll pour in this monster baking soda.
Oh, that's funny. That's the same name I gave to the baking soda I keep in my lab that I use to turn harmless things into terrible monsters.
Sorry, what now? I'm an evil volcano!
That was gracious and gravy.
The volcano? It's alive!
It's alive! Honey, please, not now.
Sorry. And now to create my paper mache minions.
Come on! Look over there.
It's turning that paper mache solar system into a monster planet.
Mais and Neptune, they're alive!
They're alive! Honey, please.
I can't help it. All hail King Volcano.
Minions, chase the humans!
Everyone run! Out of the gym!
Whoo! Okay, we managed to trap them in the gym.
I'm sorry, everyone.
I grabbed monster baking soda by accident.
We've all been there, right, everyone?
No. Oh, come on. It's not like they're gonna destroy the school.
We're gonna destroy the school.
We're gonna destroy the school.
You were saying? I guess this really is my fault.
I shouldn't have waited until the last minute to do my work.
It's okay, Maisie. Really, Mom?
Well, no. You are in a lot of trouble for using chemicals without adult supervision.
Almost as much trouble as your father is for not putting a lock on that laboratory.
That's my bad. But first, we have to stop this before it's too late.
I think we should charge in there and figure it out as we go.
No, Maisie! You need a plan.
Oh, right. Oh, Dad, what if we just add a bunch of normal baking soda?
Maybe it'll react with the monster baking soda and change it back.
Maisie, that might actually work.
I think I can sneak in and get close to it.
Honey, be careful. If I am not back in three minutes, it just means that it takes longer than three minutes to do it.
Okay, I'm in the gym.
Gotta stay quiet so I can sneak around the...
I shouldn't have been monologuing.
She's trying to stop us!
Tiny monsters, protect your king!
Oh, no. I need a distraction quick.
Did someone say distraction?
Wendy, are you dressed as the mitochondria?
You know it. Now it's time for my cell break down break dancing.
Whoo! Oh, impressive moves.
It's so impressive, I can't look away.
She doesn't even need music.
Now's my chance. I'll just grab this regular baking soda from one of the other five paper mache volcanoes and...
Hey, evil volcano! Huh?
Take this! You got me with normal baking soda.
I'm gonna... You've gotta do it!
We did it! I couldn't have done it without you, Wendy.
I think the big takeaway from today is, always make sure you use non -monster ingredients if your dad is a mad scientist.
But like, also don't wait until the last minute to do stuff.
Yeah, okay, that too.
Maisie! Mom! Dad! You did it!
In all my years of holding science fairs, that has to be the best explosion and break dancing I've ever seen.
Maisie and Wendy, you both get A pluses.
Yeah! That's so nice of you, mister.
Um, I'm sorry. Could you remind me of what your last name is?
Oh, thanks for asking.
My last name is... The End!
D 'oh! And now Lee speaks with the author.
So, Julian, you wrote Attack of the Paper Mache.
Mm -hm. How did you come up with the idea for that story?
I made a paper mache jack -o'-lantern and then I thought it would be funny if it came to life because it already had a face.
And can you describe for anyone who doesn't know what paper mache is?
You make, like, some kind of liquid and then you take newspapers and you dip the newspapers in the liquid and then you stick them to a balloon.
And then when it dries, you pop the balloon and then the newspapers stay in place.
Wow, so it, like, retains the shape of the balloon.
Have you ever seen a volcano model like that with baking soda and vinegar?
Have you ever seen one of those experiments?
I made a baking soda vinegar but it wasn't a paper mache volcano.
It was, like, a cup or something.
It's cool that baking soda and vinegar interact in that way.
Yeah. It looks cool and it's, like, scientific.
Are you interested in chemistry or anything like that?
Yeah. How the different things mix together and, like, combine and create some kind of cool chemical reaction.
What other two things would you be interested in mixing together from a scientific perspective?
Maybe, like, lemon juice and...
because that's acidic.
Lemon juice and some other substance, like vinegar or oil.
Are there other things in the world that, when you combine them, make something happen, make you feel something, make you learn something that you wouldn't have otherwise?
Going to the beach with your pet because then you wouldn't have your pet at the beach.
Have you ever met a person, or do you have anyone in your life that, like, when you are with them, you feel something happening that is different than what either two people are?
My dog. What is that like when you and your dog come together?
I'm cuddling him a lot.
Uh -huh. And then he's licking my face.
Does it do something inside of your brain?
Like, what does it make you feel?
Very happy because he is a good dog.
It might even be like releasing chemicals in your brain that make you feel good to be with your dog.
Yeah. And it might be doing the same thing for him.
Yeah. Thank you so much, Julian.
Thank you for letting us perform your story.
You're welcome. Bye -bye.
Bye. So... What's your favorite Skylar twist song?
Mine is probably, A Tie Between Seven Little Teardrops, Breakups Should Be Illegal, Fairy Tail Romance, Big Fun Weekend, and, okay, here we go now.
What's your favorite?
Um, I'm not sure. Oh, yeah, that's a really good one.
Oh, my goodness. Is that...
I think that's her.
I think that's Skylar.
Don't be silly, Niminy.
That's a helicopter.
Oh, that's her. She was inside the helicopter.
Classic Rachel. She's walking towards us.
Be cool, be cool, be cool.
Check in 10, then a quick workout, dance rehearsal.
I'll take a 14 -second nap to recharge, then...
Um, hi, excuse me, Skylar.
Sorry to interrupt, but I'm literally your biggest fan.
Literally? I don't think so.
My biggest fan is a 3 ,000 -pound orca whale deep in the Antarctic Ocean.
He's been to all of my concerts, but you seem like one of my best fans.
Thank you. Enjoy the show.
We can't wait. I'm Megan, and here's my headshot and resume in case you ever need performers in your next music video or credit card commercial.
Ah, yes, you all must be the story pirates.
I am so excited to perform on your ship.
I am so excited to perform on your ship.
I mean, what? I love you.
I mean, I love your music.
Is it hot in here? I think what Niminy's trying to say is, we can't wait to see you perform, Skylar.
Let us know if there's anything you need.
Actually, there might be.
Some of my regular crew, my BFFs, weren't able to make the trip because they get very seasick on boats.
First off, we need a new opening act.
Let's see. Megan, you wrote here on your resume, quote, to say I have singing experience would be an understatement.
Is that true? It's true, girl.
You've got the job!
Next up, I'm going to need someone to build and decorate my stage chair.
I always use a special chair on stage.
And it's always a very different looking chair every night.
Yes! That's right! Does anyone have experience building and decorating chairs?
I do. Hi. I'm Rachel.
And that was actually my full -time job before I was a story pirate.
I was a professional chair builder and decorator.
I know. She's literally never mentioned that before.
Rachel, you've got the job.
I'm also going to need someone to try all my snacks backstage and tell me what's good.
We have so many snacks, and there's no way I'll be able to try all of them.
Does anyone have experience with that sort of...
I do! Peter, me. I will.
I shall. Volunteer if you'd like.
I'm doing it. I'm Peter.
Perfect! You've got the job.
And the last thing I need is two bouncers.
Oh! Those are like security guards, right?
They help people get in and out of the VIP sections?
No, no. I mean literal bouncers.
We have two trampolines on stage, and I need two people to bounce on them the whole time.
We'll do it! Thanks, Eric.
Thanks, Lee. Whoa! How do you know our names?
I'm Skylar Twist. Well, that's it.
The show starts in approximately 30 seconds.
Better go get ready.
Oh, one more thing.
Don't tell anyone, but I'm going to announce a brand -new aura tonight.
Ahhh! Wow. Huh. I guess everybody is part of the show except for me.
That's amazing. I'm going to get to enjoy the Auras tour as an audience member.
The most important job.
Oh, this is seriously the best day ever.
I'm going to go make a chair.
Niminee, I'll meet you in the crowd as soon as I'm done.
I'm going to go get ready to sing.
I'll meet you both in the crowd as soon as I'm done.
I'm going to go eat a whole lot of snacks.
We're going to go bounce.
I'm going to go find my seat.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Auras tour.
Please turn on your cell phones.
You're going to want to take videos of this to watch later.
And now please welcome to the stage your opening act, Megan.
Opening act, opening act.
I'm not the person that you're here to see.
Opening act, opening act.
You can have a loud conversation while you're listening to me.
Opening act, opening act.
There's a lot of people walking around buying snacks during the opening act.
Thank you. Thank you.
That was my whole set.
Now give it up for Skylar Twist.
Hey, Niminee, glad I made it in time.
I just finished making Skylar's chair.
I hope everyone likes it.
Hey, Niminee. Hey, Rachel.
Megan, you are so good.
Oh, here she comes.
It's Skylar. Hello, middle of the ocean.
How's everybody doing?
Rachel, your chair looks amazing.
Thank you. This concert's going to be so much fun.
I bet it's going to feel like a montage.
Totally. First, she always starts with songs from her happy aura.
What we have is a fairy tale romance.
And I never want this chapter to end.
I'm having a big, fun weekend.
And I'm hanging out with my friends.
I'm on a brand new hat.
And I'm bringing it to the dance.
You know she's going to do songs from her sad aura.
All alone in my lonely, lonely room.
All by myself, thinking about sad things that make me cry.
And now it's raining on all my outs of furniture.
The next one is my favorite, her happy and sad at the same time aura.
My feelings are so complex.
And baby I love it, I love it.
Then there's the mean aura.
I'm getting revenge on my enemies.
Revenge on my enemies.
If you are my enemy, get out of my way, okay?
And it would be awesome, awesome, awesome if I never had to see you again.
This one is the nice aura.
You have a really great smile and a really great doll, can I pet it?
Do you want to share my french fries?
I'm not going to eat them all.
You can have as many as you want because you're my best friend.
So come on, come on, come on.
And share my french fries.
The spooky aura. The silly and goofy aura.
And then the best part of every Skyler Twist concert, the secret surprise song.
It's time for the moment you've all been waiting for.
Tonight's secret surprise song is...
Oh no, huh? Oh no, all the lights went out.
Is this part of the concert?
This is not part of the concert, we're having a...
Oh no, I think she's having a...
Technical malfunction.
We'll be right back after a few words for the grown -up.
Oh no, I think she's having a...
Technical malfunction.
How will she perform the rest of her songs if all the lights are out?
How will she announce her new aura?
How will she give one lucky fan her left shoe?
We apologize for the delay.
The concert is paused while we try to fix the lights.
We would like to know if anyone out there has any experience fixing technology.
Wait a second, I know how to fix technology.
Me, me, me. I think I hear Nimini, she is one of my best fans.
Let her on stage, quick, quick.
Maybe she can fix our lights so that the show can go on.
Skylar Twist knows my name.
Skylar, I'm here, on stage!
Where's the lighting grid?
Right here. Oh wow, it looks like the whole thing got totally fried.
Okay, I'm gonna need a 12 -inch doohickey, 400 wires, a big heavy battery, a pair of scissors, a lawnmower, and a Beats UK UCP cable.
Here you go. That was so fast.
Okay, the first thing I need to do is consult the manual.
Done. Now I need to check the power source.
Done. Okay, now I need to plug all of this stuff into that stuff.
Press some of these buttons.
Done. Now I'm going to troubleshoot.
Done. Unplug and plug back in.
Done. Now I'm gonna watch this YouTube video.
Okay, so all the lights went out at a Skylar Twist concert on your pirate ship while all of your friends were given a job except for you.
Here's what you're gonna wanna do.
First, plug all of this stuff into that stuff.
I already did that.
Okay, just need to plug in this one last thing and...
Voila! You did it! Oh my goodness, you fixed the lights, Niminey.
You saved the concert.
Everybody, let's hear it for Niminey.
I don't know how I could ever thank you.
But for starters, I'd like to give you my left shoe.
No way. No way! I can't believe it.
And for the first time ever, I'd also like to give you my right shoe.
What? Wow! What a...
What a... Twist? Twist is my middle name.
Skylar Twist? Twist?
Huh. I guess so. I've never realized that.
That's funny. Well, thank you, Skylar.
I love your music so much.
Every aura is so good.
Speaking of which, everybody, I'm excited to announce that my newest aura is...
Greenish Blue. I can't believe this is happening to me.
Niminey, will you sing the next song with me?
I would love to. Tonight's special secret song is from my 2017 album BFFs, and it's dedicated to my newest BFFs, Meghan, Rachel, Lee, Eric, Peter, and most importantly, Niminey.
Here we go. Friendship is everywhere, can't you see?
Cause you can't spell BFF.
No, you can't spell BFF without you and me.
Wow, Niminey really saved the day.
This concert is so fun!
I'm a full -on twisty now.
Hello. What? It's a 3 ,000 pound oracle whale.
You must be Skylar Twist's biggest fan.
I've never missed a show, but this is the best one I've ever seen, and it's all thanks to the story pirates, mainly Niminey, but everyone else too.
Did you like my chair and my song?
Yeah, no, totally. Well, it was nice to see you.
Meghan, should we do another story?
Yeah. And here to introduce it is the author.
Hi, my name's Celia.
And my name is Reina.
And we're seven -year -old twins, and we live in Ontario.
This is our story, what happened to our songscreens.
The story of moonscreens.
Hey, everybody, you're tuned in to 102 .5 The Tide, the only radio station broadcasting live from the beach.
I'm your host, Sandin Yersoot.
The sun is beating down, so keep those umbrellas up, those visors down and those limbs covered.
It's Sandin on the Sea.
Rose, come in out of the water and have this delicious wrap for lunch.
I'm coming, Mom! Rune, dear, would you get the sunscreen out for our daughter?
Sure thing. Oh, I'm so glad we finally made that out here to the beach.
I've been wanting to come all summer.
Here I come. How is the water?
Great. You want to feel?
I don't know. Rose, are you getting us all wet?
Come on. Come on. I guess that seagull didn't like getting wet either.
Well, it serves them right.
Seagulls are the only bad thing about the beach.
Flying rats, if you ask me.
It's true. We don't like seagulls.
Okay. Here's your wrap and some more sunscreen.
Oh, no. That seagull took my sunscreen.
Where are you going with my daughter's sunscreen, you gulls?
Oh, no. This isn't a delicious wrap, like I thought.
It's sunscreen. What a rude family.
Well, two can play at that game.
Or four, I guess, if there's three of them and one of me.
And who exactly is me?
A magician disguised as a seagull.
Sure, it's not my true form, but I still take offense at what those parents said about seagulls.
You know, I think it's time to give them some SPF.
Sinister plan of fun to teach them a lesson.
I like to have music on while I work.
Let's see what Sandeen is playing right now.
Hey, beach cobbers.
It's Sandeen Your Suits at 102 .5 the time.
Before the sun starts to set here at the beach, a quick reminder that the 102 .5 dance and hula hoop competitions are tonight.
So enjoy the fun in the sun while you can, and we'll see you on the dance floor.
Well, the sun is finally setting.
I suppose we should pack up and head back home.
Yeah. Ever since that seagull took our sunscreen, we've been forced to huddle under these blankets in the shade under the overhang of the bathrooms.
Here's another one of those accursed birds.
Wait, look. In its mouth, it's got our sunscreen.
It must be the same bird.
Oh, nasty. Did it just poop a bunch?
That's all that seagulls do, you know.
It's all they do. No, it gave us back our sunscreen.
Thank you. I'm going to put this on and take one more dip in the waves.
Oh, it looks a little weird.
And look, on the outside it says, moon screen?
Moon screen? That's right.
Moon screen. Whoa. Who are you?
A teen lifeguard? But you have a full long white beard.
I'm trying something.
It's what being a teen is all about.
Now, you better put on that moon screen.
You don't want to get a moon burn, do you?
I don't. Here I go.
I guess I should reapply too.
Me too. Yes, yes. Use it all.
Wait a minute. I feel kind of off.
Rose, why are you wiggling your butt like that?
I'm not trying to move like this.
Now I'm feeling kind of off.
Whoa. Honey? Mom? I can't stop wiggling my butt either.
Oh, oh no. Now my butt is wiggling.
What's happening? Whoa.
That teen lifeguard just turned into a seagull.
That's right. Why are you doing this to us?
Because your parents were rude about seagulls.
So I'm going to teach you a lesson you'll never forget.
Seagulls? No. No seagulls.
I hate seagulls. Come on everybody.
Let's get out of here.
Wiggle your butts this way.
Hey, it's Sandin. Your suit.
Broadcasting live from the 102 .5 Le Ty.
Hula hoop competition here on the boardwalk, where we're still looking for contestants.
My station manager said people don't want to sign up because there is no prize, but I'm going to hold out for a couple of folks who just love to hoop for hoop sake.
Would any of you like to perform in the hula hoop competition taking place now and sponsored by 102 .5 the Ty?
I'll do it. So will I.
Mom, what? Why? Maybe if we hula hoop enough the wiggle will stop.
Looks like we've got two competitors.
Here folks, grab these hula hoops and on the count of three let's start.
Sorry Sandin, but we can't wait for three.
Our butts won't stop wiggling.
Oh, we love to see it.
And listeners, we'll be back in a few moments when it's all over to declare a winner.
We're back. For those of you following along, we're in our third hour of this hula hoop competition and there are no signs of these two stopping.
I'm so tired. But my butts, it just won't stop wiggling.
Come on. The dance competition was supposed to start an hour ago.
What gives? Yeah! We're ready.
What's going on here?
Folks, we have to get on with the dance competition part of the evening.
So I'm going to go ahead and declare you both winners.
Yay! What did we win?
There is no prize. Aww.
If you'll hand me back your hula hoops, you can stop wiggling now.
They literally can't.
None of us can. Well, okay.
If you've got ants in your pants, then you might need to dance.
Might as well stick around for the three person dance competitions sponsored by the Tide.
Folks, are you ready to dance?
All right. Okay, last group dancing wins.
So get into your groups of three and begin in three, two, one.
We still can't stop wiggling our butts.
Ha ha ha ha ha. Ta -da!
How's the moon screen treating you?
You! You mean magician.
What are you doing here?
Well, you all look like you're having so much fun dancing.
I just had to join in.
But who are you going to dance with?
With this flock of seagulls, of course.
Let's boogie, seagulls.
Go! Welcome back to our seven of the 102 .5 dance competition in which the last two groups standing are a family...
Oh, wiggles. ...and a bearded teen lifeguard surrounded by an unruly flock of seagulls.
What a beautiful mess we're making.
Please make it stop.
Stop what? Your butt wiggling?
Please, we promise to never speak poorly of seagulls ever again.
Oh. Well, in that case, okay.
And it looks like those seagulls have suddenly vanished, which means this family wins.
Folks, you've won. You can stop that butt wiggling.
We literally can't.
It's the moon screen.
I have no idea what that means, but here's your prize.
Sunscreen. That's it!
If moon screen got us into this mess, then sunscreen must be the key to get us out.
Here. Hey, my butt!
It stopped wiggling.
Mine too. Hooray! Well, I hope now you'll think twice before you badmouth seagulls.
Seagulls? We love seagulls.
It's magicians we don't like now.
Why, I oughta. Everybody run!
The end! And now it's time for Story Pirates Roll Call.
First up, we have a story from Rex, a seven -year -old in Massachusetts called The World's Biggest Baguette.
And if you don't know what a baguette is, it's a loaf of bread, kind of.
It's like a long kind of loaf of bread.
Here's what the story says.
Ahem. Once I was sleeping in my bed, and it was early morning, and I heard a big thunk.
I opened the door, and I saw a giant baguette covering my street.
Then I called the police, and they could knock the baguette out of its spot.
The end! With three question marks!
I love it when a story ends with the end.
And then a bunch of question marks, because it just sets your imagination a fire.
Amazing story, Rex.
Thanks for sending it in.
Next up, from Pearl and Oliveen from Tennessee, we have a story called The Trees with Growing Pains.
You probably thought growing pains were just for humans, right?
But no, they are also for trees.
And what does a growing pain feel like to a tree?
Well, according to Pearl and Oliveen, it feels like cramping!
But don't worry, things work out for the trees in this story.
And they end up living in a house with a roller skating rink that's owned by a cat named Ross.
That was very nice to them.
So, yeah, everything worked out.
They roller skated all day and night and lived happily ever after.
Pearl, Oliveen, incredible work.
And finally, from five -year -old Ryan in California, we have a story called The Mooze.
Have you ever left milk in a cup or a bottle and it's like by the sink, but you haven't emptied it out yet and it kind of sits there for a couple days?
And then when you finally dump it into the sink, it's not really milk anymore.
It's more of an ooze or a mooze?
Well, that's what happens in Ryan's story, except The Mooze then comes alive and starts causing problems and chaos everywhere it goes is.
It made popcorn kernels explode and the roofs of houses go flying into the air.
Boy, and then The Mooze tries to take over the whole world by crossing the ocean.
It's pretty bad, but eventually, don't worry, The Mooze makes its way down to the deepest, darkest trench, AKA The Mariana Trench in the ocean, and is never heard from again.
Ryan, great word, mooze, an even better story, my friend.

That was Roll Call.
Now it's time for you to write us a story, and if you don't know where to start, here's one idea.
Take a picture of something normal and every day, and then make up a story of what you imagine could be happening in the picture, kind of like this from Harriet and Lena, the authors of What Happened to Our Sunscreen?
Okay, so Harriet and Lena, can you describe the picture you took?
It's a rock and it's called Junipert.
All right, so it's a picture of a rock with a little googly eye, and it's called the Junapig.
Got it. What's your story idea for what could be happening in this picture?
So there's this page, and when it gets home, animals walk over it then, and then the light bulb falls off of the ceiling, and the eyeball comes off, but there's a guinea pig, and the guinea pig helps it because the guinea pig has a wand.
You see, listeners, sometimes writing a story is about finding an image that inspires you.
Grownups can submit stories and, if you want, the photos that inspired them at storypirates .com, and remember, we respond to every single story we receive.
And don't forget, Grownups, your family can try Six Issues of the Week Jr.
risk -free by visiting theweekjunior .com slash storypirates.
Every issue of the week junior has a section called Photos of the Week that has some amazing photos to write stories about, and honestly, I think you're going to love the week junior whether you write a story or not.
That's it for today's episode.
Thanks for listening, and a big thanks to today's authors, Julian, Lena, and Harriet.
We'll be back next week with another episode.
Until then, stay creative, and please, stay kind.

Yes! Oh, wow! I loved it!
Me too! My favorite song was Fairy Tail Romance.
What about yours? My what?
Your favorite song.
Oh, my favorite song!
Um...my favorite song was Hello, Donut!
Hello, Donut? I don't know that one.
Well, it's great. Peter, I'm pretty sure Skyler didn't play anything like that.
Yes, she did! Oh, yeah?
How does it go? How does what go?
Hello, Donut. Oh, how does the song go?
Well, you know, that's the one that's all like...
That's the one that's like, hmm, hello, hello.
It's a hello, donut.
Hello, donut. It's hello.
Hello, donut. What you doing over there, Edmond?
Your donut house is knock, knock.
Who's there? It's a donut.
Can I borrow a cup of sugar?
Aim your neighbor, donut.
Hey, my neighbor, Shannon and I.
You didn't watch the concert at all, did you?
Fine! I was backstage the whole time.
Skyler said I had to try all the snacks and by the time I finished, the concert was over, and Skyler left and everyone else was asleep except for the one small pot -ballied pig who gave me a small jewel that's magic.
You made up that part about the pig, right?
How could you tell?
