Good morning, guys.
It's Syd, and welcome back.
Rise back up.
Do a pink green shuffle.
This week we're doing a wellness vlog.
The older i get and the more i learn about my health and i learn about my body and the way foods are digested and like how workouts impact me on a deeper level the more i feel like inclined and motivated to take care of myself, which makes a lot of sense.
I've been listening to like a lot of podcasts.
I've been really intrigued by these things.
Maybe i took the wrong life path.
Maybe, maybe i should be a dietitian.
No, take this with a grain of salt.
I really think that's important to know.
Like I am not perfect.
These are just like habits and things that I've been trying to implement.
It's a Monday and I'm gonna start my week getting some fresh groceries from the farmer's market.
Sorry, I actually lied.
Before I go to the farmer's market, I wanted to take you guys from the very start of my morning, like the first thing I do when I wake up.
One thing I have been very consistent with out of fear is having a glass full of water first thing in the morning.
When I say out of fear.
You know, this actually did work in my favor, because I do drink water every morning now.
When I was really young, I was getting migraines all the time with like the aura.
I couldn't see anything.
They were pretty bad.
And so I went to the doctor and he asked me the question, do you drink enough water?
Clearly I wasn't, because after that I really made it an effort to drink water first thing in the morning.
Especially after you sleep overnight.
You really need to like replenish all that hydration that you've lost.
And ever since then I've been doing it every single morning and I've hardly gotten any migraines since.
And now if I don't drink water first thing in the morning, I'm scared.
I'm just scared that I'm going to get a migraine.
I'm not making any claims here, but.
And then I'm going to take a probiotic.
I got this one on Amazon actually.
There's a few other supplements I take.
I decided to wear a tank top today and I just forgot that it's not actually summer yet.
So this will be much needed.
So I just got off the train and I saw this bone broth stand from Spring Bone.
I've heard that bone broth is really good for you.
So I've been trying to drink it more as like a substitute to coffee sometimes.
And when it's really cold, I really like it.
So, hi.
Can I have just like a small bone broth, please?
Thank you.
I just spilled.
Now my new sweater's gonna smell like chicken.
I got the immunity broth.
This one.
I think they just add a little bit of ginger and vitamin C to the broth, which I think is always good.
So I'm gonna walk around the farmer's market, see what I find.
After the farmer's market, I had this meeting at a coffee shop.
So I ordered a hot peppermint tea.
Something I've been drinking a lot more recently has been tea.
It just makes me feel good.
I love it in the winter months because it's warm.
And especially if it's later in the day, like at this time, I try to avoid caffeine.
I'd say after like 4 pm.
So i just got out of my meeting.
I was just meeting the girl who runs the social media because i had to give her some new jewelry pieces, so we met up here.
I'm almost done with my peppermint tea and i was gonna go home.
But i was going through my wallet and i saw that i have this massage card used up.
I used to go to this massage place all the time, so i used to live right around here, but then i moved, so i didn't know.
I filled up this whole reward card thing And I never fill up cards.
Like I always lose them before I finish them.
So I get a free massage and I'm right here.
And it's a wellness vlog, which means I should get a massage.
I'm really reaching.
Update, I did do it.
Great massage.
Honestly, 10 out of 10.
The problem after getting a massage is I just want to go straight to sleep.
Like I could probably fall asleep right now.
Anyways, now I'm going to make some dinner.
I want to show you guys what I got at the farmer's market earlier.
I never did a haul.
I picked up a little fresh produce and a couple things.
The first thing I got though was just some sourdough bread.
I'm going to use this for the next couple days and then after that I'm just going to freeze it because I want to like save it for a while.
But that is going to be a part of the dinner tonight.
Actually all of this is going to be for dinner.
Next I got some little.
I don't know if they call them mini sweet potatoes or fingerlings sweet potatoes.
These are like easier to chop.
I don't really know if there's a big taste difference.
And then I also got some really fresh mixed greens.
Mixed greens are one of my favorite things to get at a farmer's market.
And then I also got an apple.
My plan is to make maybe like a little salad with all of this stuff, with sweet potato, the mixed greens.
And then I also have some chicken in my fridge.
So I'll try to use that and like make up a dressing.
We'll see.
I feel like i can put something together here.
Also, my roommate's not home and i'm really lonely, so that has no relevance.
I just wanted to say that before i even start cooking, i need to make sure this is good.
I literally put this in my purse because i had no bag with me and i felt really weird walking around with sourdough in my purse.
Workout of the day was doing that.
All right, fresh sourdough, There's like nothing better.
I used to actually hate sweet potatoes, and my roommate Olivia, was the one who got me to like them, because she showed me how good it is when you season them with cinnamon.
Nothing I would have ever done myself or like thought to do.
And once she introduced me to that, I have been so obsessed with sweet potatoes.
So that's what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna put these all in this bowl and just coat them with some olive oil, some cinnamon, some salt, some like basic seasonings.
And then I'm gonna throw these in the air fryer, start cooking the chicken and chop the apple, I guess.
That's kind of it.
Dinner is ready and I am honestly really impressed with myself because I didn't follow a recipe which usually freaks me out, because I think I'm just so type A.
I need to have all the instructions and like measurements laid out for me.
Kind of annoying like that.
But I just threw together kind of some random stuff so I'll show you.
So this is the salad.
I put some apples.
I had some crushed pecans too I put in there and then chicken and parmesan.
I also put together this little dressing and I'm going to put the ingredients on the screen.
I also have my sweet potatoes over there.
I'm probably going to get way more.
I have my sourdough toasted.
I'm telling you guys, this dressing is amazing.
I usually have everything on hand for it and it's so good and fresh.
Anyways, I'm going to eat and turn something on.
That dinner was so good, I ended up having three plates, so I'm very full.
I did just eat a Reese's peanut butter cup, so I forgot to film that.
Balance, everybody, it's balance.
I'm gonna get ready for bed because I'm so tired.
My good friend just got me for Christmas a journaling Bible, which I haven't had before.
It's everything that your Bible has, except for this.
One has margins on the side that you can take notes in.
I'm gonna do this for a little bit before bed and not go on my phone, because the last 20 minutes before bed I really try to not go on my phone because it really does disrupt my sleep.
Good morning guys.
I am at solid core.
I'm doing a workout class here and i've never done one of these classes.
I'm really nervous.
We're gonna see how this goes.
You know, i'm actually like really nervous for this because, like this hurt is like really hard.
Push me back.
People always told me that solid core moves really fast compared to regular pilates, and they were right.
That would be my biggest description.
It was so hard guys, but i did enjoy it.
The coach was so nice.
I just died in there.
I really just died.
It was as hard as everyone says.
I did have to like modify so much.
Holding my phone right now is really painful.
Like I'm that sore.
I can't even hold my phone.
Anyways, I got a little Dunkin' protein refresher after.
This is so good.
Like 10 out of 10.
Great little post-workout snack for me.
All right guys, I'm back home.
I have like no energy right now because I am so exhausted from that.
I'm honestly proud of myself for going though.
I was like pretty nervous for this, because people like talk about solid core all the time and how hard it is.
And I've just heard some like pretty intense stories about it.
So I'm just glad that I went and I did it.
I just prepared my lunch.
I just threw together leftovers from last night.
The same exact thing I had, the salad with sweet potato, chicken and everything.
I do think this is gonna be my new lunch rotation.
I kind of like obsess over a food for a month or two or like a meal or like breakfast.
And I think this is probably gonna be the one that I make a lot because it's so good and easy.
My days are always so much better when I work out in the morning.
Like working out in the morning and making my bed are the two things that really changed the trajectory of my day.
This year you guys are gonna be seeing a lot more of me in my kitchen.
If you've watched me, you know that I've been really trying to cook more and I've actually been enjoying it more.
Something I never thought I would say.
It's definitely been a progressional thing for me.
I didn't just wake up one day and like to cook.
And I'd still say I'm not fully there yet.
So I like something that's easy and convenient, which is why I was so excited when Green Chef asked to work with me.
Green Chef makes things so much simpler for me because it takes out the grocery shopping, the ingredient prepping and being a lazy girl chef myself, I really appreciate that.
I decided to personalize mine.
I like that you can do that.
You can choose high protein meals, high fiber meals, whatever your goals are.
So the one I'm gonna make tonight is a chicken pesto and rice bowl with squash.
I recently started liking squash.
All of the ingredients are pre-measured, which just like makes for such less of a mess too.
I think this is a really good thing if you're trying to cook more, but like you're not fully there, like me,
I'm definitely gonna be using this a lot.
I'm sure you guys will be seeing me use this often this year.
I'm really excited to cook and I'm also cooking for my boyfriend because this makes two meals.
So he's gonna come over for dinner and I love cooking for him.
I've found it's like part of an act of service.
That is one of my love languages that I never knew about until recently.
So I'm going to start cooking.
But if you guys want to check out Green Chef, you can go to greenchefcom.
Slash Sid Graza and use code Sid Graza to get started with 50 off with Green Chef and get a free Graza olive oil set in your second and third boxes.
Again, it's code Sid Graza at greenchef.com slash Sid Graza.
Let's get cooking.
After the chicken and veggies were cooked, I put in the pre-made pesto that they had some lemon, and then I dished the plates out with the rice and the peas.
This was so good.
Like rewatching this back while I'm editing, I want it again right now.
I really want to reorder actually this specific meal from them.
So good and something I felt really proud to make considering I usually cook very simple meals.
My boyfriend and I devoured this green chef probably within five minutes.
I wish you guys could taste this, it's so good.
Definitely a recipe I'm gonna start making for dinner, probably on rotation now.
We both approve and recommend, 10 out of 10.
Good morning, guys.
Happy Wednesday.
This was technically my first meal of the week where I ate out.
I've been trying to eat out a lot less, so I was working out and I just picked up this breakfast bowl kind of random, not something I'd usually order, but it was pretty good.
And then I went back home where I'll update you.
Good morning.
Actually, good afternoon.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry I didn't vlog this morning.
It's 4 p.m.
Sorry, wow.
There's always one day when the vlogging is just not up to par.
I am deathly sore from yesterday's workout.
My whole body, every minor ligament, areas I didn't even know could be sore are sore.
I really don't want to do a whole strength training workout today because I need to chill, but I do want to just get my steps in.
Honestly, the biggest motivator I have for getting my steps in is I find that it helps me sleep better.
On days where I don't get my steps in, I just find it like I'm more restless at night.
And instead of going to the gym, recently I've been liking to just walk around the mall.
I find it a lot more fun and interesting.
I used to do this back home in Minnesota at the Mall of America.
I'd just walk around to get my steps in.
And it's kind of fun.
I feel like, you know what?
I think a lot of seniors do this.
No shame.
Why am I doing it then?
I don't know.
It's just a lot more fun and I like really enjoy it.
Sometimes I like get on a call for 45 minutes while I'm walking around.
So I'm gonna go do that and then I am going to figure out dinner.
I have no idea what I'm gonna do yet for that.
Let's go take a little casual walk in the mall.
Off I go to the mall.
I was starting really bleak, 2,300 steps.
So I had a lot of work to do.
I was there for about an hour, just walking around.
I had my favorite podcast by Rob Dial going, The Mindset Mentor.
Oh, I also called my mom, I think, for like half of it.
I kind of love this time.
It's like time to myself.
And then on the way home, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a couple things for dinner.
All right guys, I have made it back home.
I took the smart route this time and I Ubered because, if you watched my recent vlog, I decided to walk home one day with all of my heavy groceries and I got like such bad shoulder pain from that that lasted a whole week.
It makes me sound very unathletic when I say that story, so I kind of hate talking about it.
But I Ubered with my grocery bags because I had so many.
I picked up a ton of stuff for dinner.
I wanna make a little cottage cheese.
All right, stay with me.
It's gonna be good, trust me.
Like cottage cheese over toast with tomatoes that are roasted.
I saw it on TikTok.
TikTok is where I seem to go for like majority of my recipes nowadays.
So I wanted to get ingredients for that.
That was the main reason I went.
And then I also just like need to stock up on a few extra groceries.
I got a ton of snacks and things, so I wanted to show you.
I got these crackers.
These are my favorite.
I feel like a broken record.
I talk about them all the time.
I like to pair those with these mini sweet bell peppers.
They are so good.
I obviously need a type of condiment for this combo, so I like to pair it with some hummus.
I just got this garlic roasted hummus.
These three together on a platter, so delicious, like the best.
Healthy snack some cilantro.
I'm thinking of making avocado toast with that sourdough.
You guys are going to be tired of that sourdough by the end of this.
I got some fresh blueberries for like, maybe yogurt in the morning, some milk.
I do drink regular Wow, why am I holding this like a child?
That's a weird natural position that I took this upon.
I could go on a whole like five minute spiel about milk and I'm just gonna spare you all.
I used to drink oat milk.
I don't have a problem with people that drink oat milk.
I still like oat milk sometimes, but I feel like a lot of it's marketing.
I don't think it's like completely needed.
Some people I think truthfully like do react poorly to dairy milk.
I think some people are like prone to breaking out and acne and like stomach issues, lactose intolerance.
Like that's totally different than me.
I can't even speak on that.
In my opinion, I love milk.
And I've been drinking regular milk for like a year.
And luckily for me, I haven't had like any breakouts.
It hasn't caused me like any stomach issues.
So that's just my milk journey.
My milk journey that no one.
No one asked for.
And then the cottage cheese, which is gonna be a part of my dinner.
I got these mini cherry tomatoes because I am making essentially it's toast with cottage cheese and roasted baby tomatoes with like a garlic paste.
I also got garlic paste, wow.
Worst haul ever because I didn't show that.
So apparently all you do for this is just throw some cherry tomatoes, some olive oil and then some garlic paste into a pan and like roast it in the oven.
All right, I guess we just say a prayer, throw it in the oven and hope for the best.
This is what the tomato mixture currently looks like.
And I'm gonna throw in the oven, get started on my sourdough.
So I just pulled the tomatoes out of the oven.
They smell so amazing.
She said you should be able to mash them a little bit.
They mix in really well with the garlic.
Now I'm just taking my cream cheese and putting it on my toasted sourdough.
Some of the tomatoes with the garlic sauce.
I love balsamic glaze and I spent so long in the store looking for this.
So I'm gonna add a little bit of this on top.
All right, and there we have it.
It looks really good.
I'm really curious how this tastes.
Oh, I hope it's good.
Usually I feel really strongly one way or the other, but in this instance I sort of am neutral, which is really boring.
I thought I would have a very strong reaction.
It's good.
I'm definitely gonna eat this whole thing, but I don't think I would go out of my way to make this again.
I think, if anything, I would just rather make bruschetta.
So I got into bed and I got really tired.
I've just been on my phone doing absolutely nothing.
But I did eat some of these smart sweets.
They're so good.
And I ate the whole thing.
I do want to say this is not, I probably should have said this earlier.
This is not a what I eat in like a day or a week video.
I'm not showing every single thing I've eaten by far.
I'm kind of just showing you guys some of the healthier things I've been trying to do during the week.
I'm gonna read a little bit more of my Bible before bed, and then in the morning I have a workout class at Aloe.
It's not a workout class, it's Pilates.
My roommate and I are gonna go.
Love you.
Good morning, guys.
I am really tired right now, but I am getting ready to go work out and I have to leave in 10 minutes because I snoozed my alarm.
Yeah, this is a big problem for me.
I've been trying to not snooze my alarm in the mornings.
It just creates so many problems.
This is my little workout fit.
I just have an aloe sports bra and leggings.
My bed's gonna have to be made when I get back.
Come on three.
There you go all the way down.
Shift the hips back.
Booty is already on fire here.
Yes exhale, press it back up.
I'm dying.
That was so hard, especially because i'm so sore from my class two days ago i couldn't even speak throughout the class like i was dying.
But it was so good, it was so fun and i'm like so grateful that i get to come here.
Look at this cute new top that they gave me.
How nice they gave me this little gray zip up top with a little sports bra and some pants that i still have to put on.
This is the best way to start my day.
I'm gonna go figure out breakfast because i'm really hungry.
I just got back to my apartment and the very first thing I did was make myself food.
My go-to breakfast when I'm really lazy and just wanna throw something together is yogurt.
This is pretty much my staple yogurt bowl.
I put some unsweetened plain Greek yogurt and then I put a little bit of maple syrup on top, put some cinnamon in, some granola and then a ton of blueberries.
And that's my breakfast.
Then I went to go to work, which I had a iced vanilla latte with skim milk.
I'm trying to slowly taper off of vanilla in my lattes.
I don't know if this will ever truly happen, because I'm unfortunately addicted to it.
But then I was actually a bit hungry, so I decided to pick up a smoothie.
This one had banana strawberry, peanut butter, protein powder, and then for dinner i had my sourdough again, i'm obsessed with the sourdough with eggs, some of the tomato from the night before, cilantro and avocado, so i just kind of like made it up, threw things together, it was.
It was pretty good, though.
It did what it needed to do.
Good morning, happy Friday.
The first thing on my mind this morning was coffee, and I think I'm just gonna make some at my apartment.
I've recently started to make it at home, which usually I would go out, but I think it's a lot better to make it at home.
At least sometimes, just because obviously getting coffee out, it adds up, it's expensive.
I'm gonna show you guys what I've been doing.
This is very basic and I don't have a coffee machine.
I've been debating getting one.
Starting out with ice in a glass, of course.
First step, I'm taking some blonde roast.
I really like this unsweetened blonde roast.
I'm pouring this in my glass.
Coffee's in here and now I'm taking a little bit of some low-fat milk and pouring a splash of this.
For the most important part, I'm taking this creamer from Chobani.
This is their Zero Sugar Sweet Cream Creamer, and I really have been liking this.
And that's it.
That's my very basic easy latte.
Friday ended up being extremely tame for me.
As you can see, one of the things i did was i made a chamomile tea and i edited the vlog that you're actually watching right now, pretty much just sat at this new monitor that i got all day.
I also somehow feel more qualified to be a youtuber now that i have a monitor, even though i went 11 years without having one.
One of my many snacks throughout this day were these mini sweet bell peppers with the hummus.
You guys know how much i love this.
As you guys saw, I'm eating these peppers for my snack.
I'm really sad that I ran out of my crackers because I would be eating those with it.
This is really tripping me out that I'm filming and I'm also editing the same video.
Telepathy.
I guess I decided to take a break from just sitting at the desk like I've been doing all day.
I wanted to just like move my body a little bit, but I don't wanna like go fully work out, since I am so sore from yesterday and this week.
Something I've been getting into which I never really used to care about is stretching.
I actually used to be a pretty competitive gymnast when I was younger and I was so flexible And recently I realized just how stiff I am.
I can barely move.
I actually don't want to get into it.
It's going to sound bad and embarrassing for me, but I've learned the importance of stretching and that it's actually there are a lot of benefits to it.
So I've been just putting on little 10 minute YouTube videos, nothing crazy.
I really like doing this before bed because it kind of winds me down and it de-stresses my mind.
I'll try to link some of the stretching videos that I like.
I usually just do, like the quick 10 minute ones, nothing crazy.
And I just do it like right here on my rug because I don't have a yoga mat currently.
Really nothing fancy.
If you have access to YouTube, which you do if you're watching this video, then you can do it too.
So that's what I love about it.
Anyone can pretty much do it.
Hey guys, I am getting ready for bed now.
I'm having actually a very early night in.
You know, Friday night's in.
This is 25.
All right, I got to stop with that.
I'm definitely not perfect when it comes to this.
I have good days, I have bad days.
I eat junk food sometimes.
Like.
That's not the point of this, but I hope this kind of inspired you to just like, maybe cook at home a little bit more, maybe make small changes, like I've been trying to make.
It's really about the small things and like don't, you don't have to go overboard.
I know I talked about this in my New Year's vlog, but I'm proud of us this week.
I think we did pretty well.
Thanks for supporting me.
I love you guys and I'll see you in my next vlog.
Bye.
