Hello, everybody. My name is Coach Shane.

Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody. Welcome back to Daily Easy English Expression Podcast. Thank you so much for downloading and listening to the podcast. Today's podcast is brought to you by three new patrons.
Thank you so much for supporting me and the podcast and the videos, especially to the New Patrons, that is Kyonghee Kim, Felipe Beguin, and Zoe An.
Thank you so much for your contributions!
It helps a LOT! Now, today's expression is similar to an expression we studied a couple days ago.
Do you remember we studied to tinker around with something?
and that means to you know work on something to try and fix something to try and make something better and when we say tinker around the idea of tinker is the noise so we should imagine tools like a hammer a screwdriver a wrench Well, today we've got a similar expression, and it is to tweak something.
T -W -E -A -K. So tinker around means moving things around, really changing something.
But to tweak something means to make a really tiny change, a very small change.
So listen to the word. tweak...
it sounds tiny. So a good idea for tweaking would be to tweak a recipe.
So you're cooking food and the food is good but it's a little bit boring.
What can we do, something little, to change the flavor.
We could tweak the recipe by adding a spice, maybe cumin, which is a very hot spicy spice, or I don't know maybe sugar, I don't know, something to change the taste just a little bit to make it better.
Now in our dialog we have the most common example of to tweak something.
So, listen up! What are you doing tweaking my resume?
It looks fine. What about this font instead?
That does look better!
OK, so the guy is working on his resume.
In America we say resume, but in many countries they say CV or Curriculum Vitae.
It's the same thing.
In America, once again, we say resumé.
And he's working on his resumé.
Everything is fine, but he's changing the font, the style of the words.
So the words are all the same.
He's just changing the style of the words.
He's tweaking his resumé.
and sometimes by changing the font, your resume looks much better.
Another great example would be when you're listening to the radio, and the radio it's coming in good, but sometimes, ck, you lose a little bit of sound, or it's not in stereo, so you can tweak the dial.
You can move the frequency just a little bit And then the radio comes in better.
The signal is better for the radio.
That is the idea to tweak something.
You could tweak your hair, tweak your makeup, tweak your clothing, tweak your resume, tweak your schedule.
There are many things that you could tweak to make a very tiny adjustment to something in order to make it better.
Can you give me an example?
Let's listen to the dialog two more times and then I'll tell you how to contact me.
What are you doing?
Tweaking my resume.
It looks fine. Hmm.
What about this font instead?
Oh that does look better!
What are you doing?
Tweaking my resume.
It looks fine. Hmm.
What about this font instead?
Oh that does look better.
Okay, so if there's an example that you can tell me of when you tweak something, send it to me on Twitter at CoachShane or on Facebook, ESLCoachShane or we have a community on Google Plus and the community name is Let's Master English.
And if you can sponsor me, can help us out, help us pay for the podcasts and the videos and the computers and the electricity and the rent, I would have, I cannot tell you how thankful I would be.
It means so much and you can do it for a dollar a month.
That's like three cents a day, a dollar a month and if I got a thousand people at a dollar a month that would help me out so much and you can do that by going to www .patreon .com slash Coach Shane.
Once again, www .patreon, P -A -T -R -E -O -N, dot com, C -O -M, slash Coach Shane, C -O -A -C -H, S -H -A -N -E.
Most of the people, they give a dollar, sometimes two dollars, sometimes five dollars, sometimes ten dollars anything would help so much. So what happens if you join Patreon, you sign up, you need a credit card. Yeah I know, some of you don't have one, that's okay, don't worry.
But if you have a credit card, you sign up and at the end of the month, they will charge you.
So if you say, Shane, I want to give you $1 ,000, thank you so much. But remember, they'll charge you $1 ,000 this month, And then next month they'll charge you a thousand dollars again So don't worry you can change you can you can say a thousand dollars this month, and then from next month one dollar That would be awesome Okay, you guys have a fantastic day, and I'll see you tomorrow.
Bye. Bye. Oh don't forget together Let's master English
