Hello, my friends, and welcome back to the English with Neil Learn English podcast.
How's everyone doing today?
In this episode, I'd like to talk about the three wise monkeys.
If you want to see a picture of the three wise monkeys, go to your search engine, go to Google, go to Yahoo and type in three wise monkeys.
So the three wise monkeys are these three monkeys.
They're statues.
And they're doing different actions.
And they all have different names.
So the first monkey, his name is Mizaru.
Mizaru sees no evil so he covers his eyes.
The next monkey is Kikazaru.
He hears no evil so he covers his ears.
The last monkey is Iwazaru, who speaks no evil, so he covers his mouth.
And this is just a metaphor.
These monkeys are here to teach us a lesson, to remind us.
And the lesson is see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.
Now what does this mean?
What do these three things mean?
Well, the meaning is simple.
The meeting is about not dwelling on evil thoughts, not engaging in things that are negative.
I don't know about you, but I can agree with this.
If I see no evil...
If I don't see any evil, whether in reality or through films, I will do no evil.
Hear no evil.
If I'm not listening to anything negative, chances are I'm not going to be negative.
And if I speak no evil, if negative thoughts are not coming out of my mouth, then I will not be an evil person.
I think this is great.
I love this analogy go ahead right now go go, go on google, type in three wise monkeys, and that's why, that's why i love history so much like, i think, the people who are here before us.
Like you know, hundreds and thousands of years ago i think they just had this, they just had this wisdom that i don't really see anymore in people i really don't like.
I mean, there's a lot of like internet gurus, and Now, with YouTube, everybody's a guru now.
Everyone wants to be someone special.
But the people that were here before us, they had this wisdom.
That was just like, It was just amazing.
I can't really put it into words, but I love this.
I love learning about lessons from the past.
And the great thing is that we can apply these lessons till now.
You know, I did an episode a while back called Life Changing Proverbs.
Check that episode out.
That's a video podcast.
I did that one a while back.
But I talked about these five proverbs.
And these proverbs were created hundreds, possibly thousands of years ago, but we can still apply them to today.
And that's amazing.
That is just absolutely amazing, this knowledge that we have.
You know, this ancient knowledge that is still applicable till today.
I love it.
So again, see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.
Let's apply this to our lives and see how better our lives could be.
Alright my friends, that is it for today's episode.
Thank you for tuning in to the English with Neil podcast.
I look forward to speaking with you in the next one.
Take care everyone and talk to you soon.
Peace.
