nuke it nuke it n -u -k -e It what does it mean to nuke?
Nuke something, oh it sounds scary Nuke, we might think of a nuclear war, a nuclear bomb, very horrible weapon, but in this case we're talking about the microwave. Do you have a microwave?
Do you use it maybe to cook sometimes?
Maybe to make popcorn?
very popular in making popcorn in a microwave or just simply heating up food.
In my case when do I use a microwave?
When my coffee gets too cold.
Yeah actually many of you know I buy one coffee every day it gives me my energy.
I buy a caramel macchiato venti from Starbucks every day.
It's my addiction! It's my vice!
But that one coffee lasts me ALL DAY LONG.
Yeah, it's a big coffee.
It lasts all day long.
So, you know, during the day, it gets cold and I have to nuke it.
I have to put it in the microwave for 60 seconds and then I can drink my nice hot coffee!
Let's check out the dialogue!
You should heat up that sandwich before you eat it.
I'll nuke it. No, that's bad!
Just put it in the oven for ten minutes!
But I wanna eat now!
Yes, that's true. I have seen research that says nuking your food is actually not that good.
It could be bad for you.
So, you know, people, we live in a hurry.
Everything's got to be quick, quick, quick, quick, quick.
And me too, I'm guilty.
I do use a microwave sometimes.
But when I do have a little bit of time, I do like to use the stove or the oven.
And I'm sorry, if you heat something up in the oven or on the stove, especially on a low flame, not too much heat, just a long cook, it tastes better.
It really does but once again, I am guilty when I want my coffee.
I want my coffee now Not one minute later or two minutes later.
I want it now So I use the microwave, but maybe we should stop you know our lives are so busy Wouldn't it be nice to?
Absolutely guarantee eating healthy food cooked slowly Maybe.
Maybe. But right now I do want a coffee so I think I will nuke it.
I'm such a terrible coach. I'm not a life coach. I'm an English coach. Let's listen to that dialogue 2 more times!
