Good morning and welcome to Kid News.
I'm Tori.
Today is Friday, February 20th, 2026.
And we begin with the epic comeback of Alyssa Liu Complete.
The Californian who walked away from figure skating at 16 after losing her love of the sport, is now the first American woman to win Olympic gold in 24 years.
Quitting, she says, was the best thing she's ever done.
Alyssa spent two years off the ice before deciding to come back on her own terms, which meant skating solely for the joy and artistry of it.
It certainly showed last night, and almost as a byproduct, she clobbered the competition.
As far as the rest of the Blade Angels, Amber Glenn pulled herself from 13th to 5th and Isabeau Levito took 12th.
It was also a good day for American women in a different rink, where the US hockey team won gold in a thrilling overtime win over Canada.
There have been many memorable moments at these games, but one that has a lot of people talking is the sudden appearance of Nazgul, the wolf dog that dashed into the heart of a woman's cross-country skiing race on Wednesday.
One Croatian skier told NPR she was pretty shocked to see the animal on the track and wondered.
But Nazgul didn't just show up.
He showed out zooming across the finish line with two competitors.
The accidental athlete's sprint was even caught by the photo-finished camera.
Nazgul's Olympic escapade reportedly followed an escape from his doghouse at a nearby B&B.
Less than two weeks after winning the Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks are now for sale.
The team is currently owned by the estate of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
His sister Jody, has controlled the NFL franchise for the last eight years but is now following the instructions her brother left to put the team up for sale and direct all profits to charity.
There's no indication who might buy the Seahawks, but it's got to be a person or a group of people with a lot of money.
As ESPN has reported, the team could sell for between 7 and 8 billion.
Mr Allen bought the Seahawks in 1997 to prevent the team from leaving Seattle for Southern California.
It was the testimony many were waiting to hear in the landmark trial that accuses social media platforms of knowingly offering an addictive and harmful product to kids.
Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, took the stand in LA Wednesday to confirm his belief that there is no scientific proof that social media causes mental harm.
And when asked about Meta's policy on age limits, he stated users under the age of 13 aren't allowed.
But he admitted it's difficult to enforce as a meaningful number of people lie about their age.
According to AP News, children's advocates slammed Zuckerberg's testimony, saying it's proof he cannot be trusted when it comes to kids' safety.
The trial that started in late January is expected to take between six to eight weeks to complete.
The grandson of the inventor of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup says the candy is now leaving a bad taste in his mouth, literally.
70-year-old Brad Reese is accusing the Hershey Company of cutting corners by shifting to cheaper ingredients, not in the original Reese's Cups but in many of the other Reese's products.
In a letter to Hershey's corporate brand manager that was posted on LinkedIn, Reese says the candy had always been made with only milk chocolate and peanut butter, but he claims the chocolate is being replaced with compound coatings and, instead of peanut butter, peanut cream is being used.
The candy company acknowledged some recipe changes but said this week it was trying to meet consumer demand for innovation.
H.B.
Reese invented the peanut butter cups in 1928.
His six sons eventually sold the company to Hershey in 1963.

Women's basketball star Caitlin Clark is a huge fan of LeBron James and would love to follow in his footsteps in every way except one.
41-year-old James recently revealed that while recovering from an injury last year, he gave up his favorite dessert, chocolate chip cookies, for two months.
Clark immediately took to Instagram, saying she'd rather retire than make that sacrifice.
But she added, that's why he's him.
Clark has made no secret of her love for the sweet treat.
Two years ago, when asked by a reporter what she liked to do as much as play hoops, she said with a laugh making warm chocolate chip cookies.
