Good morning and welcome to Kid News.
I'm Tori.
Today is Friday, September 12th, 2025.
And we begin with a nine-year-old Pennsylvania boy who started class this week with kids twice his age.
Aidan Wilkins, ironically of Collegeville, is the youngest ever student at Ursinus College, where he's pursuing his dream of becoming a pediatric neurosurgeon.
Aidan says he's been fascinated by neurosurgery since the age of three, when he first started watching videos about the human brain.
So now three days a week, Aiden attends college classes alongside students who are 18, 19 and 20 years old.
The other two days, he logs in virtually as a high school sophomore at a charter school.
His matter-of-fact message for other kids?
All you have to do is put in work to do whatever you want to do.
Science fiction or science fact?
Members of Congress spent Wednesday trying to wrap their heads around never-before-seen video of a US missile basically bouncing off an unidentified flying object.
The video was sent anonymously to Missouri Representative Eric Burleson.
It shows, the rocket slam into the speeding object, which only wobbles slightly before continuing on its way.
A few pieces of debris appear to break off the UFO, but then they fall in line behind it.
It happened last October off the coast of Yemen, a country in the Middle East.
Congressional leaders admit the whole incident is, at least so far, a mystery.
After many years of scoffing at sightings of unidentified flying objects, the government is now taking such reports seriously.
This Sunday night will be all about television's highest honor, and fans are buzzing with Emmy excitement.
Heavy hitters like The White Lotus, The Last of Us Severance, The Bear and The Studio are poised to take home multiple awards across a range of categories.
The acting races are stacked with star power, featuring icons like Noah Wiley, Sterling K Brown, Kathy Bates, Pedro Pascal and Catherine O'Hara.
Also in the spotlight movie icon Harrison Ford, who just earned his first-ever television nomination at 83 years young for his supporting role in the comedy series Shrinking.
The Emmys will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount Plus Sunday night at 8 o'clock Eastern Daylight Time.
There may be a royal reconciliation in the works.
Prince Harry met up with King Charles for a private tea on Wednesday.
It's the first time the two have been together since February of last year, and this meeting lasted almost twice as long.
The 40-year-old Harry has expressed hope that he and his 76-year-old father can be close again.
Following years of tension that began with his decision to leave royal life, and moved to the U.S.
His tell-all book spare then made matters worse.
But there's apparently hope.
When asked by a reporter about his father after the reunion, Prince Harry said, Yes, he's great.
Thank you.
In today's Kid News, Sports Notes significant early season aches and pains for the San Francisco 49ers.
Just one game into the new season, quarterback Brock Purdy is reportedly sidelined with turf toe, which is a common football injury to the big toe joint and usually happens from sudden changes in direction.
He's likely to miss at least two games, perhaps as many as five.
Star tight end George Kittle also got banged up in the season opener and could be out for a month.
And to baseball and a homecoming for former Cubs all-star Anthony Rizzo.
The 36-year-old, who most recently played for the New York Yankees, will officially retire as a Chicago Cub during tomorrow's ceremony at Wrigley Field.
Rizzo's decade with Chicago from 2012 to 2021 was legendary.
The three-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glover helped break the franchise's 108-year title drought in 2016.
He also posted five straight MVP-caliber seasons and hit 30-plus homers four times, despite Wrigley's tough dimensions for lefties.
He is also a humanitarian.
Rizzo's charitable work with cancer patients earned him the Roberto Clemente Award in 2017.
Still to come, proof that it pays to look closely at your boarding pass.
But first we want to wish a happy 8th birthday to the amazing Johnny Dolan of Sammamish Washington.
Johnny, your mom, dad and big brothers, Danny and Billy, tell us you are kind and thoughtful and a force to be reckoned with, whether you're swimming, skiing or playing soccer, baseball or basketball.
They're all so proud of you and hope you have a wonderful birthday weekend.

In today's Kid News Kicker, they wanted to go to Nice in the south of France.
Instead, they ended up in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, which is on the African continent.
The mix-up happened when the two young American travelers missed their original flight out of Rome and asked the airline to rebook them.
Airline workers heard Tunis and sent them to Tunisian Airlines.
By the time the travelers realized the mistake, the plane's doors were already shut and they weren't allowed off.
They documented the drama in a series of videos on TikTok which racked up tens of millions of views.
Not everyone was sympathetic, however, and not everyone is buying their story.
One comment reported by Yahoo.
There are so many points of confirmation between the booking and boarding process that makes this both impossible and unbelievable.
