Today is Wednesday, August 27, 2025. And we begin with news that comes as a surprise to almost no one.

Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married. adding a dynamite emoji and a snippet of Ms.
Swift's song, So High School. The pair has been together for two years shortly after Travis announced on his podcast that he failed to get a friendship bracelet with his phone number to the singer at a concert.
That caught her attention, and the rest, as they say, is history.
At this point, there's no word on when or where the wedding will take place.
A big hang up for millions of kids headed back to class.
Coast to coast, 17 more states and the District of Columbia. are ringing in this school year with new smartphone rules.
That brings to 35 the number of U.S. states with laws limiting device use on campus.
Most ban phones bell to bell, some only during class.
Regardless, the speed with which these new laws are spreading is noteworthy.
Florida was the first to crack down, and that was only in 2023.
Since then, dozens more have followed suit.
Two states bucking the trend, Wyoming and Michigan, which both recently said no to new limits.
It happens almost every year, but that doesn't make it any less impressive.
A slow-moving, miles-wide, massive dust storm known as a haboob hit Phoenix, Arizona late Monday. bringing cars to a standstill, grounding flights and knocking out power to thousands.
According to the National Weather Service, these kinds of dust storms form when powerful winds from thunderstorms lift large amounts of silt and debris into the air.
The walls of dirt can measure thousands of feet high, arrive with little warning, drop visibility to near zero and as in this case, lead to rain that's like mud.
Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport resumed flights a few hours later, but did suffer damage to its roof.

It hopes so. The Mexican food chain is testing drone deliveries in the Dallas area by teaming up with Zipline. which will allow app users to get their fix from a whirlybird flying 300 feet in the air.
The new delivery option has been dubbed Zip Holtley.
CBS News reports that at first the drones will be remotely piloted, but the plan is to eventually automate them.
And LaBooBoos, those devilish little purse accessories that are all the rage, have a problem. a knock-off problem.
The fake ones, dubbed LeFouFou, have made their way to the US and the Consumer Product Safety Commission says they tend to fall apart easily and can be a choking hazard for your little brothers and sisters.
How to spot the difference? Among other telltale signs, real labubus have nine teeth, while lafufus have ten.

In today's Kid News Kicker, a question. Just because you can, does it mean you should?
We're talking about trying a ketchup smoothie, a crazy concoction thanks to a limited percentage partnership between Heinz and the Smoothie King franchises.
Ketchup is made from tomatoes, which are a fruit.
So the Heinz marketing department apparently thought.
Why not throw it in with strawberries, raspberries, acai sorbet, and apple juice and see what happens?
The mashup is certainly making headlines, with public reaction to it falling somewhere between repulsed and angry. and intrigued.
Those who tried it say it leans heavily toward the fruit, but that it also gives some V8 vibes.
