It's a battle of the BU's. Baylor University is suing Boston University over its logo. specifically the one that uses interlocking letters.
The lawsuit states that Boston University's mark is basically identical or at least confusingly similar to Baylor's. and is asking the court to make Boston University destroy all goods, packaging, signage, internet postings and advertisements that use an interlocking BU logo.
Baylor tried to patent its design in 1987, but Boston University opposed it. and Baylor was only able to get it federally registered, which is not the same as patented.
Both universities then signed an agreement that they must be able to coexist by using the letters BU for their respective universities.
How that applies when the letters interlock is now in the hands of the court.
