Good morning, and welcome to KidNews.
I'm Kim. Today is Wednesday June 11, 2025 and we begin with what could have been a door dash disaster.
A driver making a delivery got lost, really lost, and ended up on the tarmac of Chicago's O 'Hare Airport, not in some remote corner of it either.
Pictures from the scene show his red Hyundai stopped right next to a United Airlines wide body jet parked at Terminal 1, Concourse C, in the middle of the day on May 17th.
According to WGN Investigates, the driver entered through a security gate far from where he ended up, meaning he traveled quite a distance across the airfield without getting stopped or triggering an alarm.
Airport police grilled him but let him go after finding the food order and receipt in the car.
The guard that led him through, though, is not so lucky.
She no longer works at the airport.
Two world records in three days and four national records in four days.
Not bad for Canadian teen swimming sensation Summer MacIntosh, who's making big waves at the Canadian trials in British Columbia.
For Worlds, which will be held in Singapore in July and August, 18 -year -old Summers says she plans to race in five individual events.
Michael Phelps is so far the only swimmer to win five individual golds at a single Worlds.
That was in 2007, a feat he repeated at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he also won three relay golds for eight total.
Panda diplomacy gets a lot of attention, but how about some big cat cooperation?
According to The New York Times, during President Trump's recent trip to Saudi Arabia, he helped close the deal to bring two exceptionally rare Arabian leopards to the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D .C.
Zoo officials believe there are only 120 Arabian leopards left in the world and had been working for months to get their paws on a pair to help boost the population as part of their conservation program.
The zoo still has to build a proper habitat and choose the perfect leopard couple, but the paper reports if all goes according to plan, the cats will make it to the Capitol while Mr. Trump is still in office.
Chicago is churning out some pretty awesome ACT takers.
In all, at least 125 of the Windy City's public school students nailed a perfect score of 36 this school year.
According to Fox 32, the standout was Walter Payton College Prep, where 40 students ace the grueling college entrance exam.
Lane Tech College Prep followed with 24 and Whitney M.
Young Magnet High School reported 23.
Nationally, per the testing company, less than 1 % of all test -takers take home a perfect 36.
The countdown is on.
We're now just nine days from the 50th anniversary of the movie that kept and continues to keep a whole lot of people out of the water.
Jaws was shot on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, and released on June 20, 1975.
Just about everyone involved thought it would be a B -movie at best, but it went on to set box office records and put a target on the back of Great Whites everywhere.
Even director Steven Spielberg and author Peter Benchley later regretted the impact their movie had.
But for the Vineyard, the movie is something to celebrate.
And that's what it will be doing all next week with free screenings, shark tours, and for the really brave, a chance to dive with the great whites!
Still to come, it's hard not to root for an underdog, and this year's US Open has a doozy.
But first, we want to say congratulations to the Crydel Kids of Huntington Beach, California for finishing another awesome year of school.
Penelope, Cooper and Degan are chasing Stanley Cup dreams with Junior Ducks hockey, and Penelope is also a star figure skater.
Congratulations to all three of you and especially to Deegan, who's just about to start his school journey.

Look no further than Matt Vogt.
He's not a pro golfer, he's a dentist who as a kid caddied at Oakmont Country Club outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which just happens to be the course hosting this year's event.
Matt is ranked way way down at 1 ,173 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, but he shot 8 under par to win a qualifying tournament and a chance to compete against Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau, making the moment even more special, the memory of his dad!
I was looking up at the skies and I knew he was with me, he told Reuters.
I wish he was here to share it with me, but I know he's watching.
