Hello everybody, thank you so much for listening to my daily podcast. Today's expression, gonna set it better.
Oh yeah, I couldn't have set it better.
I couldn't have set it better.
What? I could not, of course we can say couldn't.
I couldn't have said, S -A -I -D, it better.
I could not have said it better.
Now let's listen to that American pronunciation.
Could not, we can say couldn't, but the faster we say it, we say couldn't.
And if we say it even faster, we can actually say can have we can actually cancel the H have said in this situation, we can also cancel the V.
So I couldn't have said it better Said it we get a connection set it set it set it Better in America we use the flap T sound.
So better sounds like better Set it better set it better.
I couldn't I couldn't I couldn't have said it better Oh, I couldn't have said it better.
I couldn't have said it better Boy oh boy, that pronunciation is difficult.
Yes, I know. I know it's difficult.
Those are the rules.

But what does this expression mean?
I couldn't have said it better.
I couldn't have said it better.
I couldn't have said it better.
That means what you said was perfect So for example, you and I go to an Italian restaurant and we order spaghetti and oh Oh my god mama mia the spaghetti is Excellent, and you say, oh Oh!
This spaghetti is perfecto!
And I say, oh, I couldn't have said it better.
I couldn't have said it better.
I could not have said it better.
What you said was exactly right.
It's a great expression.
Let's check out a dialogue.
Oh, look at that guy.
He's eating so much junk food.
That's why he's so fat.
Well you are what you eat.
I couldn't have said it better.
Oh boy yeah lots of good expressions today, so look at that guy, so they see some guy.
What is he doing? He's eating so much junk food.
So the guy is eating like hamburgers and french fries, like tons and tons of french fries.
He is eating more french fries than normally possible.
Grease, grease, grease.
And the other guy says that's why he is so fat.
Because he's eating all that greasy junk food.
He is very fat. And then the guy says, well, you are what you eat.
Now, that's a good expression.
You are what you eat.
And what that means is if you eat healthy foods, you are healthy.
If you eat bad foods, you are unhealthy.
And that's the idea.
This guy looks like an unhealthy fat hamburger.
You are what you eat.
And the other guy says, I couldn't have said it better, exactly.
What you said is exactly right.
Now I don't know if this is true because I eat chocolate every day and if I am what I eat I should look like a chocolate bar but I don't, no. But anyway, it's a great expression here.
I couldn't have said it better.
Now, the question is, can you use this expression at work?
Absolutely. Actually, this is a great expression.
If your boss says, wow, this report is excellent.
Yes, boss, I couldn't have said it better.
I agree. Now, of course, if it's your report, that does not show modesty.
You must be modest, but if your boss is talking about a different report or if your boss is talking about the news.
My goodness, that's an amazing news story.
Yes, boss, I couldn't have said it better.
It is an amazing news story.
So yes, this is an expression you can use at work.
But typically, for me, I say it with my friends.
If my friend describes something perfectly, I say, wow, you couldn't have said it better.
