Hello, everybody. My name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
You and me every day.
Come on! Let's master English.
Hello everybody, welcome back to Daily EZ English Expression.
Thank you so much for listening and downloading.
Today's podcast is brought to you by PIRF, my new speaking class.
And today is the last day to register and be a founding family member.
which means a really really good price.
I'm not joking. I'll talk about that later.
And then, I'll do my best for a week.
At least one week. No advertising.
Does that sound cool?
Aww, okay. Today's expression, fantastic.
Keep it together. Keep it together.
Hey, hey, hey, you need to keep it together.
Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah.
Keep it together. What does it mean?
keep it together. Now the key word is it.
It in this situation means your senses, your emotions, your energy.
Keep it together means stay calm.
Don't overreact. Relax.
We use this expression to encourage somebody or to try to help them relax when they're very, very, very, nervous.
So for example, today you must give a speech in front of 50 people.
And you've prepared, you've practiced, but now in 30 seconds you must go out in front of everybody and give the speech oh boy oh boy oh I'm getting really nervous oh my god oh my god if you have a good friend next to you he should say hey keep it together you'll be fine keep it together keep focused don't get nervous be strong just relax keep it together.
Keep it together. Okay?
Don't worry, you'll be fine.
It's a great expression to use to yourself and also of course to your friends before they do something that scares them or makes them nervous.
Okay? Let's check out a dialogue.
Uhhhh, I don't know if I can.
Come on, keep it together.
But I'm scared. You, baby, it's only a 90 -meter bungee jump GO!!!!
Oh my god. Bungee jump.
Do you know what bungee jumping is?
B -U -N -G -E -E -J -U -M -P -J -U -M -P -Jump.
Bungee jump. That's you know, jumping off a bridge.
like a really in this case 90 meters and you have like a rope a bungee cord it's like a rubber band and you jump real real real real real you understand bungee jumping 90 meters could you do it do you really think you could I think many people if they if they say if they imagine bungee jumping yes I want to do it I could do it.
Many of those people if they actually go bungee jumping when they're standing on the edge looking down many of them probably pee their pants they get too nervous they get scared they want to run away in that situation you have to tell that person keep it together keep it together don't pee your pants don't look down don't worry don't be scared just relax keep it together keep it together can you tell me of a situation when you needed to keep it together.
Or maybe have a situation when you were supposed to keep it together, but you didn't.
If you can, leave me a message.
I would love to hear about it.
Let's check out the dialogue two more times.
I don't know if I can.
Come on. Keep it together.
But I'm scared. You baby.
It's only a 90 meter bungee jump, go!
I don't know if I can.
Come on, keep it together.
But I'm scared, you baby.
It's only a 90 meter bungee jump, go!
Once again, today's podcast is brought to you by Perfect English.
Now, I have two premium classes and one of them focuses on listening and pronunciation.
And the new one, it's called perfect English, focuses on speaking.
English speaking. In perfect English, perfect, the spelling is different.
It's actually P -I -R -F -E -C -T.
And the P stands for pronunciation.
I teach standard American pronunciation.
The I stands for intonation.
Which words to emphasize?
Where does the stress go?
The R stands for rhythm.
How to read the sentence?
How to group the words?
How to pause? When to pause?
and the F stands for flow how fast or how slow to read so we have lots of different assignments basically there are three styles conversation a b a b a b a b interview a question and an answer and like a narration a documentary a a speech, something like that.
So we change each lesson.
Each lesson we have something new to study and something new to practice.
So I give you the assignment, and then a week later I tell you exactly how to say it, how to read it, how to speak it.
And I take some of your recordings and I coach you.
I give you personal coaching lessons on those.
It's a great class.
And right now this weekend, it's the last chance to be a founding member, which means a member from the beginning, and people who sign up now, I guarantee if you sign up, I will never ever increase the price of the class.
And the class, the class normal price is very inexpensive, it's very good.
But right now it's an amazing price I'm not going to tell you you can go check for yourself And I'll give you the website which gives you all the information and if you want you can sign up Also, if you want I can give you three free Lessons so first of all if you want the free lessons, or if you have some questions you can send me an email.
The email is perfectenglishatgmail .com And once again the spelling perfect p -i -r -f -e -c -t -e -n -g -l -i -s -h perfectenglishatgmail .com Now the website which gives you all the information it tells you what you get and it has the subscription button is this listen carefully let's master English is going to go up, but once again don't be nervous.
Don't be scared. The price will still be excellent.
And once again it's all about speaking.
Right now we have a good group of students who have already sent me recordings.
They're very excited and so am I.
I'm so excited about this new class.
So, it's new for me.
