Here it is. It spoke to me.
It spoke to me. That's past tense.
This is present tense.
It speaks to me. It speaks to me.
It spoke, S -P -O -K -E or speaks, S -P -E -A -K -S.
Well, of course they speak S -P -E -A -K.
anyway, to me, it spoke to me, okay well speak, speaks, spoke that means to, you know, be talking, it, it means something that's not a human so what is it?
A computer, did the computer talk to me?
Did the door talk to me?
Did my iphone talk to me?
No, no, no. The painting, the painting talked to me.
It spoke to me. The lecture talked to me.
The movie talked to me.
The music talked to me.
The book talked to me.
The view talked to me.
What does this mean?
It means that the painting or the book or the music or the whatever it was, the beautiful thing you saw, spoke to you.
It connected with you.
You felt a connection and you really loved it.
You appreciated it.
You could understand it.
So an example, the best example is a painting.
Now, I think everybody in the world knows about the famous painter named Picasso.
Pablo Picasso. Oh, what a genius.
What a genius. But I don't know, if you look at his paintings, they're not that difficult.
I could do that. I believe that I could make a Picasso style painting and show you a real Picasso and my version and you probably, well some of you, would not know the difference.
Don't you agree? Yeah, the reason I say that is because I don't understand Pablo Picasso's paintings, it's lines and colors and crazy faces.
I don't get it, but other people do.
Other people, I don't know how, but other people can look at a Pablo Picasso painting and say, Oh, magnifico.
It is magnificent, aww it's beautiful.
Oh my god, oh my god, this painting is speaking to me, aww.
I feel connected. Uh -huh, uh -huh, do you understand?
Okay, I'll give you an example after you listen to the dialogue.
Aah, this painting is so ugly!
Why did you buy it?
It spoke to me. What did it say?
No, look at it. It shows the meaning of life.
Yeah, some people can look at a painting of whatever and understand something very deep.
In that situation, that painting is speaking to that person.
Do you guys remember the movie The Matrix?
The Matrix? Yeah, great movie.
I liked it, especially the first one.
A lot of people who watched The Matrix, they didn't get it, they didn't understand it.
The movie did not speak to them.
But for other people, like me, oh wow, it was fantastic.
The movie spoke to me.
the movie was kind of telling me the definition of life or life for many people Just a battery.
That's what many people many people, you know, there's their slaves to their jobs They're just a battery for the system.
Yeah, that's what the Matrix movie told me.
It spoke to me I had a connection.
I had a really good feeling.
I got it. I understood it It's a great expression.
