Good morning and welcome to Kid News.
I'm Tori.
Today is Monday, November 3rd, 2025.
And we begin with Deja Vu for the Dodgers.
This morning, the city of Los Angeles will roll out the red carpet for a raucous parade and rally to celebrate their repeat World Series champions.
If last year is any indication, as many as 250000 fans will play hooky from school or work to attend.
The team finished off the Blue Jays in dramatic fashion Saturday night, coming from behind in Game 7 for an extra inning 5-4 victory.
The MVP?
Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who threw eight outs on zero days rest to clinch the win.
The Dodgers are the first team in 25 years to take back-to-back titles.
Is a three-peat next?
Maybe, but it's only been done four times in MLB history and nobody has pulled it off since the 2000 New York Yankees.
A frank message from Billie Eilish to the world's billionaires.
At the Wall Street Journal's Innovator Awards last week, the singer, who was also the guest of honor, donated 115 million to organizations that benefit the hungry and fight climate change.
Then she spoke her mind, taking aim at the wealthy crowd, which included meta-owner Mark Zuckerberg, model Hailey Bieber, filmmaker George Lucas and fashion icon Tory Burch.
Love you all, she said, but there's a few people in here that have a lot more money than me.
If you're a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?
No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.
According to multiple outlets, most of the room laughed and clapped, but not everybody.
Tired of doing chores?
There's almost a robot for that.
California company One X is taking pre-orders for Neo, a 5-foot 6-inch consumer-ready humanoid that it says can fold laundry, run a vacuum, tidy shelves, bring in the groceries, open doors and climb stairs.
Parents, think of Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons.
Starting tomorrow, applications open for those wanting to give the technology a try.
As always though, the devil's in the details, which in this case include a 20000 price tag and some inevitable housekeeping hiccups.
NIO apparently needs to be trained at some point by its family, but for now by a company rep who may be looking through the robot's eyes into your home to help get chores done.
The art world is getting tested again.
A year after Maurizio Catalan infamously duct-taped a banana to a wall and made 6 million, he's again trying to flush out big money by auctioning off an 18-carat solid gold toilet.
The opening bid for his 223-pound luxurious loo will be around 10 million due to the sky-high price of gold, but Sotheby's Auction House predicts it'll sell for even more when it hits the block later this month.
Interested?
Keep in mind there will be no try-before-you-buy option.
This throne fit for a king will be installed in a fourth-floor bathroom of the auction house where interested buyers can see it in its intended environment.
But, and this is a big but, they will not be allowed to sit on it.
You're probably still working your way through your Halloween haul, so we have to ask did you get a potato?
Much like the 6-7 trend, the holiday spud is having its day.
According to the Wall Street Journal, teenagers celebrate the starchy handout like a Halloween badge of honor.
Where did the ritual start?
No one seems to know, but the journal points to Pat Foy, a resident of Lancaster Pennsylvania, who started using tubers to get the trick back in Trick or Treat 20 years ago.
He gave his costume revelers a choice, and when a surprising number of kids opted for the spud, a tradition was born.
Now Foy is known in town as the Potato Man, and long lines form at his house every Halloween, which he tells the paper has made him a prisoner of his own practical joke.
Still to come, how a small-town police chief outpranks some high school seniors.
But first we want to shout out Arvin Nandon of Saratoga California, who celebrated another lap around the sun yesterday.
Arvin, your family tells us, you're like a true Pokemon trainer curious, brave and always ready for new adventures.
And you keep the beat with drumming skills that add rhythm and fun everywhere you go.
Happy belated birthday, Arvin.
Now, today's Kid News quiz.
Who won the World Series?
The L.A.
Dodgers in seven games.
Which popular singer called on the uber-rich to donate more of their money?
Billie Eilish How tall is the new humanoid housekeeper, soon to be released by a California company?
Neo stands 5 feet 6 inches.
What's the welcome surprise some of you may have found in your trick-or-treat bag?
A potato.
In today's Kid News Kicker, an epic high school prank, drew an equally epic response from the town's police chief.
Students in Heflin, Alabama, not only TP'd much of their town earlier this month, they also TP'd the police department and its patrol cars.
Chief Ross McGlawn vowed good-natured revenge, warning the pranksters that they had messed with the wrong people.
We are children of the 80s and 90s, he wrote on Facebook, who perfected this craft years ago.
He then formed a special task force for an extravagant tactical TP operation involving his officers, neighboring police and members of the community.
According to CBS News, the kids thought payback was coming on Halloween, so the task force struck early with drone footage showing toilet paper flying with surgical precision over the homes and trees of three of the original pranksters.
The chief called his handiwork the Mona Lisa of rolling.
It was good clean fun for the entire town.
And it also brought out the entrepreneurial spirit of the students who are now selling TP insurance to residents.
For those who buy it and get rolled, the teen's toilet paper rapid response team will be there in a jiffy to clean it up.
Thanks again to the Nenden family of Saratoga, California for sponsoring today's quiz.
A big birthday shout out for Arvin, who we're told can solve math challenges like a pro and is a kind friend with a loving spirit.
Keep shining bright, Arvin.
Before we go.
Shout out time for our Kid News classrooms.
Mrs Hausdorff and her Panthers at Palmyra in Palmyra, Missouri.
