The expression is clean cut.
I'm a clean cut guy. You need to be more clean cut.
This is an adjective. It's two words but it's hyphenated.
There's a hyphen, a dash between the words.
The first word clean, C-L-E-A-M.
Dash, cut, C-U-T. What does it mean to be clean cut?
It simply means to look professional, to look clean, to have a good haircut, to be physically clean.
Your face is not dirty, your hands are not dirty, your fingernails are not dirty.
To dress properly, not wearing rock and roll t-shirts.
I love rock and roll t-shirts but when you're working you don't want to wear, well, maybe you do, but you shouldn't wear a rock and roll t-shirt.
This is the idea of clean cut.
Now do we use this term for women?
I guess we could but it's much more common to use it regarding men.
You guys have probably seen my videos.
I have this mustache and not a beard but I got some whiskers on my face.
When my whiskers get too long, my wife always says you're not looking very clean cut.
You need to get yourself a shave.
You need to cut your hair.
You need to be clean cut.
Clean cut not only the shaving, not only the hair but just looking sharp overall.

That's your doctor? Yeah, why?
He's not very clean cut but he's cool.
I like his tats. Yeah, did you hear that?
This is a doctor, doctor, you know medical doctor.
This doctor is cool evidently but he has tattoos.
You know, tats, T-A-T-S, tattoo, T-A-T-T-O-O.
On your skin you can make pictures or words and stuff like that.
Tattoos, right? I think a lot of people in America have tattoos, especially now.
I mean a lot of people. People my age not as many but people younger like in their 20s and 30s.
Wow, it seems like over half of those people have tattoos.
When I was young the only people that had tattoos were motorcycle gangsters, bad guys, maybe some military guys.
And the image of somebody with a tattoo, the image was not clean cut.
When we talk about a doctor or a lawyer or an accountant, we think of a clean cut person.
If it's a guy he's going to be very clean cut.
His hair is going to be neat and short not too long, right?
It can be long but not long, long, right?
It has to be very neat. He might have a mustache, could have a beard but it's neat in appearance.
It's clean looking. Everything about him is clean.
This is the image of these professional people.
But if you see a doctor with a bunch of tattoos, personally, I guess there's nothing wrong with it, right?
You can do whatever you want to do.
But personally, I would rather have a doctor with no tattoos.
That's just my, that's what I want.
But when I see somebody with tattoos, it doesn't seem very clean cut to me.
So once again, even though this is not the hair that we need to cut, it's not your mustache or your beard that you need to cut.
It's just drawings on your skin.
But we can refer to that as clean cut.
He's not very clean cut.
The doctor with all his tattoos, ooh, that doesn't seem very clean cut to me.
All right? So what do you think?
I don't have any tattoos.
Once again, I don't have any tattoos.
And to be honest, I kind of would like to have one.
I think it'd be kind of cool.
I'm sure I will never do it.
But it's kind of cool. If I had a tattoo, I'd probably like, you know, have my wife and my boys' names on me, maybe.
I don't know, right? Anything else?
