Now, today's expression, which one should I do?
We're going to do bush league to be bush league, all right?
To be bush league.
B-U-S-S.
I'm sorry, B-U-S-H.
Bush.
Now, a bush is like a small tree.
It's not really a tree.
It's too close to the ground, right?
So that's kind of a bush, a bush.
League, L-E-A-G-U-E.
Now we should think sports like the soccer league and the major, major league baseball,
major league baseball, okay?
So, so bush, a tree that is low to the ground.
League, a sports organization.
So what does it mean?
Bush league, well actually bush league means basically amateur level, not high level,
not highly skilled.
Bush league like children.
Now children, they do their best, but they're not as, let's talk baseball or soccer.
Children play soccer, children play baseball, but they don't have strength.
They don't have as much skill as let's say 22 year old men.
22 year old men, 23, 24, 25 year old men.
Their soccer skills, their baseball skills are excellent, right?
So it's a little bit different.
So we use this expression, however, as a pejorative, meaning to criticize something, to say it's
bad.
Oh, you bought that cell phone?
Oh man, that cell phone is bush league.
That cell phone is amateur, it's no good, it's just a so, so cell phone, it's bush league.
You're gonna go to that restaurant?
Don't go to that restaurant, they're bush league.
When it comes to Italian food, that restaurant is bush league.
