Hello, everybody. My name is Coach Shane.

Hello, everybody. Welcome back to Daily Easy English Expression.
Today's podcast and all my videos are brought to you by these fantastic new sponsors.
Daniel Sagara, David Juan Carlos Cruz, Andrea Graziani.
I hope my pronunciation was okay.
And Miguel, thank you so much for sponsoring this podcast. My videos, you guys allow me to be a full -time English teacher online, and I appreciate it.
Now today we've got a very good expression.
It's very common, and it's kind of confusing.
It is go figure. Go figure.
Go figure. G -O -Go, figure, F -I -G -U -R -E.
Now we use this expression in many situations, but listen to the intonation, huh, go figure, go figure, go figure.
If we use that intonation, the meaning is basically, yep that's surprising.
It's unbelievable. I can't believe it.
Isn't that interesting?
That's the idea. Okay, so Coach Shane has such a lovely young voice but he is actually 46 years old what what yeah go figure isn't that surprising isn't that amazing go figure Shane has over a 1 ,000 lessons on YouTube that are free for anyone.
Over a thousand? Yeah, go figure, isn't that amazing?
Isn't that surprising?
Shane is such a handsome man and yet he's very single, no women want to be with him.
Go figure, yeah, that's surprising.
Well, maybe it's not surprising.
Go Figure. All right, those were some silly examples.
Let's check out this dialogue.
It's back to Shane again.
You lived in Korea for over 20 years?
Yeah, Go Figure. Are you going to go back?
I'm not sure. Yes, that's right.
I lived in South Korea for over 20 years.
Amazing. That's very surprising.
Go figure. Are you going to go back?
Are you going to move back to Korea?
I'm not sure maybe who knows right now I'm I'm uh in America saying hi to my parents mom and dad are getting old It's very nice to see them again I probably won't stay here forever.
That's for sure Actually, I'm hoping to move in in January.
But who knows. It's been really nice living in Korea though.
And it's also very nice to be back...
excuse me, to be back in America.
So, yeah, 20 years in South Korea.
Go figure. Isn't that amazing?
Isn't that surprising?
Wow. Get the intonation.
That's what's most important.
Okay, that's it you guys.
Let's check out the dialogue two more times You lived in Korea for over 20 years?
Yeah go figure. Are you gonna go back?
I'm not sure You lived in Korea for over 20 years?
Yeah, go figure. Are you gonna go back?
I'm not sure Well, thank you very much for listening to the podcast all the way up to now.
I have a very special gift for people who are interested in improving their speaking, their English speaking.
It could be conversational speaking or giving a presentation or whatever.
I'm starting a new class called perfect English now it's actually spelled p -i -r -f -e -c -t not p -e -r -f -e -c -t because the p stands for pronunciation the i stands for intonation how to emphasize certain words which words are most important The R stands for rhythm, how to know when to pause, how to group words together.
And the F stands for flow.
How fast should you say something or how slow should you say something?
So it's all about speaking and I'm still testing the class.
So right now I've prepared my second lesson.
And we call it Perfect English Two.
And this lesson is a conversation.
And it's actually a job interview, it's from a situation comedy, but I'm not going to give you the audio.
I'm only giving you the text.
And I want you to practice this, I want you to think about how should you say what these people are saying?
How do you speak? How do you do it?
And after a few days, I'll make a video lesson telling you exactly how you should say the conversation.
I'll tell you all about the pronunciation, the cancellation, the linking, the intonation, which words are most important.
I'll show you when you can pause and I'll show you how fast you need to say it.
So this is the idea of my new class called Perfect English.
And for today, for the next 24 hours if you send me an email my email address daily dictation members at gmail .com.
Now, in this subject line write P -I -R -F.
If you do that, I will send you this lesson for free.
Now this lesson is in the future it's not for free, it's a paid class.
But I want you to get a taste of this speaking class and I'm really curious as to your opinions.
So once again send me an email daily dictation members at gmail .com and the subject line write pirf and I will send you the lesson, okay, I'll give you 24 hours.
So I'll give you all the way up until Well, I guess the 13th for me August 13th 10 p .m. 2014.
That's the limit. After that, too bad.
So once again it's a special gift for you because you are listening to the very end of this podcast. I sincerely appreciate that.
So, I want to share something special.
Thanks a lot you guys.
You guys have a fantastic day and remember together let's master English.
