Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody, welcome back to Daily Easy English Expressions, the podcast.
It is August 1st, 2021 for me.
When are you listening to this?
You might be listening to this in 2030.
Could be listening to it today, I don't know.
Anyway, hi, how are you doing?
My name is Coach Shane.
It's great to be with you.
Today we have a fantastic word.
The nuance, the nuance, N-U-A-N-C-E.
New nuance, nuance, nuance.
It's a French word.
The nuance basically means the hidden meaning.
The unspoken meaning, the true meaning.
Okay?
So for example, I had a British friend.
He was actually a bad guy.
But anyway, one day, and I've told this story before, one day I got a haircut and
the haircut was not that good.
Anyway, I got a haircut and then in the evening I went out and I saw my friend.
And his name was John.
And John said to me, oh Shane, he's British.
Oh Shane, nice haircut.
And then I said thank you.
And then everybody in the bar laughed at me.
I didn't understand the nuance of what John had said.
He said nice haircut.
But that's not what he meant.
He actually meant that it was a funny looking goofy, terrible haircut.
And I didn't know.
But everybody else in the bar knew they knew that it was a horrible haircut.
See I didn't know.
When I go to the barber to get a haircut, believe it or not, I don't look in the mirror.
I just trust the barber and say, okay, whatever, thanks.
And I leave.
Yeah.
So I didn't realize that my haircut was actually really bad.
It was really bad.
But John said it was very good.
It was, he said, oh nice haircut.
So thank you.
But I didn't understand the nuance.
He was being sarcastic.
He's being mean.
And I still like John.
He's okay.
So the nuance.
Now this is actually so important, a lot of students, right?
A lot of English students, they understand English.
They can read English and have a good understanding.
Their vocabulary is good.
They understand grammar.
But they don't understand the situation.
And this is where my class, DDM, is perfect.
Because in DDM, we get into the nuance.
The nuance of English.
Why do we say a sentence this way and not this way?
Yeah.
It's really important too.
If you want to go from intermediate to advanced and higher,
the nuance is really important.
And trust me, because I've been teaching DDM
for years and years and years.
New nonsense, it takes a long time to learn.
A long time.
There are students who think their English is excellent.
And then I ask them, what's the nuance of this sentence?
They have no idea.
And when I tell them, they're like, oh my god, really?
Ah, yeah, it's very humbling.
So if you are interested in learning the nuance of English,
I highly recommend that you join my classes.
But first, let's go to the dialogue, please.
Why are you smiling, Timmy?
The teacher said I was bad.
That's not good.
Michael Jackson's bad.
That's good.
But that wasn't the nuance your teacher meant.
Right.
Yeah, that's a good example.
Michael Jackson has a song called Bad, which actually means he's good.
But bad should mean that you're bad, right?
Yeah.
Women like bad boys, bad guys.
They think they're good.
I don't, it's great.
Yeah, I don't understand.
But anyway, that's a great example of making sure you understand the nuance.
The nuance of something is very important.
If you would like to try my DDM lessons and a perf lesson for free, absolutely for free.
Send me an email, all right?
Daily dictation members at gmail.com.
We just started a new month, August, and DDM VIP actually starts tomorrow on August 2nd.
So yeah, we got that.
Perf VIP going strong.
And yeah, we want to see you in the classes, join the classes, join the lessons, get the
lessons, join the live classes, tons of live classes.
We can even send you the schedule so you can see what our August schedule or any month.
Just send us an email whenever this is, even if this is in 2030 in May, hopefully I'll
still have my lessons going.
But whenever it is, just send us an email and say, can I draw some free lessons?
Can you show me the live class schedule?
And by the way, if you're listening to this in August, like August 1st, once again,
today is August 1st, 2021, our LME 365 is officially one month old.
And we had a sale last month.
And I will be ending that sale.
I'm not going to end it today.
Maybe I'll do it tomorrow or the next day.
Okay, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do it, but that sale will end and prices will
go to normal.
It is incredibly cheap to join right now.
Okay, so it's a great opportunity for you guys to join.
Yeah, seriously do it and enjoy the lessons.
LME 365 is cool. It's a combination of DDM and Perth.
And it's a new lesson every day.
So for example, yesterday we put out the assignment.
Today it was a Perth assignment.
It was a speaking assignment.
So yesterday I put up the assignment.
I give students 24 hours to practice.
Tonight I will put up the P video, the pronunciation.
It's a video that teaches the perfect pronunciation for the assignment.
And then tomorrow I put up the earth.
That's the sentence, intonation, sentence, rhythm and sentence flow.
And that'll complete the lesson.
And then that's tomorrow.
So on Tuesday I'll put up a new DDM lesson.
I'll put up the assignment.
And then on Wednesday I'll put up the answers.
And on Thursday I'll put up the explanations.
And then on Friday another new assignment.
So this is how LME 365 works.
Literally 365 days a year there is something new.
And you can skip lessons.
It's okay when you go on vacation and you're busy.
Don't worry about it.
Relax.
Okay.
The lessons, however, will always be there.
So it's really, really amazing.
LME 365, incredible.
Great opportunity to join now at a super, at the founding member price.
It's the lowest you'll ever see.
All right.
Thank you very much guys.
Have a fantastic day.
Check out the dialogue a couple more times.
And together let's master English.
