Hello everybody, my name is Cochain and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody, welcome back to the Easy English Expressions.
The Budgees.
This is number one thousand fifteen.
My name is Cochain.
Thank you so much for listening.
Are you going to join me in my classes?
I hope so.
D-D-M-V-I-P, perf V-I-P.
We got L-M-E-360 coming up.
Brand new structure.
Fantastic.
We have our June sale.
If you're listening to this in May of 2021, our big June Super Sale is coming up.
That's when we start L-M-E360.
So it's a great opportunity for you to join.
It's a fantastic opportunity.
So do that.
Okay, before you join, get the free lessons.

And today's expression is to get caught up to catch up to be caught up.
Of course catch C-A-T-C-H catch the past tense is caught C-A-U-G-H-T.
But we're talking phrasal verb here, so to catch up or to be caught up to get caught up
to be caught up and to get caught up are the same.
Now listen to that pronunciation C-A-U-G-H-T caught.
It's an A-W pronunciation.
It's not cat, cat, it's caught.
And then up U-P obviously, but we have a flap T linking those two, so caught up, caught
up to be caught up to get caught up.
That's what I want to focus on.
Our last podcast in 1014 we had to be behind.
So to be caught up to get caught up, this is kind of like the opposite.
If you are caught up, that means you have finished all of the tasks that you had to do.
You should, you have finished all of the jobs that you had to do that you should have
done earlier.
You should have done them earlier.
So basically like this, let's say you're a student and the teacher says, okay, by next
week, I want you to read the next seven chapters in your book, okay?
So your teacher assigns you seven chapters to read.
That's no problem because today you can read one chapter tomorrow, another chapter.
So every day for a week you can read one chapter a day and you'll be perfect.
Everything will be perfect and you can go to class and have a good discussion with the
teacher, right?
But if you are like me, that first day, you want to read a chapter, but you don't.
You skip a day.
No problem.
You'll read a chapter a day plus five pages or maybe tomorrow you'll just read two chapters.
But then tomorrow you don't read either.
And then the next day you don't read and the next day you don't read.
And finally, it's the day before class and you have to read all seven chapters and you're
like, oh my God.
And of course you start at 10 p.m.
10 p.m.
You start reading.
Right now you are way behind.
You should have been reading throughout the week, but you didn't.
You fell behind, you are way behind in order for you to get caught up.
You need to read all seven chapters tonight before class tomorrow.
You need to read all seven chapters before class.
If you do that, which is not easy, but if you do, then you will be caught up.
I'm caught up.
I don't think I can catch up.
It's too much work.
I will never catch up.
I'm sure I can catch up.
Yes, I'm caught up.
I caught up last night.
I'm so happy.
This is how we use the expression.
Check out the dialogue.
Yes, I'm finally caught up.
How did you catch up on emails?
I got behind.
I am so behind.
Can you help me?
What a great dialogue.
If you listen to the last podcast, you will understand this dialogue perfectly.
The first guy says, yes, he's happy.
I am finally caught up.
The other guy says, what did you?
What did you hear the pronunciation?
Go back and listen again.
Listen to that pronunciation.
He says, what did you catch up on?
What did you catch up on?
That means the guy was behind in something.
What was he behind in?
The guy answers emails.
I got behind.
Yes, for coaching, that happens a lot.
I have so many.
I've got Rob.
I've got Brian.
I've got Coach Miguel.
I've got myself.
I've got Parmi.
I think there's more people.
We have five different people going through our emails.
And still, we sometimes fall behind.
We get behind.
It still happens.
Especially for me because these guys, they flag.
They make a blue star or something red star for coaching.
Coaching needs to see this email.
Coaching needs to see this email.
And I always fall behind.
But today, this morning, I caught up.
I caught up.
If you sent me an email and I didn't respond, then we just lost it.
It might have went to spam.
Send it again.
We're actually really good with the emails.
Today, I got caught up.
Anyway, this guy, too, emails, I got behind.
What about you?
Are you behind on answering your emails?
Or are you caught up?
Do you catch up every day?
Do you catch up every week?
For me, almost daily.
I would say for me, there are some days I skip.
I just, I got to relax.
I got to don't even turn on the computer.
I have to do that for some days.
But generally, every day, every morning, I try to catch up.
Morning is my email time.
Yeah, generally.
So anyway, what about you?
I'm curious.
When do you catch up on your emails?
Or are you still behind?
And the other guy says, oh, I am so behind.
I'm very, very behind.
Can you help me?
Yeah.
That's right.
That's the idea.
It's a fantastic expression to get caught up, to be caught up.
And of course, the present tense, to catch up.
Fantastic, Frazel Verb.
And by the way, guys, to catch up.
Oh, this is only one usage of that Frazel Verb.
There are completely different usages of that Frazel Verb, too.
English is a bear.
It's really tough.
It's really, it's not, it's not easy.
It is tough to use real, daily English.
That's why you need to join DDM.
I'm serious, DDM, join DDM.
DDM VIP is like with me, the brand new lessons.

like China, don't worry, it works in China.
If you have problems, let us know.
I ran, it works and I ran.
I always get students and I ran saying,
oh, I want to join, but I cannot pay.
No, no, we have that system figured out.
So if you're in a ran, no problem.
If you're in China, we have Ali pay.
Yeah, we're good around the world.
Yeah, and we have students.
We even had a student from North Korea.
But that North Korean student was in the United States.
At the, I don't know, embassy or something.
Seriously, we did.
At North Korean students, maybe they were in Europe.
Anyway, we had a North Korean.
So I think we had a student from every country,
all of Asia, all of Africa, all of Central,
or Central and South America, Europe.
Yeah, I think we've pretty much hit everywhere.
I'm so happy about that.
So there's no excuses.
All right, join.
And by the way, get the newsletter.
The newsletter, www.letzmasterenglish.com.
Slash free, you put your name, you put your email there.

at the very bottom of my newsletter,
there's a button that says unsubscribe.

So I'm guessing around June 24th probably.
I'm guessing it'll start then.
So there's going to be a lot of email about the sale.
And some students, oh, I don't like it.
Oh, it's disgusting.
Oh, he's trying to make money.

But I will be sending out a lot of emails
to encourage you to take advantage of the unbelievable sale
that is coming up at the end of June.
I have been chit-chatting way too long.
I'm starting to fall behind in my work
and I need to catch up.
You guys have a fantastic day.
Check out the dialogue two more times.
Listen to that pronunciation of what did you, what did you
listen carefully.
And together, let's master English.
Yes, I'm finally caught up.
Would you catch up on emails?
I got behind.
Oh, I am so behind.
Can you help me?
