Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody, welcome back to DailyEasyEnglish, expression the podcast.
What is this? 972? Yep. It's great.
It's great. I'm really happy to have you listening.
Thank you so much guys. Today's expression is very good.
It is three words. MENT to B.
You and I are MENT to B. She and I were not MENT to B.
MENT to B, three words spelling.
M-E-A-N-T MENT to T-O-B-B.
MENT to B. What does it mean?
So if you and I were or are MENT to B, that means you and I coming together is destiny.
God intended. God wanted us to be together.
God has decided. Before, before I met you, before you met me, God already knew and God already decided that you and I would be together.
Yeah, so this is very common in a romantic situation.
The guy says to the woman, M-B-B-R-U-N-I are MENT to B.
Or the woman says to the guy, oh, sweetie, you and I are MENT to B.
M-M-M. That's true. Yeah.
But you know what? I have a lot of relationship experience and I can tell you.
Sometimes the man and the woman are not MENT to B.
You think this is the right woman and good God, no it's not.
And of course, ladies, the same thing.
You think this is the right man, but oh, whoa, no it's not.
So MENT to B. Now, once again, this is most common in relationships, guy girl relationships, right?
But you can also use it in things like work.
So as an English teacher, you know, I never, even in my 20s, even into my 30s, I didn't think becoming an English teacher was for me.
I didn't think me being an English teacher was meant to be.
I thought I was meant to be something else, maybe a radio star or a TV star or a business man, but I didn't see myself as a full time English teacher.
And then what happened?
I would say it was 2012. Yeah, 2011, maybe 2010, but for sure 2012, that's when I realized, yep, me being an English teacher was meant to be.
This is my destiny. God intended me to be an English teacher.
And here I am. Here I am. Yeah.
So it took me 40 years to realize what I was meant to be.
And I was meant to be an English teacher.
That's right. What about you?
And your job, are you meant to be what you are doing now?
What about you and your relationship?
You and your husband and your wife or your wife or your girlfriend or your boyfriend?
Do you think that you two are meant to be?
Yeah. So like I said, I've been through a number of several relationships, very painful and very expensive.
Right now my wife, my wife and I, we fight.
Yeah, she's stubborn. And so am I.
She's a woman and I'm a man.
And believe me, we have lots of arguments.
However, even today, but anyway, however, in my opinion, we're meant to be.
We are meant to be. I hope I don't know what she thinks.
I know, actually, I know sometimes she thinks that we're not meant to be, but you know what?
Anyway, I feel as though we are meant to be, God intended us to be together.
Right? Yeah. Okay. So anyway, check out the dialogue and then we'll wrap it up.
Oh, you like washing your car in the rain too?
Yeah. Hey, are you wearing Superman socks too?
Of course. You wouldn't happen to like ketchup on your ice cream, would you?
Oh, I love it. Oh, we are so meant to be.
Wow. That guy and that girl, they are truly meant to be.
Both of them enjoy washing their car in the rain.
That sounds kind of silly to me.
Both of them like wearing Superman socks.
Wow. Now, that's, you know, for a guy, I can see that, but a woman too likes wearing Superman socks.
Wow. And both of them like what?
Catch up on their ice cream.
That's disgusting. Who eats ketchup on ice cream?
Well, these two people do.
So they both like washing their car in the rain.
They both like wearing Superman socks and they both like ketchup on their ice cream.
Those two absolutely are meant to be.
And finally, God has put them together.
Let's hope they get married.
Yeah. I don't know if I want them to have children.
No, I'm teasing. I have many children.
That's it guys meant to be.
