Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody, welcome back to daily Easy English Expressions.
The Budgast. This is number 967.
Very simple, never felt.
I have never felt something.
And we usually say better, stronger, more handsome, uglier, prettier, smellier, smarter, sillier.
Any of those, any of those, any of you just make a comparison and never felt, so the sentence is actually I have never felt, you know, smarter, but in daily English we just say never felt smarter.
And what it means is right now I feel the most smart, rather the smartest I have ever felt in my life.
It's a great expression.
And it's really common when you have a greeting.
Hey John, how are you doing?
Never felt better. Never felt better.
BETTR, which means excellent.
I'm doing perfect. I have never been this good.
Now usually when we use it as a greeting, it doesn't actually mean, you know, they feel the best in their entire life.
It just means good, great.
Hey John, how you doing?
Never felt better. Really?
What happened? No, no, no, no, just like this.
Hey John, how you doing?
Never felt better. Great.
And that's it. Okay. You don't have to say what happened.
Why? Don't do that. But sometimes we do use it literally.
Well, I'll show you an example with a dialogue.
How are those vitamins?
Oh, super. Never felt stronger.
Really? You're like this out.
Whoa. Put me down. Haha.
Oh, wow. What vitamins is that guy taking?
Because whatever he's taking, those vitamins are making him feel strong.
And he says never felt stronger.
And then he picks up the other guy and to show his super strength, that's great.
I need those vitamins. You know, I'm getting old.
I think I was my strongest about 20 years ago.
I'm guessing 20 years ago, I was my strongest.
Right? When I was like 30, 31, 32, that was probably when I was my strongest, physically strongest, you know, with muscles.
But I think in the future, I will get strong again.
I hope so. And one day, I really, really want to use the expression never felt stronger.
And then I'll pick up my wife and my two boys with one arm.
And I'll pick up a beer with the other hand.
Yeah, that'd be cool. Never felt stronger.
This is a great expression.
Never felt happier. Never felt stronger.
Never felt sadder. Never felt more terrible.
So just use your comparatives and you'll be good to go.
All right? And you guys, we have a super fantastic deal.
