Hello, everybody. My name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.

Hello, everybody. Welcome back to daily easy English expression, the budgast TGIF.
Thank God it's Friday for me.
It's Friday. What's the date?
It is July 20th, 2018.
Friday, I just finished a live class with my students these days.
So busy, so many live classes.
Next week should be easier for me.
Not so many live classes.
So hopefully we'll have lots of expressions coming out next week.
I sincerely thank you for your patience.
Today's fickle f i c k l e.
Are you a fickle person?
I can be fickle when it comes to eating.
My mom is very fickle.
Some people are very fickle.
Some people are not fickle.
f i c k l e. What does it mean to be fickle?
Well, I'll tell you in a second.
First of all, listen to the dialogue.
Maybe you can guess.
I broke up with Mary.
Why? She seems so nice.
Ah, but she's so fickle.
She's like the weather in Chicago.
One minute sunny, the next minute stormy, one minute warm, the next cold.
What does it mean to be fickle?
If somebody is fickle, that means they change their mind, or maybe their emotions change suddenly and for no real reason.
So once again, one minute the person is happy and the next person, the next minute the person is not so happy.
Today I like french fries and tomorrow I don't like french fries.
Today I love living in the city of Chicago and tomorrow I don't.
I hate living in the city of Chicago.
So people who are fickle, their mind, their emotions, their feelings can change completely from one minute to the next minute.
Yeah. So once again, me personally, I'm not very fickle.
I seriously, I guess maybe sometimes when it comes to food, you know, so today I want to eat Mexican food and tomorrow I hate Mexican food and then next week I love Mexican food.
So sometimes I do get maybe a little fickle when it comes to food, but otherwise I'm pretty steady.
If I like something, if I feel some way, I generally don't change.
Yeah, I'm pretty, pretty steady.
What about you? Are you fickle?
Are you fickle about anything in particular?
Yeah. Are you changeable?
Malleable? Yeah, this is the idea.
fickle f -i -c -k -l -e.
