Hello everybody. My name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody. Welcome back to daily Easy English Expressions.
It's Friday, TGIF. Thank you so much for listening to the podcast.
Today's expression, oh I really like this expression.
Today's expression is music to my ears.
I love this expression.
The other day I went strawberry picking.
Fresh strawberries.
That's music to my ears.
My God, those were his first words.
Those words are music to my ears.
If something is music to your ears, it means whatever you heard was really good.
If you heard your son's first words, they were music to your ears.
They sounded so wonderful.
If you heard about fresh strawberries, oh that sounds delicious.
That sounds wonderful.
If something is music to your ears, it sounds wonderful.
And it doesn't have to be music.
Check out the dialogue.
Dinner's ready. Oh yeah, that's music to my ears.
Wash your hands first.
Oh, okay. Oh you bet.
Some of my favorite words, dinner's ready.
Music to my ears. What else do I like?
I like, coach Shane, you're a very good English coach.
Yes, those words are music to my ears.
And of course, I love to hear the sound of a can of beer opening.
Oh yeah, that sound.
Music to my ears. And what about you?
What is music to your ears?
Once again, we usually don't refer to music.
When we use this expression, we refer to other things that are just as wonderful, just as nice, as beautiful music.
That's today's expression.
Once again, for me, it is Friday, so if it's Friday for you TGIF.
Thank God it's Friday.
